There are some nice quality ones of OnS by CarolBelle but I don't know your definition of hq and how large you want these pics to be.
GLB, prolly/definitely not, those scans are old af.
Scanning those mags is a lot of work, tried it once, gave up cause it's boring and it takes forever to scan just a single mag as it has so many pages.

My coords are nice when they're laid out, but when I put them on, they look terrible. I think I'm just too ugly. It's terrifying, I feel like I'll get 10 likes and people commenting "you're fat!" "you're ugly!"

that's literally what you have to do. Just do it. Seriously. the only way you can get over a fear is by facing it and realizing that it's not so bad after all.

>> No.9906610

>>9906603
What makes them look terrible? Is it the fit, or your face? If it's the former, you need to find pieces that fit and flatter you. It's a process that involves a lot of trial and error if you're not entirely sure what you're doing, but it's perfectly doable.
If it's the latter, you can just put a sticker on your face. I'm terribly unphotogenic and that's what I do with pics in which my coords look good but my face doesn't.

Use face covering stickers.

Also figure out why it is that you want to post coords online. Is it just because all the other lolitas are doing it? If so, posting isn't a requirement and doesn't make you less of a lolita if you don't.

>> No.9906619

>>9906603
Do you already post flat lays? That might be a way to ease into it, practice angles, lighting etc. or on a doll if you have one to put your coords on. Then just take a few and post first within your group and ask concrit to make the photos better saying what you did here, that the flat lays look ok but you don't like your worn coord shots and just ask for tips to improve specific things you don't like. I feel like there should be a lolita photos group for this, do we need one?

I guess it's not really my face, maybe just my body. I'm not overweight or anything, but I'm not thin, and even if I were thin, I have a terrible body shape. Broad shoulders, no waist. It makes everything look terrible. Lolita looks nicer on me than normie clothes, but it's still awful on me. I think I just really hate myself. My face is alright, it's my body that I hate.
>>9906619
I do on my private instagram with friends, but not really anywhere publicly. I posted one once on CoF and it got like 40 likes so I got insecure and stopped. I also just want to post myself online so people will call me cute and pretty, but I know nobody would anyways.
>>9906606
I guess so.. I'm mainly afraid I'll just be passed off as an ita because I'm not super thin and cute. I'm also afraid people will dig up my past.

>> No.9906637

>>9906629
You sound like you have very low self esteem. Getting likes made you anxious. I would say avoid posting yourself because more sadness will come from it than happiness. Even if a bunch of people say you are cute you will focus on the ones that don't. I would say keep posting privately, but post flat coords publically.

>> No.9906649

>> No.9906685

>>9906637
It actually wasnt the likes that made me insecure, it was the fact that I only got 40 likes. Not 50, not 100, not 200+ like all the other girls get. Maybe because it was a flat lay, but still. I'm not cute, so it won't up the amount of likes I get anyway. I hope one day I have the courage.
>>9906649
Fitting undergarments make all my pudge stick out and it looks like 20 times worse. I'm still working on losing weight. No amount of photoshop will fix my disgusting body though.
I'm not sure about angles. I have to take all of my photos by myself. I don't have a way to set up my phone to get nice photos, they usually look really awkward and my mirror is too small for mirror selfies.
>>9906684
Because I love lolita. I adore the fashion and it makes me happy when I wear it. I don't give a shit what some normies think about me, but other lolitas judgement terrifies me. I look a whole lot worse in normie clothing.

If you have a past, it runs the risk of being found so prepare for it. If you want to be called cute and pretty then do your best with cute and pretty stylings. Learn to dress for your shape, which might narrow your print choices and cuts but will look better shape-wise.
But you sound more like you are focused on complaining about your insecurities and shortcomings than fixing them. You've gotten some good advice in this thread but unless you work on the tips and use them, they won't do you any good.

Take the photos as if you will post them, but don't actually post until you can be more brave to do it. Practicing without posting can help you become brave enough to do it.

