Nayrt but I think any country with a lot of socialized programs could be considered partially socialist. I think most people's ideal is the definition of socialism where it's basically capitalism but with basic needs taken care of, so people have the freedom to innovate and do more but also no one has to starve or die cause they can't afford cancer treatment or whatever. Like Japan, Canada, Britain, a lot of Europe, etc. have socialized healthcare (well the UK has like, government-run healthcare specifically, not just government-funded, right?)

>Let me explain for simpletons. Listing an item high means I expect to get OFFERS on it. I in no way expect this to sell for the asking price, that would be ridiculous. I'm more than happy to negotiate a much lower price for people who act kindly, and respecfully, and not like a pack of haggard harpies who literally have nothing better to do with their time than bully people online because of their own ignorance. Please, find something meaningful to do with yourselves, have better self-worth than to throw your time away on being so bitter. It's really ugly. I've made over $50,000 across multiple selling platforms in the last year, I know what I'm doing. I'm also not desperate to sell my stuff, I actually have a real life where I make real money, and live a meaningful existence. I can only hope you get there evtually. That's not most people. That's USA zoomers and late milenials. And only partially. Rest wants socialism for real.

>Like Japan, Canada, Britain, a lot of Europe, etc. have socialized healthcare (well the UK has like, government-run healthcare specifically, not just government-funded, right?)

No one sane call any of this countries socialist or partially socialist. These countries are capitalist as fuck. Socialism is not social programs. Mixing these two things is a dangerous political illiteracy. Most of European public health care is shitty and low quality BTW. Literally everyone serious about their health pays for private healthcare anyway.

I think the confusion comes from Nordic model, a capitalist but yet social democratic country. It's hard for Americans to get that publicly owned healthcare, education and transportation is not socialism. Yeah public healthcare is shit in most European countries. But these countries are also generally shit. Believe me, there are countries where majority of the people uses public and when it's something more serious than flue nothing else is even available. But again, Nordic model is Nordic for a reason. t. a friend who barely escaped communism

I genuinely don't know anyone but a couple super extreme people supporting legit socialism and communism, and in school in some places as kids some of us are taught that socialism is like a system in between communism and capitalism (they don't call it the best of both worlds on purpose or even qualify any economic system as best but I think a lot of people take away that it is theoretically a happy medium and don't learn much more about it beyond basic high school facts)

Also in Japan socialized medicine is fucking great. Good socialized programs aren't exclusive to Nordic countries. I heard in Taiwan it's really cheap and convenient as well even for smaller things but idk about the quality. The issue seems to be not that socialized medicine or similar things are objectively bad, but that a majority of governments are incapable of doing a good job with it or hospitals are just running horribly inefficiently. Even in the US with no real public option, healthcare is still slow AND painfully expensive. Unless you're injured or sick to the point an ambulance needed to take you there, you aren't getting seen in the ER in a bigger city without hours of waiting, and smaller ERs outside of the hospital exist but can be more likely to be out of network and don't have equipment or machines to run tests like a real full on hospital anyway.

Technically you can have lolita socialism if all the workers agree that wearing frilly dresses is the best, and those who manage sewing in society say, "I'll gladly support frilly dresses for everyone to contribute my part of society." You can actually have lolita and socialism, but it would have to be valued by the whole of the society & not a few individuals.

>>10572631
By all means you can have a frilly USSR if that USSR decided that frilly dresses were not unnecessary & reflected the imagined values of the people. Everyone would have to have access to those frilly dresses though, and they could not have a price tag that makes them only acquirable by an elite class.

Sorry, they're incompatible by definition. "To each according to their needs." NEEDS. Not wants. Any kind of luxurious hobby or fashion would be seen as unnecessarily decadent. Plus, collectivism tends to frown upon individual expression. Young dumb "socialists" and "Marxists" think they know what they want. They're going to be awfully sorry if they ever actually get it.
