This sort of bubbly enthusiasm and the bright colours really suit her, a lot more than the bland, dour-faced stuff she personally shoots. She looks like any random model in these angry bird (wtf?) shots. She manages to make herself look unique in her personal shots. So it is disproportionate.

Labels are eager to hire kotakoti because people recognize her for a distinct look; I almost didn't recognize her in these photos for a second because they didn't retain any of her original aesthetic. I guess I feel like, "why did they even hire her if they were going to style her into someone I don't recognize? Just use a nobody model instead, it's probably cheaper than hiring a trending name." I think she's more suited to hime/lolita/schoolgirl fashion labels.

Anyone can look good (or at least edgy and interesting) with a pink wig and this heavy harajuku color block makeup. On the other hand, lots of people emulate Koti's usual style, but I haven't seen anyone wear it quite as well yet.

They're trying to copy what someone has suited to their face and trademarked. It's hard to make it good because:
A) You have to look like her completely for it to be 'the look'
B) Different face shapes

And a lot of it depends on eye + lid shape moreso.

For example, her natural crease sits high above her eye and lid. I know how to do her makeup and do it very well, but it doesnt look quite the same because my crease is very close to my lid's end (and my face shape is different obviously). The eyeliner I put on, no matter how thin, just gets swallowed up by my crease or ends up looking far too thin for the makeup to show. Drawing on or over the crease, so the eyeliner shows, destroys the actual technique/look.
