not crossplaying but I need to get a moustache shadow removed because that shit aint anime, doesnt matter how much i shave it because my fair skin and pitch black hair(thick on top of the head, very thin on the body/face) will always make a contrast.

I was gonna have it waxed but why do I see women get moustache waxed with almost no hair on their upper lip but I see people saying men need to grow theirs to 1 centimeter+ first, then I see youtube vids of dumbasses with full beards having it ripped off and probably causing scarring?

why the fuck dont i just get it waxed 1-2 days after a shave?

>Dammit, can't I just cover my arms and legs? Shouldn't long sleeves, gloves and long socks do the trick?

Covering your arms and legs to hide body hair is just the last option you should consider when it's absolutely mandatory for you to keep your hair. It will never be the same as cleanly shaving off everything. If it's just your personal lazyness, then you're about to heavily spoil the quality of your own cosplay.

>> No.9937794

>>9936380
Definitely seconding using an orange colour corrector. Not sure exactly where you're located but you can pick up one relatively cheap. Put it on after your primer on dark areas you want to cover, blend out, apply foundation, etc etc.

As for the waxing, I do my own face as it's cheaper and I've done it when the hairs were way shorter than 1cm but I'm not a dude so I don't deal with stubble the same way. I use the Nair Cire Divine wax which they say you can use on hair as short as 2mm. If you're willing to try and wax yourself maybe it's something to look into? Fair warning, shit hurts especially on sensitive areas like the upper lip but you get used to it if you do it regularly.

>> No.9937969

>>9936380

This one is easy. Just use hard wax. I'm a girl with mild Hirsutism and I wax my entire face once a week. Doesn't cause any scarring and the hair can be really short and even shaved a day or so prior. The worst it does is cause my face to look red for a few hours afterwards, but it goes away and then I get to enjoy a totally smooth face. And I'm sure you're aware but it hurts pretty bad the first time.

Go on amazon and search for cerepil blue hard wax. It's a little pricey, but it's the best imo.

>I want to do lolita
Better stick to gothic and classic, for one thing, they're the most forgiving for more "mature" facial features. I can't tell you whether you'll always look like a drag queen, you might never be able to look extremely feminine, but you can probably work with your features to create an elegant (rather than cute) look.
Avoid sharp, cut-across bangs, they'll emphasize your nose and probably your eyes too. It's difficult to suggest other hairstyles without knowing what you look like but I'm thinking wispy, soft side or half bangs with side pieces to frame your face, similar to a hime cut in a way but not as blunt.
There are makeup guides for deep set eyes out there, many of them are centered around western makeup so I suggest looking at makeup guides for gothic/classic lolitas and applying the tips from the former to the latter, to create a look that flatters you and the style you're wearing. Keep in mind that makeup in lolita is usually not very heavy anyway so you don't have to pile on eye shadow that might make your deep set eyes look worse.

Oh honey. Many cons freely allow people to sell fan merchandise which, in this day and age when people can produce their own acrylic charms and enamel pins, can rival official merch. I highly, highly doubt that copyright is a real concern in this case.

As for makeup tips, you'll have to do your own research and practice since we don't really know your features/skin. There's a makeup thread and plenty of youtube videos. You're welcome to post here for concrit. Just make sure you actually fucking practice and get feedback. A lot of guys don't bother and end up looking really bad. It makes a huge difference in lolita since the purpose is to look feminine and elegant, whereas cosplay is more forgiving since everyone knows it's a costume.

Also feel free to post for coording concrit, too. Don't look like an ita. Brolitas who don't even bother trying end up looking really terrible, so be prepared to put in the extra effort. Pic related.

Been looking to buy one of these for a while now, it's not for crossplay but I have zero tits. They look decent in shop stock photos and on some crossplayers I follow but I want to actually hear an opinion before I drop 200$ on them. Also hard to tell how much those photos are edited.
Anyone get one of these before? How natural do they look/feel irl? Do they look okay with the edges uncovered? Is it comfortable enough to wear for a whole con day? Default foam fillers okay or pay the extra for silicone fillers?

Get a bunch of makeup and do some experiments. In fact, go to a makeup store and explain what's going on. In my experience, they're more than happy to help. False lashes need glue to really stay on, so if you don't like that then go with mascara.

