How's my local con's maid cafe line up look?

fat

Are they volunteers or paid? If they're volunteers, they're doing pretty alright! Sticking with black and white is a good way of keeping everyone coordinated without requiring a specific uniform, and the matching neck ties are cute. I think including a more prominent splash of color on each girl would be better, and having a coordinated theme with the accessories of each outfit, not just like a random flower or crown. Girl in the center back needs some accessories badly. They should also all be helping each other out with hair, makeup, and posing so they can be as cute as possible. For the record I'm not talking about their weight, I know that can't be quickly changed (and I think chubby maids are cute anyway). But the stuff that can be easily changed like style, makeup, etc could definitely use improvement. And if they're paid workers, they definitely need to step it up with an official matching uniform.

I'm gonna be brutally honest with you.
Top left is decent if she puts a petti on, top center looks like she legitimately has Down and top right has an awful outfit (wtf are those sleeves?) ,meh face, and a retarded crown.
Moving on the bottom row, black girl needs to go and so does tumblr chan. Fat maids aren't attractive unless they have big boobs and a cute face. Also last one looks like Dudley Dursley in drag.

I think the deco music themed one has the cutest outfit! She has themed accessories and a few different visual clues to her gimmick. The splashes of color look balanced (I like the colored tights with the black and white dresses) and she looks happy to be there!

The matching neckties are a really good idea for a con cafe where other attendees can just cosplay maids. Last year at my local con two of the maids were just Chocola and Vanilla cosplayers and they didn't match the rest of the group at all even though they took time to learn the dances and stuff.

Any recommendations for decent looking maid uniforms that aren't expensive as candy fruit or milky ange, but aren't cheap bodyline? I'm looking for something inbetween here but so far were shit out of luck. Taobao doesn't seem to have much and when they look tacky.

It’s safe to assume that every maid cafe organizer has a maid fetish, and you can’t blame them for wanting the maids to actually be cute.

Why do they always get fat uggos? Why don't they choose girls like Hooters girls and just put them in maid dresses and natural makeup? And don't tell me Hooters girls wouldn't be interested, they aren't interested in football or baseball but the job pays well so they do it no prob, as long as you pay them and aren't a creep they can take on a maid cafe job too.

Plus they have serving/customer service/waitressing abilities... unlike a vast majority of weebs at con cafes.

Not them but you got links or anything?

>> No.10107430

Probably a money issue. Most maid cafes run on volunteers who might get paid tips or profit (if there is any) but since most maid cafe patrons are broke weebs who hesitate to spend more than $10 on the experience, there just aren't the funds to hire real waitresses. Sure you could try, and make it a selling point that the maids are actually attractive and have customer service skills, but I doubt it would attract that many more customers especially for the increased cost of entry. The kind of people who want to attend a maid cafe at an anime con will generally do so whether or not the maids are cute.

its one thing for them to be cute, but I like a variety when it comes to women.
as far as maid cafes go its

>girls look the same because some dude has a fetish
>girls are all ugly

its always a pick one situation. I would like to see a maid cafe that has the adorable tall thin girl, a short thicc girl, a kawaii moe girl, a tsundere.. so on. people of different shapes and sizes but who are all cute, because customers have different tastes.

>> No.10107542

>>10107430

You are joking right? I have been to a couple of pop ups and there are no shortage of weeb patrons spending well over $30 through a combination of food, entertainment and some lottery based mementos. Guest tend to splurge once you realize maid cafes are like hostess club where the golden rule is cash is king and just paying an entrance fee and food wont get you far.

For example You pay 5 for a cheki, you pay 5 to play games with the maid, you give these geeks a discount experience that normally involve 15 dollar highballs and 5 dollar draft lager and that is on the cheap scale. I have seen guys who was willing to buy multiple drinks just for a chance of a drink coaster of their favorite maid or paying the equiv of a gatcha roll to get multiple photos of their bias.

Even if you mention hooters, the goal of a hostess club/cafe is to make the patron feel important. Sex appeal only goes so far if you cant connect with the girl.

So I will disagree, the idea of a broke weeb may apply to smaller towns but big cities has no shortage of patrons who can afford the full experience. The only question is selling the experience to others

>> No.10107577

>>10107542
No, I'm not joking. I'm actually pleasantly surprised to hear that there are cafes in your area that are that popular. It seems like all the ones at conventions in my region of the country are failing, many conventions have stopped having one entirely, and even the big cons have issues getting people to drop money on the experience.

>> No.10107623

>>10107577

Thanks for the compliment. Really the effort is all due to the people who started this having experience with Maid Cafes in Japan and having the knowledge passed on to business oriented cons.

The one went to usually did a pop up at a popular weeb spot on VDay and White Day along with their actual cons. That meant they have a specialized catering facility with staff that knew how to prepare food worth paying for. I know conventions are stingy as they have non competitive clauses, but a cafe pop up have decent returns given the usual spending is $5-10 vs $20-45.

Another major point most maid cafes forget is just serving your guests and giving love spells isnt enough. They want to be pampered and have some fun socializing with the maids. A maid should have an alternate personality that lets her distinguish herself from the other maids competing for the patrons affection. For example, my previous experience with a new maid on her very first time working at a maid cafe but had previous experience working at restaurants. So I brought out her inner geek by creating some common ground and encouraged her to have an alternative personality to use when she is a maid. Immediately after I had her perform a love spell using her alternative persona and it was more than just a regular love spell as she was into it.

This is all mostly from personal experience though. I am no business expert but seeing the maid cafes do well here is a strong point our con community can count on.

The main reason why I've never gone to a maid cafe at a con isn't the cost of entry, but more the long lines that they always seem to gather. If I could go to the maid cafe when I felt hungry instead of having to wait in line for an hour to get in there, it'd be a different story.

>> No.10107908

>>10106349
A meme.

>> No.10108871

>>10107655

This is when Demand outpaces Supply. Every Weeb out there want the maid cafe experience because nothing like this exist and is finacially viable. A con at one point can support these kinds of business but most of them dont know how to actually run it like an actual business. Practicing by hosting events at local cafe hangouts like the maid cafe I went to helps. The spot we have our popup at every year is already a weeb gathering spot. It was just a matter of making the place more intimate and putting out a special event menu and it was up to the maids to make the actual magic happen.

That experience then transfers to the actual con cafes as they realize you have to be more socially engaging than a waitress at a popular restaurant. So even if the con food is decidedly mediocre the maids help make it easier to stomach.