Nayrt, it's not just cgl who thinks this way, and it's not entirely facebook's fault. Imo it's a combination of newbies being whiny (which they always have been, to be fair) and the fact that FB has our names attached to our comments.
On LJ or here people feel comfortable criticizing coords, or completely shitting on them, thanks to relative or complete anonymity; on FB not everyone feels comfortable commenting "negatively" with their names attached, even if concrit isn't inherently negative, especially since some newbs can be quite quick to cry about bullying and elitism. Sometimes sandwich concrit is enough to give the receiver the impression you're legitimately trying to help; other times they may immediately cry unless your comment is littered with emojis and hearts and some people just can't be bothered to sugarcoat their comments this way.
Adding to that the fact that COF is full of non-lolitas who are quick to compliment anything even if it's not lolita at all, and equally quick to tell people to "stop being a bully" because they have the preconceived notion that lolitas are all bullies, and you have an environment that isn't exactly friendly to concrit and, by extension, growth.

I absolutely agree about concrit being helpful. The way to solve it, imo, is to just go for it and offer concrit to those who want it. If the OP states they don't want concrit then leave them be, even if most people who add this to their posts are the ones who could benefit from concrit the most; otherwise, offer helpful suggestions to people who might use them to improve, or just to try something new. Just be mindful to at least be somewhat sure that your suggestions are helpful, relevant, and can actually help the OP improve their look.

Try medieval/renaissance clothes makers. No joke. It's a common shape for undergarments. Some are very fancy with embroidery and such.

Otherwise, try stores with hippy or other similar fashion. I'm not sure what to call it so it might be the wrong word, but my local gothic store switched to that shit (that men decided gothic is dead and will never come back and it's all over for all alternative dark fashions and underground communities don't exist people just become all normal now) and although I find most of it looks horrible and like a homeless person, I think they have shirts like this as well.

Maybe try using some Rub n Buff? It's basically wax but it has a nice metallic look to it and can be used to restore metallic items to their original color, or give them an entirely new color. Not sure if there's one that matches the exact shade of your jewelry, and if there isn't you might have to coat the entire necklace in it to make sure it's a single color.

This is like trying to explain burando is one step above taobao but not mystical forest elves level of better, and also explaining that there's a huge difference in quality between both types of brands.

Q-pot's quality is decent, and they have access to factories and manufacturing processes that you can't really find with small etsy stores or indie artists. You don't really have to worry about whether some unknown etsy "artist" is putting together Aliexpress junk and charging you $50 for it, everything Q-pot makes is their own design. And no worries about ending up with some cheapskate seller using bottom-of-the-barrel shit, Q-pot's findings are pretty solid and last pretty long> But, it's still coated metal, not solid gold or solid silver or anything like that. Indie artists are better in that sense, some of them are able to cater directly to those with allergies and will tell you exactly what's in their findings. Q-pot just expects you don't have any allergies at all.

Thing is, sometimes you find a release like this and wonder if those pieces of plastic are really worth 7k yen. Even AP is charging maybe 4k yen for their plastic jewellery and already girls are rolling their eyes. But then again, where else are you going to find pieces of plastic molded to look like melting chocolate that is formed to wrap around your wrist? So you can either pay 7k yen for this very pretty piece of cheap plastic molded in a particular way, or go without.

That's kind of why their jewelry has that price tag, partly it's the original designs, partly the quality is decent, and partly it appeals to a niche market who want plastic chocolate wrapped around their hands.

It's you, and that's tiresome. That's why sellers make a TOS, to avoid dealing with snowflake situations where people can't get their own shipping details or other buying woes straight, it's seller protection from flaky buyers. I notify via PayPal and ship by standard, insured methods to that verified address. It cuts down on a lot of messing about. You shouldn't buy from people if you freak out when you don't bother to read and can't follow their TOS and need them to babysit your purchase instead. Using paypal verified notices is perfectly reputable and your buyer experience can go smoothly if you are able to read and follow simple instructions (without any freak-outs).

Cosplay help thread would've been better indeed. The skirt itself is a circle or flared skirt, do not use a rectangle. You need to insert horsehair braid into the hem, the stiffness causes it to do the flippy wave thing. You can use a cupcake petticoat, or for less weight with max poof you can also look into using a hoop skirt, then layer a white skirt over it to get the white layers.

If you look up how people make Cardcaptor Sakura skirts, they sometimes use this construction. The other one is Magica Madoka, but she has a much shorter skirt than your girl.