Also, don't worry about that 'thot' shit. If someone is going to hate you for putting work into your appearance, then they're a shitty person who you're better off avoiding.

This stuff isn't easy. It's also not cheap. However, it ain't easy or cheap for girls either, so really it all works out. You will only get results if you put in the work. Even the 'naturally trappy' people put a ton of effort into their appearance. Hell, my girlfriend teases me for the amount of time is takes me to get ready.

I'm not trans, and I wouldn't classify myself as non-binary (I don't have the emotional energy to make my gender a political statement), but I also realized that I never plan on growing a beard or mustache. Recently my partner has shown interest in twinning lolita with me at a con or a meet so I'd like to help him, he really likes classic and gothic lolita and has surprised me with his good taste, his legs are amazing and I think he'll do fine with me doing his make up (he looks kinda like /f/). The only problem is getting his confidence up and actually buying everything we need to twin; Bodyline/taobao seems like the easy option to break the ice before investing but I'm worried the quality will make him look cheap and fetishy, what should I do?

>> No.9974722

Secondhand brand - You get the quality for (potentially) less than retail, or even a fragment of the price if you're willing to be patient and actually look for a bargain. Classic and gothic are especially easy to buy for, just be on the lookout for things that'll actually fit him. IW for example have released some gorgeous pieces that are also available in longer lengths if he's tall, and many of their JSKs have adjustable straps to make them longer if needed, and their solid pieces tend to be quite affordable secondhand.

He fits into my brand better than me, I'm a long bitch (175cm) and he's smol (165cm) and we both have 28" waists and 36" chests so at least we can share pretty much everything. Getting secondhand will be a bother but I'm keeping my eye out on wonderwelt, we might just have to not exactly match the first time.

>> No.9974731

>>9974727
I think you can twin with the exact same pieces if you're really patient but worse case scenario either put together a coord that matches yours in colors and cuts so you can "twin" without actually wearing the same pieces (if that makes sense) or just put together a good coord for him to wear and postpone the twinning for later. The latter might be a good option if he's never worn lolita before, ease him into it before you commit to twinning.

I've had great fun with filling helium type balloons with water
Fill them only enough water to fill the bra cups (350 grams each will fill out a 36DD) and they'll tolerate more abuse than you'd think without popping, but they're not fool proof though so handle them somewhat gently when inserting or removing them

Having said that, my cosplay friends (male or female matters not) take much glee in either groping me or getting me groped since they're bouncy and springy, plus after a short while they'll be warm to the touch having absorbed enough heat to achieve body temp (when they start out at room temp, they absorb a fair bit of heat so it a nice way to keep cool)

The latex doesn't last forever and the water slowly evaporates out of them, but balloons are super cheap so making new ones every con is pretty manageable
Just make sure you get all the air bubbles out before tying them off so they don't make a sloshing noise when you move

>> No.9974949

Are you on a budget? It sounds like you yourself are already a lolita so you should know about lacemarket and other options. And yeah, I don't recommend bodyline since it will make him look ita just like every other girl who wears bodyline poorly. If you're not on a budget just fill out your own personal wardrobe over time and let him borrow pieces. Then maybe he'll slowly invest in lolita himself.

And there's nothing we can do about his own confidence. That's something he'll have to do on his own. Maybe if he'll realize that we live in 2018 and people don't give a shit if you're gay or trans-trender anymore. People crossdress all the time at anime conventions, too.

My eyeliner skills suck, this is my 6th attempt. is it too thick/dull? i can only sharpen it buts never pointy like a pencil. I hate my undereyes, even with strong concealer and a light pink blush it wont go away, maybe I should use a stronger beige/pink blush?

eyebrows still feel too chunky even after a ton of waxing, I guess I could bleach to make it easier to colour, i shouldve bought some pink liquid eyeliner maybe?

Space in what way? If you can see the lines between your toes showing in the open part then it’s too big for you.
Likewise if the flats feel like they’re going to slip off.
Pointy toe flats are slightly uncomfortable when they’re properly sized but not so uncomfortable that your feet are crushed.
You can save it if you have to by stuffing the toes with some tissue paper to make a good fit and prevent slipping off, but this is if you have no other option.

