Basically they ran three events at once - one was for Tokfest for tiktokers, kidtropolis for kids and of course Megacon. The advertising made out those paying for Megacon would get access to all three - this was not allowed on the day pissing a lot of people off. Also the event was very dead and barely even advertised beforehand. Also a lot of people from tokfest were making fun of and harassing the cosplayers

Secret Con was great. CosXpo was so stuck up it's own arse but personally I prefer the idea of an invite only con if it means shitters and chavs don't come. Pretty much this, UK scene is just kinda rotten. Gulls are pretty symptomatic of that.
They obsess over small events that the same 200-odd people turn up to every time, and shit on anything larger or having ambitions beyond existing in a travel lodge lobby.

I can honestly say the best ran, organised and thought out con in the UK outside of MCM is the UK Games Expo, their con game is great and improves every year thanks to a great team with ambition. But britgulls don't talk about it because the same cliques don't show up and admittedly cosplay is somewhat relegated to a tiny stage that's somewhere behind the bring and buy.

I enjoyed it, it has its drawbacks but Sunny always does.

The start was terrible as always, opening ceremony at 12:30 but they open the doors to VIP only at 12:00, we were in the first half of the queue and we still didn't get inside until 13:00.
Not very many panels, but mostly you go to see the cringe-fanfiction panel and the cringe-hentai panel either way which I found entertaining.
Games room was actually really nice this year, I think a little less stuff around but that made much more room and made it feel like a better space.
Dealers room was good as always, a huge variety of stuff although no manga to be found, the fudge stall is great, lots of comfy stuff and I was thrilled to see only a single stall was shilling Funko Pop figures.
Lots of people, which can either be good or bad based on your opinion, although sunday was quiet.
Lots of nice cosplayers around although I missed watching the competitive competition because it was so rammed I didn't bother.

Looking forward to Toko this year too.
