Exactly what the thread title says, post coordinates with majority solids or simple prints (slightly printed socks or dresses with printed fabric like polkadots, plaid, gingham and appliques are okay okay), no fancy named prints welcome!

I have a medium sized lolita wardrobe. My closet is divided about evenly, half prints, half solids in main pieces. I'm tall and I don’t like to spend a whole lot of money but I do like brand main pieces best so my strategy is this: I try to stick to my 3 best colorways in both prints and solids for main pieces, adding accent colors with accessories only and I scour the secondhand markets. Most of my main pieces are brand but I have a decent amount of off brand accessories, blouses and shoes. Some design replicas but no print replicas.

Even divided
Easier to coordinate solids because I can add more colors, different blouses and use more printed socks
I avoid faded blacks, weird non-standard lolita colors.

I think my wardrobe is 2/3 print, 1/3 nonprint.
>Do you think its easier or harder to coordinate solids?
Not at all. In some ways I think it can be simpler, especially if you're only using one or two colors in the coordinate. Bringing in more than two colors, or having two very contrasting/unique colors can be a fun challenge though.
>When shopping for solids, what do you look for or avoid?
I really like solids that have extra construction details (like pintucking, jacquard or textured fabric, etc), and detachable bows that I can move around the coord are a huge plus.

I only have two non-print pieces, but I am working on trying to get more.

I think it depends on the kind of wardrobe you have and the amount of cardigan and blouse variety available to you.

The same thing I look for in prints, whether or not the cut will look flattering to me. I don't like extremely busy designs, I like pintucks, ribbon and bow detailing.

Unironically equal ammounts. Now that's interesting, never noticed before.

Easier. I can throw colours together, sprinkle some accesories to pull everything together and have areas of focal interest. I wear mainly gothic, with a touch of sweet so I might be living on easy mode here

I look for a flattering waist design, easy to coord neckline (not weird high neck jsks for me), material (cotton) and build/sewing/how many add ons it has (for example, a build in petticoat). And I will avoid side zippers/corset pannels like the plague.

Definitely not. I think there are some retarded gulls who see solid coords and instantly think casual, just because there are no busy prints. But as coords such as >>10203924 and >>10203898 show, you can wear solids in a very OTT way.

Casual = less jewelery, no high heel/platform shoes, no huge petti, no fancy wigs, less accessories etc. I don't know why this concept is so hard to fathom for some lolitas.