Change the blush to a more warm toned pink, maybe even a peachy tone; the cool pink doesn't flatter you at all. Also, if you're going to use it right on the apples of your cheeks, use less blush.
Don't do winged eyeliner in sweet lolita, it's a more "mature" look that doesn't suit the style. If you have to do wings do small ones, and I suggest making your eyeliner thinner in general, it's a bit too heavy. Also, a question: Are you wearing mascara in this?
If you wear a light wig like this, you should cut your wig bangs in a way that they're still long enough to cover your eyebrows, and please wear something other than that dress, I can tell from this shot alone that it's a cheap monstrosity.

I’m impressed with your liner wings but yeah for sweet Lolita smaller less noticeable eyeliner is more suited for the look.
Also agree that the eyebrows is what gives you away as men have much more bushy brows than even “bushy-browned” females and if they care enough to do their makeup they usually care enough to keep their brows done up too.
Just some waxing to have them shaped , thinned out a bit and cleaned up a bit should do. Blush is a little bit heavy, warmer tone to match your skin would be better and not as harsh. Other than that great job anon it’s not bad at all just small differences that will help the believability.

Heels are hell even for girls.
It doesn’t get better until you grow some calluses but the pain is constant. You just kind of have to put up with it if you want heels.
You can minimize some of the pain by using shoe inserts for the balls of your feet and the edge of the shoe on heel areas so look into some heel shoe inserts at least to make it slightly more bearable.
Ensure you have a good fit /proper size to minimize pain as much as possible too, but even with these tips heels will never be comfortable, but they’re not comfortable for women either is what I’m saying.
Any time you can get away with a wedge or chunky heel instead of a stilleto heel, go for it and after wearing heels for long periods of time treat your feet to a soak to relax some of the pain/muscles in your feet.

>> No.9981421

As a muscular guy you can pass off more for sexy woman look easier (like Kameron Michaels mentioned earlier in this thread) but if you want to do more of a kawaii young girl you’ll have to lose some of your muscle definition because women already develop their muscles differently and further, kawaii younger girls rarely if ever have much muscle definition, so you having too much will throw it off.
Nothing wrong with looking drag queen-esque but if you mean looking “overdone” by that then that means go lighter on makeup than a drag queen would. Their tips might actually be the most useful for you to listen to because they’re the ones who invented many tricks to feminize strongly masculine looking bodies that would be helpful to you, like padding, contouring, etc.
When people say “I don’t want to look like a drag queen” I don’t think they realize drag comes in a scale and many queens actually look believable but they achieve this by knowing their features and aiming for a more realistic look vs an over emphasized comedic “man in dress” one.
Also, it’s better to look like a drag queen rather than a creepy exhibitionist cross dresser, especially in today’s world where drag is pretty much mainstream accepted.

Know your size before you go, you won’t have to try them on and feel awkward that way.
The band size is in inches so if you’re 34inches around your chest where the band should be, you need a 34B/D/A etc, since you’ve got no boobs already the cup size doesn’t really matter since you’ll be stuffing it but stay to smaller sizes if you get a 34DD when you’ve got no real tits you risk it looking weird unless you’ve got silicone tits to wear under the bra.
In the case of silicone tits, put them on and look up bra size measuring guides to figure how to measure around the boobs to find the cup size.
It helps if you know what your size is ahead of time if you don’t want to have to try on in stores and get weird looks.
When you pay if you’re ashamed and not sure it will fit, ask for a gift receipt, then return it with it if it ends up not fitting.
If you want lots of padding go for bras that say “Push up” or “Double Push up”- Victoria’s Secret has Double Push up bras that are HEAVILY padded.

