So, I'm in an Uber right now. The first thing the driver said to me when I got in was "do those clothes make you feel like a little baby girl" (word for word) and when I answered him stonily, he backtracked and said "well...it's just because my daughter likes dressing up too". He hasn't said anything since and I'm super uncomfortable. Fucking blurred lines is playing on the radio rn

Cont. From last thread

Well for me I don't really get many itas normies and cosplay just like to also buy my items for use in non-lolita. It's important to make a good piece first, and then think about how it fits into Lolita instead of just trying to make what you think lolitas like.

I get people who buy things for prom and Halloween parties as well as for Lolita coordinates, and people who just like a peice and want to wear it to work.

Really most good accessory brands are like this; Voodooodolly, automatic honey, Necrosium, that resin brand with the bunnies I can't remember the name of, and even things like peppermint Fox brooches aren't things you have to wear with Lolita

Ask for feedback in your post, and you can check the background on the critique you receive (although be sure not to let your feels get in the way of your brain — someone small and skinny can still give advice on colour matching, and someone who “looks similar” to your size may be actually just as bad as you at dressing for their body shape. Ideally you want to find someone of a similar weight and height who looks prettier and nicer than you, and learn how they look so much better.)

If you're fat, this >>9902258 won’t help — a lot of people imagine the collages on someone who fits into the clothes, so if you’re a big-sized girl and you post an AP dress, people imagine it being worn by some AP model that’s like half your size. When you put on the dress and stretch it all out in the wrong places you’ll still look bad, and you’ll still get posted to the ita thread for stretching out the dress. A lot of times fat and ugly can be improved with some shapewear and grooming, but that’s not the kind of thing you post a collage and get advice on.

Can I ask you guys what your sizes are? I want to get a Roland someday, but the question of "which size to get" has made me put it off. I don't want it to be too big but too small would be even worse. I'm 86/66 and you have to account for it going over other clothes...

Not them but maybe they meant old school? I don't know what else they could think of at least lolita wise. Even stuff like MM or VM usually have 67-70 cm waist so it would best suit a 62-65 cm waist; if your waist is too small it looks weird and baggy because of their super hourglass specific cuts unless you pin the dress.
If they were talking about other jfashions I would understand more though because some brands can get pretty small. Lolita is the fat girl fashion for a reason. I can only imagine they're rping.

I own both and prefer the cotton version. The poly one is not very shiny in person and feels very nice to the touch, but the cotton version feels a lot more substantial and "solid", if that makes sense? It also fits much nicer, possibly because the fabric isn't as malleable as the poly.
Basically the poly ver isn't terrible but if you have an option to get the cotton one, it's better and a lot more worth it, at least in my opinion.

People are trying to say because AP and baby release 72cm waists for their shit that it's average, but it isn't. Not only is lolita considered a fat girl fashion over there, you have to take into consideration blouses/petticoats/bloomers and all the layering that could lead to them needing a larger waisted item.

Seems like a fairly simple thing to do. One thing though, I'd say that instead of mentioning how lolita is unrelated to Nabokov's novel, simply don't mention the connection at all and talk about the fashion's history and origins instead. If there are parents present, they can always ask about it when it's time to ask questions or after the panel.
This sounds interesting though, how did you get this opportunity?

Yeah. Personally i don't need a comm to enjoy my frills so either way it doesn't effect me much, however it would still be nice to have a cohesive group for big meets and such.

There is a new comm anyway for people who actually want to attend meets, and of course the only people complaining about that are once again the people who don't even attend the main comm meets.

Well, to be fair I've run a successful lolita panel in the past but I haven't done something like this before - But again, I think it should be pretty simple to do. It may not guarantee success/popularity but it's worth a shot.
Dumbing down the information is pretty easy: Instead of talking about how kawaii culture originated from Japanese teenage girls rebelling against strict societal expectations etc., say it in another way that's easier to swallow like
>Girls in Japan have to wear uniforms to school every day [show pics of these uniforms], and they wanted to do something fun before they became adults.
>One of the things they liked to do is dress up and wear fun clothes on the weekend [show pics of old school jfash], when no one could tell them what to do.
Or something along these lines. Give the old shtick a more lighthearted tone and use A LOT of pictures. Pull up pics of old school jfashion, if you're talking about kawaii as a whole throw in popular kawaii characters and how they're incorporated into jfash, i.e. decora girls wearing Hello Kitty shit; and use a lot of pics of recent styles to show the audience what they look like today, and pics of westerners (maybe pics from your local jfash communities) to show them that these styles exist today outside of Japan too and that anyone can wear them; just be mindful to leave out things that may not be age appropriate like menhera or more sexual styles of gyaru.

