The thing with fashion styles, even the more strongly defined ones, is that there's no hard line separating what is and isn't part of that style. This dress is based on Marie Antoinette's chemise a la reine, which places it squarely in the rococo era, and lots of lolita dresses are inspired by rococo, so from that standpoint it can be lolita. On the other hand, many lolita brands have produced dresses that aren't necessarily lolita, like Surface Spell and their medieval velvet gowns. So ultimately, it comes down to styling and personal opinion.

Something can be inspired by historical fashion and still be lolita. If you look at the specs, the dress isn't long enough (in sleeves or skirt length) to be a proper historical fashion replica. It's in the vein of classical lolita, in my opinion, especially if you style it a certain way.

The sleeves of contemporary chemise a la reine gowns have longer proportions and are intended to end past the elbows. The sleeves on the linked gown barely hit the elbows. It's a chemise a la reine inspired gown, not a historical replica.

I had that happen before with mine even though I ordered with them probably 10 times a year. It was a huge hassle to get them to resend it without charging me to resend it because the problem was on their end. My account address was right and I paid with paypal so it matched my account address as well.

It's going to depend on a lot of factors, like the markup applied by the ali seller and the weight of your items. The SS sheet isn't super current (last update in 2017) but as far as I can tell most SS on it are still active. And yes, you will need a SS, most taobao stores only ship within China.

Still looking for heels something like these (other colors ok) on taobao or elsewhere. I found some with one strap and similar cutwork detailing a while ago on taobao but I cant remember the brand (indie lolita brand) and can’t find them again because I don’t know what search terms to use. I got my rocking horse shoes after nearly two months of waiting. The box they came in was absolutely ruined, but the shoes are perfect.

I’ll remember to post link but basically I got bodyline shoes from the factory that used to make them for them.

Feels so good. And they fit!

I used to use Taobaotrends all the time until my computer flagged the site for some reason around a year ago (chrome said it wasn't secure). I've used taobaoring/42agent since, they're a good realiable alternative, although more expensive. They have good communication, do free pics, and mark down packages too. I really miss Taobaotrends though, it sucks to hear that they're closing.

I used to use yoybuy for a few items that would mess up tt's cart system, and I wouldn't recommend yoybuy at all, really expensive and they'd refuse to buy a lot of stuff, even with the paypal workaround trick. Don't know if they're still around, so I just thought I'd put that out there.

I got a stimulus check today, and I super wasn't expecting it because I'm 18 and live with my parents... Pretty bad if you're in America unless you want to pay extra for what little fast shipping methods are available.

I had to go with SAL with mine and it's been in Beijing since April 25.
Japan is just as bad as well. Pic related.

DHL seems to be the best thing possible. I've had two DHL packages that both got to me from overseas within the week.

I'm a little pissed off with an order I just received from yoybuy. My package got delivered over to my sisters place on Tuesday for mailing reasons , seeing as how i knew it got delivered I deiced to mark the parcel as confirmed. I finally got the package from my sister on Friday and opened it , but to my surprise one item was't there. I wrote to yoybuy services and this morning they told me " you marked for it 3 days ago and if I could weigh the items for them and show it to them ".

What does that have to do with me just wanting to know if one of my items was mistakenly marked as sent and is just in the pile of unsent items. like WTF yoybuy sometimes you can be total trash.

Has anyone had an experience like this , if so what did you do ? How did you have them find your item ? if they even tried to at all.
