That's the problem with male cosplays. Female characters tend to be normal sized so all women need to do is be relatively slim to pull them off. Whereas a man either needs to be a gigantic muscle-bound super being or a lithe beautiful creation that can pass off as a woman. There is nothing in between. Which is why the "best" male cosplays tend to be buff dudes and guys in suits that cover themselves up so you can't see who is in them.

Sure, imo the Josephs that stand out to me the most are the ones with good makeup/costume/wig, as I see a lot of buff men cosplay Joseph, and while they have the right body type, the actual coustume and ever thing else is shitty, which kinda ruins it.

there's also a lot of part 4 characters with a slimmer build but are still not too flamboyant (Rohan [in certain outfits], tonio, and keicho) Also a lot of character's outfits hide their muscles (Josuke, Okuyasu, Kira) so if need be you can use inserts in their jackets/shirts/whatever to get the form of muscles. I know Josuke has platform shoes so that could give you some height, and I think a few other characters wear them too.

Depends on what fucking character you want to cosplay as.
If you want to cosplay as some anime-boy, you have to be a pemashota manlet.
If you want to cosplay as some older anime-boy, you have to be a skelly.
If you want to cosplay as some kind of superhero, you have to roid.
If you want to crossplay, puberty better didn`t hit you hard.

Generaly speaking, you shouldn`t be above 10% bodyfat unless you play some sort of fat character.
You can always artificialy add some volume, but removing something is a lot harder.

Its always a tough question. I avoided cosplay for years due to my own...abnormal bodily structure and fitness issues. Fitness has been a long journey for me. Last year I cosplayed Elias Ainsworth from Ancient Magus Bride, and went well, but...

Right now I'm shooting for the fucking moon.

All Might. Muscle form. No muscle suit. No platforms. I've never seen anyone pull this off but I adore the character and feel like I might as well.

I'm 6'8" and 275 lbs so far (muscle, not fat - I'm a weight lifter). If all goes well I should be 300 lbs (and more toned up) by Youmacon in November.

Is this big enough? Could I actually pull this off?

Less than you might think. My squats and deadlifts are limited by a bad back - a consequence of my abnormally long torso and bad posture that I've corrected in recent years. Bench and overhead press are tricky as well given my outrageously long armspan, which demands a much longer range of motion, ergo: more work.

That said those are some of the core lifts I work on regardless. I'm able to lift well over 200 pounds in any of those lifts and could probably break 300 for my squat and deadlift pretty easily for a rep or two but I don't want to risk injury, something I've learned the hard way before.

Still, always making progress, always moving forward. Gotta go plus ultra!

The goal isn't "look literally as shredded and jacked as all might" so much as "hey, that looks like a real-life all might." The best I can do is look passably large/large enough. 6'8" and a broad shouldered build puts me at an advantage, and I've got a solid base of muscle that I'm continually building up. But all might is cartoonishly massive. My plan is to take advantage of my genetic sweet spot size wise to actually "pull off" the costume without a muscle suit - even of it looks like a more "realistic physique" than full on anime all might.

Definitely not the muscular type. My bf is really fit and muscular and he struggles finding characters to cosplay. They rarely exist. Either theyre skinny twinks or theyre extremely hypermuscular like Zangief. The closest we found to his body type is the president of the body improvement club from mob psycho 100 or Hairo from Saiki K (even then hes still a very twinkish looking character).
