>You Preregistered?

Final discussions happening near con time
>How are you guys holding up with life / work / school until the con arrives?
Wanna quit but need the money for rent and the con
>You saving up for the con?
>How’s your AX fund jar doing so far?
Important shit on lockdown (food, hotel, gas)
>You got your work PTO approved?
Months ago
>Any setbacks so far until the con?
Other than work, need to quickly fix my cosplay
>Cosplay Day 0/1/2/3 plans?
Mostly a chill con
>Are you concerned about the state of AX now with the lackluster lineup this close to con?
>What are your dream guests?
Hiroyuki Sawano, Studio Trigger, Aggretsuko creators and cast
>What are your dream events?
Aggretsuko concert with Jamison Boaz (the English metal voice for Retauko)
>What’s your plans?
Hang and shit
>Are you going to the Aqours concert? If so, you gotten your tickets? If you’re not, you crying in the corner?
Not anymore.
>What (or who) do you think can save Anime Expo this year or is Anime Expo this year beyond saving?
It’s kinda beyond saving, since announcing a concert at the Microsoft Theater now would be moot at this point.

If I go, I'm going in solo (though some folks I know from Fanime are going) and I didn't really enjoy Fanime. Half the new anime I don't recognize, either. Should I even come on down, or just spend my money on Anime Midwest or Supercon?

Best is to check way before and ask where the line starts and when they allow people to start lining up for said event, then get there earlier than that by a bit.

Am I missing anything for musical events and concerts or is there only idols at AX this year? One year there was AKFG in the surrounding venues but I don't think I even saw any concerts around the area this year. There was also Miss monochrome but I didn't see her in the scheduling this time. No vocaloids like Luka, anything. I don't think I'm going last minute this year, I usually come for the music but not really for the idolfagging, or at least only the idolfagging. Oh I also did not see anything about raves at night. Neon district was great.
Sometimes it can not be helped. I understand having to save money, I went to a budget hotel 20 minutes away one year to save money. I would only be going just to hang out myself and I only have cosplays from previous years. Even then I still feel some regret in not going.
Not them and not really a panel person but I enjoy ones that interview guests from Japan that I like such as artists, VAs, and occasional other, shows/games/industry I'm interested in that may give out free stuff, and musical events that aren't official concerts.

>> No.10193886

Miss Monochrome only happened because a company was trying to promote their MMD clone so ponied up the cash two years in a row for bringing over Hocchan.

Though with how much of a flop last year was due to 95% of the "concert" being people waiting for the Overlord premiere right after, and them probably not having much money to blow after fruitless spending the last two years, I doubt it'll happen again.

That said, iirc both times they announced activities with under a month to go (probably why her panels were in such tinyass rooms that were filled with premieres alone). So it COULD still happen. I'd much rather see Hocchan again than Aqours at least. At least she's actually relevant instead of being a cancer on the industry.

>> No.10193890

With all the $$$ you’d spend on airfare, room, pass, food, merch, AND a trip to Disneyland you’d might as well save it and plan a trip to japan. Getting a flight to Los Angeles this time of year is anything but cheap I’d imagine, and especially with trying to find a room this late in the season. I'm not going to lie, I'm part of the problem. I bought tickets for both days but I'm considering selling my day 1 in favor of other events taking place on Friday.

Technically the novo has a total for the two days of 4800. Microsoft theater has a max of 7100 but didn't sell out (the mezzanine seats) so the ticket sales are probably similar

>> No.10197271

It's not a problem for fans to want to go both days, hell, any hardcore fan should want to go to any and every concert of their favorite act.

I'm guessing they'd just rather be able to brag that they completely sold out instead of what happened last year - where they sold out, opened up nosebleed seats, couldn't sell out of those, and ended up at like 90% sold instead.

Performing in a fully sold out venue in the US sounds a lot better than whatever total head count there is in a larger one that doesn't sell out. Not like anyone in Japan knows the difference between Staples Center, Microsoft Theater, or the Novo.

At the end of the day, all these concerts and guests are just Japanese executives taking turns putting their dicks on the table over who can bring the bigger and better act.

>> No.10197301

I haven't personally purchased one, but in general no. If anything, the prices would be hiked up before sales.

What is Mega64 anyway? I saw them on the schedule, but I either didn't read the description or there wasn't one.

>Bunny Girl Senpai movie

Which one should I catch up on (haven’t started MHA S3 yet) so I can be well prepared for these events?

>MHA s4 premiere is on day 3 from 10 am to 12 pm in the main events hall
>Danmachi s2 premiere is also on day 3, starts at 11:30 am and is also in the main events hall
I am so confused. I guess AX fucked up the scheduling? I'm just trying to see if I can camp in the main events hall before the Euphonium movie, which is apparently at 12:30 pm for now

>> No.10197390

Never mind, Sentai made a typo according to www.anime-expo.org/2019/06/07/fujino-omori-creator-wrong-try-pick-girls-dungeon-joins-ax-2019/

>> No.10197406

You won't be able to camp for Hibike because the preceding MHA event will have some form of restricted entry due to overwhelming demand.

>> No.10197416

I'm hoping most of the MHA s4 attendees leave afterward then. I don't imagine the MHA and Euphonium fanbases having a lot of overlap. Honestly, I don't really see the main events hall being filled to the brim for the Euphonium movie so I hope I'll be fine

>> No.10197423

I'll be in line with you. Hopefully having the US premiere less than a week later will reduce the turnout, too.

>> No.10197424

So if anyone has a premiere pass and is willing to buy the zero two figure for me, please hit me up

>> No.10197441

It's a bit weird how AX has been keeping the guests secret for both the movie premiere and the special guest talk show too. They still haven't formally announced the Euphonium panels either. Oh well, whatever helps reduce the turnout, I guess.
When do you plan on lining up? I was thinking 1-1.5 hours ahead. I camped in LP2 for 2 hours for Liz last year since there was nothing better to do and it ended up being a bit overkill iirc
