In short, Shuto had some late bills they needed to emergency cover from the 2017 convention, and allegedly enough people were offering to donate that they opened up donations through Eventbrite. There were a lot of confusing and sketchy details, such as exactly where the sudden bills came from, where the money would be going, and how they were going about donating. The whole thing was pretty cringey, but they did succeed in meeting their donation goal and starting 2018 with a clean financial slate.

Tournament Organizer-san here, I'm the guy who runs the game room tournaments at Youma and Shuto. I'll be there again. No idea if they are gonna have those big ass stages again this year, but I really doubt it. Last year only 2 of the 3 stages worked because using all three of them drew too much power iirc. My personal setup+monitor were fried that weekend when we tried getting all three working.

She wasn't such a mess in the begining. Many of us artists looked up to her and appreciated the con. Joe became really, really creepy over time and Stef became really hard to talk to. She started to pretty much argue and scoff at any and every critique the con received.

Once AANI came in to play, it exposed how much of an out of touch narcissist she is. She would scream at people online for the smallest shit. We would use a word she didn't like, didn't run our businesses the way she would, or offer her constructive criticism.
She was rabid over crap she would also do. We started to call out her hypocrisy and the blow back was insane.

She is really way too open about her private crap. It's uncomfortable and unprofessional. I worry that she is too focused on drama, being viewed as right, and gaining sympathy to really run the con properly. I've been holding out hope for her. She keeps letting us down. I am not going to Shuto next year. I am not supporting any of her projects any more.

A few years ago when a friend had won, it took us actually getting there and making a scene at the registration counter to get a pass when they said, 'Oh, we know nothing about winners getting anything beyond a certificate last year', even when they took his information explicitly to give him a badge the following year. Honestly, it's because I had an alright time last year and wanted to see how they handled fixing last year's problems. Premium artists paid extra for a better space and were shoved in the very back. I havent done a final count of my sales but attendance is for sure down from last year.

Stephanie came to all the premium artists and said she had heard our feedback and would come around at the end of Friday and see how sales went to see if she would move booths or what options shed be able to help us with...

She never came by to any artists later. She posted in the shuto artists group basically saying “sorry i didnt come by, i was really busy. Nothing i can do about the premium artists, well fix it next year”