She's not a billionaire. She sold off remaining ownership of her company in 2006. I think she only got $50-$100 million at best. Neiman Marcus turn around and sold it to another company for $124 million in 2006. Coach bought Kate Spade in 2017 for $2.4 billion.

Honestly my biggest issue with ageplayers/littles is that most of them have perfectly happy/decently normal/non-abusive upbringings. They even tend to have super good relationships with their actual fathers.

Something about an actually truly damaged adult trying to reconnect with the carefree childhood they missed out on/using ageplay as a coping mechanism for severe childhood abuse is one thing. I get it. If all littles were like this I feel it'd be way different and they'd be immediate targets for pity and sympathy rather than disgust.

But honestly if you love your actual father and then turn around and call you SO "Daddy" you're a special kind of nasty.

Honestly, how is that "treating a designer shitty" at all? Do you expect a business to just pay someone and freely let others mooch from what they paid for? If you don't want to be restricted from using a character you designed elsewhere, then the answer is to just not agree with that company that they can use it. I don't think Kuniko was an employee, though? Wasn't she one of the co-founders? In which case I can see the new president showing respect by not using the bunny mascot, and Kuniko equally respectfully not using IP directly related to her old brand.

Actually Metamorphose wasn't really consistently releasing bunny things even when Kuniko was there, I think it's even likely that at some point she forgot about it, or she thinks it's no longer popular. Someone should go make some fanart (or fanplush) of it, maybe she'll remember people like bunnies and make something similar.

In any case, this doesn't really hold up in the case of Angelic Pretty or Baby, if you've noticed AP goes through a shitton of one-release characters -- the bear from Musee du Chocolat, the swan from Milky Swan, the chick from Happy Garden, the lamb from Sheep Garden, etc etc. I think they only started re-using Lilica because they've seen how popular Btssb gets by consistently reusing Usakumya, not the other way around.

As for Baby, I'm pretty sure they've had designers come and go but they're still consistently re-releasing Usakumya. It's kind of consistent with how they're still doing old school releases as Classic, they're kind of somewhat less trend-hoppy than AP so I could see them catering to girls who like their older stuff rather than pumping a new character every year.

Non-ita probably actually isn’t too hard if you just go with a basic boring coord like the girl in the photo (really just needs to style her hair differently and switch out to better socks). Do avoid the helicopter headbow and go for matching hairbows or something else instead though.

I don’t think it can ever really escape the vibe of “beginner basic” though. I mean, if you’re going to throw a bunch of cool and interesting burando accessories/bolero/blouse/etc around/on/under it, at that point you might as well be wearing all burando. And the dress bodice itself has that really common cheap daisy lace that everyone and their grandma already got bored of ten years ago (which isn’t too bad for an older Bodyline dress, but still makes it boring and meh to look at).

My 2cents, if you need to wear it for the meet, just own it and be cute in it. Coord it like you would any brand dress. And maybe wear a cute apron as well so even your Bodyline looks well-taken care of.

This is a video on youtube explaining some research that suggests wearing replica items makes you feel like a bad person:

anon, the fact that you're using this and looking for a roast tells me either the lolita community has warped your view of body, or this is a strange form of vendetta. if it's the former, you are definitely average and not fat nor skinny, though in some parts they might call you slimmer than most. you're okay imho, you're just obviously not asian or ana

at AM there is a changing booth. anyone can try on dresses (though the girls try to make fatty-chans wear TF) and the protocol for fashion square employees is to "check for stains, and if there are none, put it back"
after this, anyone can grab it off the rack and take it home immediately without ever being told the dress was worn, and without it being sold at a used price

i think your logic is slightly flawed, but i commend you for spotting the sissy

i'd like to say everyone watch out for a fetish tranny joining your comm, but they're too common

chances are their app won't even be accepted if your suspicions are correct, unless it's an SJW-leaning mod(s)

100% creepy. i'm so sorry anon. just picturing being trapped in a car with a creep who's driving you around asking about how you ~feel~ in your dress (little baby girl? fuck you i feel like a queen)
