Years ago I put together this costume based on The Scarecrow from the Batman Arkham Asylum game.
There was a girl who played with my daughter and I had no idea she had a serious fear of needles.
I found out about it pretty quickly, tho; because she was suddenly hiding in a corner behind the kitchen counter, hyperventilating and starting to sob.
I felt pretty bad about that.
Anyway, if I can find the parts (I've moved twice since then) I may reprise the role.

The glove was constructed from a surplus army chemical glove, flat tipped lab syringes, surgical tubing, adjustable pipe clamps, and some small plastic bottles.
The mask used a burlap sandbag, a painter's dust mask, and I think it was 550 cord that I used for the "stitching" at the mouth.

Which costume?

>> No.10880993

I can't think of anything to do this year. What would an easy costume be for a lolita that won't require buying much of anything one doesn't already have?

>> No.10881265

>>10880993
- "Haunted doll" (just makeup)
- Jellyfish (attach some fabric tendrils to your petticoat)
- Alice (obvious)
- Misa from Death Note, Perona from One Piece... whatever other obscure anime lolita you like.
- Ghost or ghostly bride (shiro)
- Any animal you have an ear headpiece for (cat, bunny, bear, etc.)

Depending on your wardrobe you might also be able to do sailor girl, nurse, witch, or maid (or butler, in ouji).

If you pick a character who wears a dress and has a recognizable enough colour palette (eg. most Disney princesses) you can get away with doing a coord based on them. It helps to have the same hair colour/length/style.

If you're hanging out with other lolitas and you own Moitie, you can just straight up be Mana.

Final option: Just wear a normal coord and ask people to guess what you are. Whatever they say, say "Wow, exactly! You got it right!" and move on.

I didn’t think I was going to do a costume this year since I’m a grown man and I don’t get invited to parties but I’m working at a Halloween store and we needed to dress up on the weekends so I got a white morph suit mask and did a classic Slender man

going to an event where costumes are not allowed (to not confuse attendees with performers) and realized I could maybe get away with a subtle Horror anime Cosplay. Anyone know what kind of jacket this is? (the yellow/orange one)

It's in like a week. Should I bother trying to do a Ramlethal Valentine cosplay or is it too soon to start sewing?

I had a shower thought that probably no one (or at least too few) would get it anyway so there's no point even if I had started sewing a month ago like I planned and then was too lazy for.

(Obviously I'm not going to cart artound two giant swords, I just wanted to do the cloak and hat and wear something white underneath, probably keeping the cloak closed all night. a bit of red dye and some shitty dollar store gloves would suffice for arms and legs)

A basic cloak with a black trim sounds totally reasonable, but it depends on how many days you plan on working on it. Go for it!

Closet cos the parts you don't have, it's halloween no one is judging it for accuracy, have fun with it

looks like a yellow orange rain coat. Hell, I even found something that looks a little close to it in terms of color scheme. shame it doesnt quite match the actual design/pattern.

Just finished this. Mostly paper- mache, using two different patterns I found online (one meant for being printed onto EVA foam, I used that pattern for laying out the eyes/ brow ridge/ mouth). Little wonkier in the end than I would have liked, but this is the first time I've fully thrown myself into something like this.

trying to rush Biker Wario, anyone got good ideas on making a good helmet quickly? currently unwrapping the 3D model of the helmet into an EVA template, but maybe itd be easier to cut a big plastic bowl into shape?

>What are teh eyes made of?
Christmas bulbs that come in halves, gave it a wash of acrylic paint on the inside and stuffed it with bubble wrap and tissue paper for the texture
>>10888551
>Also could you have sanded it?
This is where I made the biggest misstep, I applied a coat of drywall hinge compound to the paper- mache shell, with the intention of sanding it down later. The end results weren't as smooth as the examples I saw online, plus the glossy finish on the spraypaint tends to emphasize the bumps and lumps. Next time, I likely won't bother with the extra compound over the paper mache.

Should have applied a thin coat of bondo and then sand that smooth.
That's what I'm about to do and it's what I've done on past armor projects. Gives the best finish for painting in my opinion.
