See, that's what I was thinking was drawing me to it. Even though she was incorporating colours completely out of the blue, it still seems balanced; really, the only thing that doesn't seem to match is the bag. Weirdly enough, the mustard yellow matches the navy of the dress because they both have the same warmth, but if you were to hear it described, "Oh, I'm gonna wear Misty Sky in navy with a mustard yellow cardigan," you'd be preparing for an ita nightmare. I'm iffy on the shoes, but I think any other colour other than black would throw the balance off. This is what itas think they're going to end up with when they start incorporating normie pieces into coords, but she actually did a good job.

nayrt, that's pretty horrific. Don't use those thick band fluffy eyelashes for lolita, you need a more natural fake eyelash. Even shitty daiso ones are better than that. Also makeup needs to be softer for sweet. Smokey eyes tend to work better for dark classic or gothic. Not saying it can't be pulled off, but either a minimalistic look or a more subtle color would be much better. Not everything is a smokey cut crease eye despite what western youtube tells you.

It’s literally shit tier heavy makeup that looks harsh, aging, and not at all suitable for lolita. She looks like she spackled that foundation on, her eyebrows look like a drag queen’s, and she’s wearing more black eyeshadow than Gerard Way did back in MCR. There's more to color blocking than just that. The shade of the color and shape matter a lot. I have Misty Sky in black and it's a dark shade of purple that doesn't look good with mustard yellow. Hence, why the yellow moon is a neutral yellow. Mustard is too warm and brown to go with it.

From a thematic standpoint, the themes clash, like anon said the baroque madonna + austere nun dont work for me. It's not purple entirely. Next time fully read before arguing. It's black, white, and PURPLE. The thing that doesn't show up in pics is that the clouds are actually purple and white, and it's a deep purple.

If you think color theory is just based on 1 wheel, then you need to relearn. You pair complimentary colors with how "cool or warm" they are.

For example, orange and blue can look nice together or terrible together. Neutral orange(summer orange) can pair with blue, burnt orange(autumn orange) cannot.

Hansa yellow is to summer orange, as mustard yellow is to burnt orange.

Most of these are really nice and would work in the right coord. You don't have to buy all brand everything to look good, and often vintage pieces are of the same quality and aesthetic that lolita is.

Admittedly I don't like the coord in question at all but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with those blouses or trying to use unique pieces in an outfit.

Was being sorta facetious, sorry! What I mean to say is that ALL of her pieces are usually not lolita-specific at all, so when she pairs them all together they come out looking...not lolita.