You'd have better luck simply posting a WTB in your comm, the egl sales FB, or in the BST. State your budget and location so you don't get offers that are too high.

If you really want to look at the MTO dresses (I assume that's what you mean by "tea party dresses"), I generally sort by price and start at the highest end. Most of them were at least $500, sellers don't usually sell them so cheaply, so if you don't see one among the overpriced Misty Skys and Cinema Dolls there probably isn't one being sold at the moment.

If you have the time to look, I'd say don't write off the regular dresses. A lot of lolita is pretty OTT, especially the sweet brands. Angelic Pretty even has Bride Doll onepiece set up in their shop right now that looks pretty bridal, something else that wasn't an MTO might still work for you.

There was a Chinese lolita who advised to go to weibo and follow the Chinese lolita threads to sort the good from the bad but people weren't as interested as I hoped they could be. I'm leery of taobao lolita stuff because of cheap fabric etc but I'd buy some if I knew it was good quality.
Cheap quality should be discussed and people should get to be more knowledgeable about it, that's another part of treating it like a fashion style and not a costume. We should care about that more.

Part of it was because as a street fashion, some of the older stuff is tacky and not great fabrics. I don't know anon, I have quite a few pieces that are about a decade old and the materials used are phenomenal. Modern lolita isn't bad but it does seem lesser in comparison, at least in my experience. My wardrobe is all solids btw so I can't comment on prints.

>> No.9912900

>>9912884
I think it was when both replicas and taobao got more popular. A lot of taobao is bad quality but if it was an alternative to a replica, even good lolitas were willing to overlook crap quality in relief that it at least was an original design. If you say 'no replicas and no cheap stuff either' it does begin to sound elitist even if that's not the intent. So cheap crappy taobao has prospered.

>> No.9912904

>>9912900
I get what you're saying but "cheap stuff" usually refers to quality rather than the actual price tag, if that makes sense, so it's actually elitist at all. It's entirely possible to buy a secondhand brand dress for $40 or less, when it's well made and in good condition, and there's absolutely no problem with things like this in the fashion; if anything it's admirable imo, but I'm admittedly addicted to hunting down secondhand brand.

I completely agree about price/quality but when the replica issue came, I think there was a lot of pressure on brand wearing lolitas to be very accepting as long as someone wasn’t wearing a replica, so it got to be a habit to not critique the quality as long as someone was not wearing replicas. Even the shitty bodyline print monsters enjoyed renewed popularity. But the pendulum swings back and with second-hand brand (if you are good enough to hunt it) and people getting pickier about what they spend on, the quality issue is coming up. I wish chinesexlolita would write a taobao guide since she seemed to know enough about fabric and sewing to sort the good from the bad. I’m not sure if I’m motivated enough to make a weibo account and competent enough to wade in with google translate to puzzle it out. I'm not too sure about that guideline. I always thought it was dead = right over left and alive = left over right.

I would recommend you draw your character wearing left over right, so long as they are alive. There's some talk about using the left portion as a "pocket" for weapons that is convenient for right handed people to access, but there's not much concrete evidence, so do be careful about it.

I hate using anime examples for cultural stuff, but if you look at Noragami, the dead do wear their kimonos right over left. In Hell Girl, Ai Enma wears her kimono left over right, since despite her close ties to hell and death, she is technically still alive.

Also, a necromancer would be bringing the dead back to life, right? So if you treat it as a rebirth rather than creating living dead, left over right is still more appropriate, I feel. This isn't really a "without fail" thing: people do get it wrong. It's just considered really bad luck to do so. Your parents would probably be mortified too.

TL;DR: left over right.

I suggest not assuming anything like this before you're actually sure of it. How do you know the tracking number is correct if it never worked? Did you try tracking it on the outgoing post office's website? Sometimes cheaper tracking only works within the countries they're shipped out of.
Anyway, you should contact the seller and tell her what's up; tell her you're concerned and ask politely if she can check the tracking code and/or the package's current whereabouts with her post office. That's what I'd do, anyway.

They're elastic shoulder straps, anon. They stretch downwards, not sideways.

If you're a taller girl or have a longer torso then they let you move the dress downwards so that your bust is actually sitting in the bust area and not in the waist area, which has less fabric.
