Corona has caused a pretty drastic change in my cosplay “life,” beyond just not going to cons. Last year I went to the most cons I’ve ever been to in a single year, and made the most costumes I’ve ever made in a single year. All this year I haven’t been to a single con and haven’t worked on a single costume. I haven’t kept up with my local community like I used to either. I haven’t been dreaming up new cosplans or anything of the sort. I’ve been pursuing other hobbies and finding a lot of enjoyment in them. I don’t want to stop cosplaying, but it’s hard to care when there’s not much on the horizon to look forward to and every other con this year I was anticipating has been cancelled. It wouldn’t surprise me if I no longer feel the desire to get back into cosplay/cons once everything is back to normal.

I have a small group of friends and we all enjoy lolita fashion and used to meet up often. But since corona, I've realized that the only thing we have in common is the clothes. We are definitely in different places in our lifes. Damn.. they are too shallow and inmature... Some of them are almost 30 and aren't doing anything with their lifes or have any aspiration aside from buying dresses with daddy's or boyfriend's money, fight with each other over stupid stuff and check their instagram accounts to get their self esteem boost. I've considered cutting ties and just enjoy the fashion by myself (which I am already comfortable doing), and spend more time with my "normie" friends, instead of wasting time with virtual tea parties and with people that I don't relate at all. But I don't know if it's a good idea. I'm afraid they will resent it and start talking shit behind my back.

I was out today with my girlfriend on one of our rare trips to a shopping centre, she's got a few chronic illnesses which make her nervous about spending too much time in crowded places given Covid. As we were leaving, there was a queue for the lift and we lined up. There was two big signs saying only 2 people in the lift at any one time. So we get in a lift and another guy gets in with us. I tell him he has to get out because 2 people rule.

Long story short, it ends with me yelling at this guy for a minute or two to get out of the elevator because my girlfriend is at risk and he needs to wait for the next one. He eventually gets out after he realises I will not back down.
