So, Alice and the Pirates always outs out a "Halloween" print every year, right?
Did anyone keep track of the several prints? I feel like I'm missing some. So far I found

-Vampire Requiem (2009)
-Vampire Forest (2010)
-Vampire Prelude (2012)
-Merry Making in the Ghost Town (2013)
-Guilty Meltin Sweets Town (2014)
-Tricky Nightmare Factory (2015)
-Vampire Nocturne (2015)
-Rosy Night's Masquerade (2016)
-Secret Hospital (2017)
-Night of the Devil's Castle (2017)

For some I don't even remember which one was supposed to be the Halloween release.

There's a few that I think are debatable halloween prints.

In 2007, they released Halloween Alice which I believe might have been one of their first "spooky" print release. I haven't found anything that fits the bill for 2008 so far. As for 2011, Black Cat, Witch and the Apple Tree would probably be considered their halloween print, and that year they also re-released vampire requiem. I believe it wasn't until 2009 that they began consistently producing spooky halloween prints.

I know they don't have any designers at the moment, but when they get one, it's not unfeasible to think they could scan an existing skirt/old artwork and work on that, or simply make up a new gate that kinda sorta looks like the original.

Or heck, they could outsource a scan job to some art students and use that to screenprint. Then the only issue after that would be the lace quality.

It's not like I'm hoping for a direct re-release of Iron Gate, I said Neo Iron Gate. Heck I'd settle for Neo Royal Gate if it's not flocked. And the print is from like 12 years ago, what's another few years while they get their shit together, I can wait.

Do some calf exercises. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and rise slowly onto the balls of your feet, then lower yourself back down slowly. Do this for 10 minutes a few times a day, or whenever you're waiting for the water to boil/dinner to cook/brushing your teeth.

to be fair, some people are just reallyyy not used to heels, so they struggle to be comfortable in literally any high heel. I agree with anon though, do calf exercises, and buy a low pair of heels and wear them round the house whenever you can. For me, I swear by insoles (in boots), a good fitting shoe and a high quality shoe. If a kitten heel shoe is well built, fits well, is cushioned, and you wear them in, then it shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. Ah. Yes, tropical country, so one wear, one wash. There's not really a hygienic way around this, I could spend all day in an air-conditioned shopping mall or office, but I'd still sweat into the dress when walking to/from the car park. And when I get home and take a shower, I like to put on another dress. So most weeks I'd have worn 5-9 dresses that week.

The more dresses you have, the wear and tear is spread out over them, so 60 dresses is not really a lot. It's just two months of different dresses if you wear a different one every day, so you basically wear and wash it 6 times a year, which cuts down on wear and tear on the dresses.

The dresses do get uneven wear, though. The pastel AP lucky pack dresses are good for weekends, and then the weekdays are usually dark-coloured dresses or IW florals, then comfy cotton dresses for housewear. There's nothing stopping me from re-wearing a dress several times a month if I just feel like it. And like I said, I still keep a couple of fancy princess dresses that almost never get worn.

It's always funny to see fatties get triggered at japanese brands not wanting fat girls to wear (aka stretch) their stuff. Just deal with it and lose weight if you're that upset.
Also there are plenty other fashions for girls with a large chest, you shouldn't complain, you're privileged to have big boobs. This is one of the only thing that looks good on us, small chested girls, so let us have that.
The only thing I can agree on are the designs being repetitive sometimes. Using a shopping service isn't even that hard, are they actually retarded or lazy?

If it's really clear that it's a cosplay, and you look reasonably good, probably fairly little. "Lolita is just clothes" is mutually exclusive with "lolita items must be worn only in this specific way at all times!!!11!"

I'm the anon who originally posted the parasol question, and ended up just buying brand new from Baby. All the 2nd hand stuff I have seen is either stained/damaged, or selling for the price of a brand new item... I'd rather support the brand and get something new if I'm buying a brand piece.

I do appreciate everyone's suggestions though!

Hahahahahaha. Buy a Milanope lacemonster. Then try to wear lacemonster. When you tear it off your body while screaming about the itching you'll realise Meta's raschel lace is pretty good.

That's about all there is to the stigma of raschel lace. The cheapest knockoff shops use the crappy stiff plastic kind so it gave the whole lace type a bad rep, plus anyone who's ever gone near the cheap crappy plastic kind (eg sat next to an ita) will have this instinct to stay away from it now.