If you go in with a written out list of items or a list/pictures to refer to on phone, and women see you asking for help/checking that list while shopping, they will think you’re buying for somebody else, especially if you don’t dress anything less than average “masculine casual” while shopping, trust me.
They might be looking out of curiousity since makeup/bra/shoe/clothes sections for women usually only contain women and occasionally their boyfriends who tagged along, so a man alone is unique to us and we may look for a second but at least for me I don’t think anything other than “he’s probably trying to get a gift for a girl” or as far as makeup I might assume he’s got acne or scars he’s trying to cover, just mundane average shit like that. I’ve never assumed a guy was buying because he’s trying to crossdress and I know a few male crossplayers so if anything I should get that idea but I don’t.
It’s mostly in your head anon, just don’t give a fuck and if it helps use the tricks mentioned to cosplay “a guy buying shit for a girl” while in the store.
Gift receipts/ lists/ asking help from salespeople/ mentioning your gf/sister/friend/whatever you’re buying for. You’ll be fine as long as you don’t go into a store in a ghetto area, dressed in woman’s clothes, and screaming about how you’re a sissy- nobody will give it too much consideration.

This is the problem, if you want to see if you can pull off crossplay/crossdressing, then you should start with skirts, dresses are not easy to pull off as a male because they're designed for the female body (narrow shoulders, wide hips, etc. You get the idea).
With skirts on the other hand, is easier to "add" and "substract" from your frame.

What's the best way to deal with facial hair, especially around the chin/neck around the chin?

my skins super pale and I feel like it becomes noticeable super fast after shaving, I'm sick of wearing those le epic masks, should I just use makeup?

bite the bullet and get laser. my moustache lost patches after a wax, but that takes a lot of time and extreme pain (and like 3-4 days where you just grow puss or whatever bumps and white stuff on your upper lip)

>>9991028
that shit does not work with pale skin/dark hair unless you REALLY cake it up and it looks awful.

Shave before everything else and use color correcting concealer

>> No.9991140

>>9990888
Shave right before the event, and use a concealer that's heavier on orange tones (this balances against the natural 'blue' tone that dark hair makes underneath our skin. Once you've got the concealer down, THEN you can put on foundation, then contouring.

Speaking of contouring, watch this video. It will seriously help.

We get it. You're not gay. Now go put on your panties and makeup.

that's true too, also the discords that get posted on cgl eventually amass a critical mass of trannies, crossdressers, and sissy fags to the point where that's all they talk about and the server dies. I can't fathom why trannies can literally only talk about being trannies. It's like any guy who puts on a dress makes his entire life about it.

do a search on ebay. You can get fake asses and tits and hips.

I'm thinking about buying some for like a vampirella costume.

Which reminds me, has anyone here actually purchased and used any of these expensive girly parts on ebay?

kinda, yeah.

something doesn't stop being gatekeeping because one side feels really justified.

Those fucking old cunts that got alcohol banned for a while were still gatekeepers, regardless of how justified they thought they were.

Crossplay always make me sad because I know I can't be as cute as other guys. What's even the point if people can immediately tell I'm male and everyone just sees me as a freak?

It's blocked for your own safety idiot, it's so someone with a fetish who doesn't really need it doesn't completely irreversibly change their body and then 10 years later regret it when they look like neither gender, don't have functioning genitals, and decide to kill themselves because they weren't stopped.

Thank god we have gatekeepers to prevent us from harming ourselves.

I wish we cared this much about other forms of mental illness.

I'm looking to buy/make a crossplay costume for my ... friend, but I have no idea where to start, how to get into this. How does one translate mens measurements to women's clothing.

>> No.9993718

>>9993702
you can buy a woman's piece of clothing and just pad it, or you can have one custom made for example here: https://www.cosplayshopper.com/

For 15 bucks extra they'll customize it your specifications and you can specify either male or female fit

Nayrt, but yes, it does. /cgl/ didn't and to some extent still doesn't like. It got slightly better after the crossplay general thread established, but generally it is wiser not to mention you're a guy (unless you're f.e. greentexting some stories and mentioning crossdressing is necessary for context).

>>9993702
>How does one translate mens measurements to women's clothing.
You don't even try to translate fixed clothing sizes, because it's almost certain that they'll look ill-fitting since there are no standards how sizes should fit. Get a measuring tape, properly measure your height, shoulder width, bust, underbust, arm length, waist, hips and leg/inseam leg.

The only size that may include some trial and error is the shoe size. Measure your foot length (heel to big toe), the width around the ball of your foot, and try to find a pair that fits. Foot width is important if you have big feet and need wide sizes.
Also OP, please make a new thread. This one's already dying.
