Some Americans find this acceptable but most normal people think they are weird and would not want to date one. Most Lolita women want a boyfriend who can match their clothing by dressing in Ouji fashion or something to match but no Lolita I ever met want their boyfriend in a dress in public.
It is the same as crossdresser but with the added effect of it being crossdresser in Japanese fashion.
It is not that popular there is not that many but when you see one the girls might be nice to them in person but usually talk badly about how weird they are when they aren’t there.
In America right now is popular to be “politically correct” means “accept everyone no matter how weird they are”, so many Americans will not say bad things publically about crossdresser, gay people, extremely Fat people or men who get surgery to become women.
But the people who actually believe this is very few, most just do not say anything publically to avoid being attacked.
I know In China is opposite where you can say what you want openly about somebody being weird but because of so many people being crybabies and wanting the world to find them attractive even though they are freaks, we now have to say what we think only anonymously.

That does definitely happen here, but from what i've noticed they tend to stand out more because western men are more likely to have features like cleft chins and large noses than women and asian men. They also tend to be taller. Some men are better at blending in than others.

Hi Chinese Anon, I'm a man who previously wore lolita fashion. I met Misako Aoki several years ago and she didn't react to me at all, she's met a lot of men who wear lolita.

Some look better than others, depending on how tall they are and how their face look. I'm short and androgynous so I don't stand out. Some date other men, some date women (I have a girlfriend). I live in Europe, in my city there are several men who wears both lolita and aristocrat. Men wearing lolita is considered normal among lolitas in my city.

Several years ago there was a man who came to events who wore lolita, but as a way to creep on girls and for fetish reasons - he was not accepted in any way. If the man who wears lolita is nice, it is considered good, but if he's not nice it is considered bad. /blog post

I am American. There are many men here who wear lolita fashion. I do not like it either, but in America we have to pretend we are OK with men wearing lolita or other lolitas will get mad at us for being "judgemental" or "close-minded".