It's possible for walmart stuff to have decent lace, they're usually only using one line of it like somewhere on the bodice, so little lace won't be expensive, even if it's decent quality. Lolita will use lace on every hem, neckline, sleeves, in three lines down/across the skirt, across the bodice, on the bows, etc etc. So that's where it gets expensive and then the knockoffs try to use shitty crappy plastic lace to cut costs.

Now before any of you report me for shitposting hear me out. First according to the height of a Minion (which is 3.5 feet on average) Gru is 4 minions tall, which means he is a godly size of 14 feet tall. Second if any of you remember the original Despicable Me, you Know there is a scene when Vector kidnaps the three girls and shoots a series of heat-seeking misses at Gru, he then dodge them all. According to the speed of an average ballistic missile (1900 mph) and the size of the missile according to his ankle size, Gru can perceive and move at such a speed that the missiles only move 9.5 miles per hour, 0.5% of their original speed. Plus after this Gru punches a shark and it is paralyzed meaning its spine is probably shattered, to remind you it would require a force greater than 3,000 newtons to fracture the spine. That’s equal to the impact created by a 500-pound car crashing into a wall at 30 miles per hour. I rest my case.

Anyone who transitions so they can be the kawaii fuckslut of their wildest dreams isn't really trans in my eyes, just someone willing to go to the extreme to satisfy a perversion. Just like how I'll call a sissy in a lolita a "guy" no matter how much they want to be called a girl, I'll call a sissy who takes hormones a guy too. I'm thinking of leaving lolita because I just can't seem to find inspiration in it anymore. I love peoples outfits but it just doesn't feel very "me".
I have been struggling a lot mentally at the moment though, feel like I've lost myself and I definitely don't want to fully quit the fashion if I'm going to get out of this slump and want to start wearing it again.
Is there a way I could somehow re interest myself in it? What do you gulls do when you're going through a slump?

>> No.9886516

>>9886511
I look through the old glbs from when I first fell in love with it. it always makes me feel remotivated in the fashion. there is something about new lolita that bores me, but when I remember what got me into it in the first place, and start thinking of, and about, me and what makes me love lolita, that's when I feel myself getting back into it. it's not about other people to me, it's about how lolita makes ME look and feel to myself. I wear it because I want to wear it, because it makes me feel happy and cute and I love that.

>> No.9886525

>>9886511

- Slow down and take it easy. Every time I see a youtuber quit lolita it’s inevitably someone who went into it at 200% with fake lashes, wigs, vlog/blogs, the works. You can post less to social media or whatever activity is too much or isn’t making you happy anymore can be dropped. Wear a pretty dress on weekends with sandals and just enjoy the dress, or if that’s still too much, hang it up in your room and admire it.

- Branch out into other substyles/related fashion (otome/girly kei, soft lolita, “Korean office lady”, etc) Sometimes I see someone stuck in a “formula” look that works for them previously, but they no longer like it or they’re bored after a few years. Looking into related fashion helps you see how you can style your existing wardrobe in a different way in a way that better reflects you now.

- Pack everything up and mark a date a few months away. At the end of that date, evaluate again how you feel about lolita. I dealt with not having lolita just fine, but opened my box back up and fell right back in love with my old dresses. Ended up changing my style but kept most of my favorite dresses.

- If all else fails, consider downsizing to just your favorite dresses in complete coords. You can pack them away in vacuum bags so that they’ll always be there whenever you feel like coming back. Then get on with your life, know that the dresses will always be waiting if you want to wear them again. The way lolita is going, whatever you own will probably be a nostalgic “neo old school” in ten year’s time, so there’s no worry about being outdated.

I’ve noticed that I often start to feel this way when I’ve been spending a lot of time with the online communities, especially COF. Scrolling through COF I only like maybe one in twenty posts and end up thinking that this fashion just isn’t for me anymore. The way for me to rekindle my love for it is to step out of the online comms for a while and go back to my inspiration folder and older GLB’s like another anon said. Sometimes I put on some music that makes me feel nostalgic to when I first fell in love with lolita and go through my closet, putting together new coords. This has also helped me work out which pieces I truly love and which pieces I only bought out of hype or because I felt like I needed them at the time for whatever reason. Go back to your roots, but not necessarily to a specific time period. Just try to find what made you feel in love with lolita in the first place and focus on that.
