$680 for this shit? Includes the dress, "overskirt", and the jewelry accessories, not even the shoes or a wig.

Post your favorite commissioners, places to buy cosplay, etc. because while Etsy is a generally good source, gems like this pop up every once in a while.

When I was making my Zelda outfits I looked on here to see how people did things. I find a lot of people severely overcharge for very mediocre looking work...and they GET it too. The construction better be god tier on this stuff, that might make it worth it? IDK

the construction for the cosplay in OP looks terrible up close. plus, you can get much more intricate/detailed cosplays for that price, not just a simple white dress with some acrylic accessories. she's selling the accessories separately for $240.....

I remember specifically her cosplay of Strawberry from No More Heroes sat in her storenvy for... maybe years. Pic related. It was 240$ with no wig or shoes. No matter how you twist it there's no way to justify the price, it's literally underwear and a cape. She's also known for not wearing underpants with her costumes and not cleaning them afterwards.
>inb4 that's why they're so $$ :^)

Whats the deal with her and Monchichitanuki anyways? I heard something about her scamming people but I was only able to find one small twitter post on it

Any good commissioners? Any bad ones to avoid?

recently found DuchessChest on Etsy, and her stuff has almost straight 5 stars, pretty good prices and really clean work (apparently it's a team of cosplayers who have been in it for a while now)

To those who commission/buy and those who make, what's your general opinion on commissions/buying cosplay?
I try and make my own cosplay, but I cant sew to save my life and my perfectionist attitude leaves me embarrassed by the product and I never take pictures of it in cons and store it forever after that one use. I always get told it'll get better after time, but I really don't have the time, money, and energy to end up doing this at every con. I'd rather use the money to support another cosplayer, save myself the time and stress of making it, and end up with a product I'll actually be proud to wear multiple times.
While I know the general idea is to just not claim it as my own and everything will be fine, it's still embarrassing for me get around to commissioning, knowing everyone most likely made theirs. How do you get rid of that feeling?
