Late 20s and 30s people may be reading new Harry Potter stuff or things like Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's perspective) out of nostalgia since they were kids or teens when it was at peak popularity. I know millennials as a generation in particular are often obsessed with HP.

I still read new books from authors I liked as a teen if they seem interesting out of nostalgia and curiosity where old characters have gone or how their writing has changed on occasion.

Also with cringe culture dying down a bit, a lot of people are just enjoying things they never felt like they could without being judged as a kid. Especially things that were deemed stupid or dumb or bad just because a majority of its audience was teen girls (even if those things were problematic in other ways, most people hated it because it was stuff for "dumb girls")

I absolutely plan on wearing lolita to my wedding. I disagree with the anti-white dress sentiment ITT since I'm tan as fuck and I find white is one of my better colors (I might just wear pink anyways though kek). I've seen the wedding releases from both brands and although I am a diehard APfag I prefer Baby's OTT bridal styles more. I find it really unique too that Baby does MTO on those styles so you can customize it to your liking. Also, bridal dresses in lolita actually seem to be more affordable than normie-adjacent designers. I'd rather wear an intricate, detailed style that I feel comfortable in and makes me feel like a true princess over shelling out $5-10k for a design that is 10x more boring and 20x less sentimental.

At this point I've had both doses of the coronavirus vaccine, and at least a few people in my comm have been vaccinated as well (mostly people who work essential jobs). By when do you gulls think it will be safe to resume having IRL meetups? I hope that soon it will be safe to at least have outdoor meetups (like picnics where people can sit spaced out on separate blankets) or indoor meetups where we wear masks the whole time (like trips to museums or ice rinks).

The way Baby runs their reservations, if it sells out fast enough then they'll usually run a second, even a third round if the second is also a bloody bloodbath (the shipping dates are later than the first round). If the third round is also a blood bath they also put stock up in the store when it goes live, and I've even seen them restock bloodbath dresses randomly after everything is released and shipped.

If the release wasn't bloodbathy enough to run a second round of reservations I doubt an MTO would earn them all that much more money.

Honestly that's the best case I've heard for it so far. Wedding dresses immediately depreciate in value the moment you buy them because of the pressure to buy things firsthand and altered to fit. There is a prominent secondhand market, but its a hard sell. Lolita dresses tend to hold their value, and in some cases even appreciate. And if you did want to keep it and wear it again to a lolita event, you totally could. Wedding dresses are so much harder to wear a second time. They're basically trash or a souvenir after the first wear.

I wouldn't wear a lolita dress for my wedding but I like the idea.

1. Country: I have a thing for berry and fruit prints and it probably makes up 1/4 of my wardrobe. I'd just add in some florals for good measure. Also, more straw hats and bags.

2. Sailor: Another 1/4 is already sailor or marine/shell theme. If I added some sailor styled tops and more accessories I could probably wear this most of the time. But I really love a good simple sailor coordinate.

OMG I hope this sells well / starts a trend. Embroidery machines are super advanced at this point and it would not be hard for other brands to start doing this too at a reasonable manufacturing cost. It might sound nutty, but I'd like to see some re-releases of the more "meh" AP prints but with embroidery overlayed to enhance / embellish the print. the pale colors are so low-contrast it's hard to see the embroidery, and the black is so high-contrast that it's hard to focus on the embroidery. Said it before, but I think the benefit of embroidery could also be to rerelease screenprinted things as embroidered or with a combo of embroidery and applique instead like PC or even cotton screenprint pieces. Would allow for rereleases without messing with the value of the original and AP could get a feel for it and start making more new stuff with it. It bended from just hanging from my neck and when I bended it back it snapped. It's ridiculously soft. To be honest I have older Moitie jewellery which also bends easily and looks thin and cheapish. Tin is a very soft material to begin with. I have Alchemy Gothic jewellery made out of that which tends to bend and break like in this description and to be fair it's not only 30€ for some pieces. The Candelabra charms have always been terrible quality. Even the old ones bend and break easily. Must say MmM charms have never been that great. I have an old cross bracelet and the cross charm broke instantly. It felt fragile and cheap to begin with and never survived its first wear. Luckily it is still cute without the cross.

Then AP dropped DDC and suddenly I had a DD again.

(In case you think I'm exaggerating about a brand new release being a sudden DD. I got two SS to get different colourways for me, set alarms for myself to storm the webshop and actually did get something because I spent the entire weekend refreshing the page long after everyone else gave up (I couldn't sleep anyway. The release ate my brain) Then also bought some other stuff in the MTO (mainly wristcufs and accessories that I was too slow with). DDC was a very serious crush for me, even if it was just a new release).

Lolita fashion communities do have some traces of racism, homofobia and any other prejudices that you might think of because it isn't deatached to the racist, homofobic, prejudiced world we live in. This is such a simple concept that people fail to understand, and this is also what makes those opression structural and not simply one individual being mean to another because whatever.

Anyway, it is less oppressive than your average whatever normie community, same as almost any other alternative space, and this is good. It's one of the places I feel confortable talking about being bissexual and wouldn't really expect anyone to give me shit because of it.

I understand advocating for your rights and for lolita spaces to be even less bigoted than they already are, but I really don't get it when people are talking about "blatant racism and transphobia inside the comunity", there are never real exemples or discussion about it either. Yes, it happens here on cgl, but this is 4chan, no one should be taking this site seriously and the fact that people are scared enough that they only show bigotry in anonimous spaces isn't exactly what the accountability discourse is about? People being afraid of being assholes?

Also, why is Tyler being considered some kind of demon right now?
