I'm mostly lolita but I love some gyaru items (aka floral things, those winged shoes).
Before this, I never had anything happen.
Taobaoring put Coach at the very bottom, but it didn't matter since for some reason they decided to search everything.
I hate big-brand designer things (Coach, Gucci, etc), but my mom loves that kind of shit so she asked me to get her 2 replica purses from Taobao. At least customs didn't destroy my entire package. They just took those items.

Are these masks safe to use? I always receive them from Taobao sellers and eBay Chinese sellers as gifts.
I've gotten like 15 of them. This is the first time I got a full on mask though. I usually get "eye sakura collagen enhancer" or something like that.

I'm sorry for scaring me. This just scared me from ordering brands. I'm really careful with my order from Taobaoring. That order I paid for that had items confiscated was $800. My last order, which arrived just this weekend using SAL, I spent $1,300, however I made sure not to buy any lizlisa or other brands this time. Lolita items are safe. My order that had items missing was full of replicas and accessories. But it's the brands they know about, the "bigger" brands they care about, that they will take if your package is one of the ones that end up getting searched.
But remember, all packages do get opened.

You're welcome. I just wanted to clear the misconception some people have. I don't know about other countries, but I live in USA. I'm sure it wouldn't matter what country one is located, as the packages get opened in China's customs. My packages have never been opened in the USA (I've received over 200 packages total mostly from eBay, but only 7 Taobao packages).

Thanks for letting me know! If this was a legit one, I definitely would not have been so careless with it. It was all gooey as soon as I opened it, with I don't know what kind of liquid, so I kind of just tossed it on my face without opening the mask. There was a "tissue"/paper layer and a plastic layer. The plastic layer didn't have any liquid on it, but the tissue layer did and it acted as a double sided tape with liquid.
It felt really good having it on my face.

梯度 Gradient is a keyword that mostly works for tights. So if you type "Gradient tights", you will get results.
For wigs, because 梯度 isn't a commonly used phrase, it's best to type both color names you are looking for. Yes, this will get you a bunch of split loli wigs, but it will also get you a ton of gradient/faded wigs.

That anon is correct about China's tracking. intmail.83.cn or whatever the address.
(Screenshot is in the Chinese version because I speak better than Mandarin than English).
As you can see, the last update from the tracking was "Dispatched from customs."
The first thing that ever happeend with tracking said "Collecting"
A day after, "Collecting" was replaced with "Opening"
Opening was there for 4 days, and then it was replaced by "Dispatched from customs"

Unlike USPS's tracking, everything with intmail is replaced by the next new status.
I should have screenshotted every individual step before it was replaced to show a timeline.

I'd recommend having the SS stuff the smaller make up items inside of bags or pockets. I had Celestial and Dollypoodle both do that, because they warned me incase the package is searched by customs.
When the customs open it, and the first thing they see right on top is a branded name, they will get suspicious and most likely search/dig through the entire package and repack it. Taobaoring told me this.

fuuuuuuck TR changed their dom fee policies, now I'm paying an extra $50 for that alone.(15 yuan for each item, I have 20, 11 of which are small accessories, most don't exceed 12 yuan.....

I also have a few heavy items, so I'm worried about the international shipping.

I thought they only changed their service fee to 30yuan for the whole order?

Hi everyone. I'm someone who had my package confiscated from customs. I never even received it. I am led to believe that this happened because I ordered replica bags from brands. My order consisted of Gucci and LouiVotton, as well as various lolita garments. My whole package never arrived to me. I used SAL shipping and my SS was Taobaoring. I know they shipped the item, they sent me a photo of the box (with the clear tape and not yellow tape like above anon said).
Chinese customs never updated, and USPS's didn't either. The last thing China's customs said was package in "Opening." It never left "Opening" and I wasn't notified that the package was stolen or destroyed, etc, because I never received it.

Be careful of what you buy guys.

I went into therapy after this (no joke) because of my compulsive shopping, and this whole Taobao haul making me severely depressed with how much money I blew.

Oh, yeah. Taobaoring is sucking more and more each update.
The currency conversion, which may not affect you all very much is a big deal for larger orders. Their higher-ing up the Chinese currency really killed me an extra $100 just from the conversion.
Their service fee has always been stable at 8%, and I hope it stays that way.
And now, the dom fee? I really fucking hate this. A lot of the items I'm receiving are only 6yuan or 8yuan, because they are tiny little bobby pins and other tiny trinkets that are the size of a penny.

Quick guide:
- try to stick to SAL shipping if you can (I believe the maximum limit is 30 kg but I can't find it on China's postal site).

- try to order small accessories/items from ONE (or very few) stores so domestic shipping won't kill you later.

- pick a SS that suits your needs. You have to take into account all the stuff I've put onthe SS spreadsheet depending on your order. I go into a bit more detail about this on the "Which SS to pick" part of the spreadsheet but even then that doesn't take into account EVERYTHING (i.e. forms of payment, taking pics of your orders, the stuff I put in the general checklist)

- I personally like making a spreadsheet of potential stuff I want. I assume the worst (as in domestic shipping will be separate instead of combined from the same shop) and make columns. See pic.

I assume your bag isn't a replica of a BIG brand like Viv or something right? You'll be fine with SAL. EMS won't be worth it for your small order. If you use any other company, SAL will still be opened (BUT NOT NECESSARILY INSPECTED THOROUGHLY).

Attached is my links. They're really messy, and not organized at all. What I do is put a category (i.e. this is the fake nails category) and have a bunch of links under that. I don't like the thing WordPad does when you have pictures in the document, it makes scrolling really difficult.

I can resize/crop the photo myself, I just mean a way to organize items so I get a visual of what it looks like, instead of a description.
I'm more attracted to pictures than words, when it comes to shopping.

It won't update after that until it's delivered. Believe me. I was freaking out because my package said "Inbound out of customs" for days, and I was scared my package was lost. It didn't provide a location in the field, so I started panicking. WELL... Next day I received the package! And then it was updated - after the package was received. I was refreshing the page every ten minutes or so before then. The day I decided NOT to worry about my package was the day I came home from university and received it!
I put my tracking information down.
I live in Portland, and this was the fastest my package has ever arrived to me! Keep in mind, it was at China's post for an entire week before updating from USPS. The total time was 3 weeks (it was mailed on the 20 something).

I know how you feel. I'm in college as well, and God damn paying $5,000 per term leaves you with nothing.
I make my "big" Taobao order ($1,000) every 2 or 3 terms (1-2 times a year) by eating nothing but Top Ramen and Cup Noodles, and only drinking water. My last order, which left me in many tears - I had stuff taken out from customs. I thought items just got lost when I saw the "Repacked by Beijing China Post" tape, but after reading this thread... They must have confiscated items. I imagine I wouldn't have received any notice since the info would be in Chinese and well, not everyone here is Chinese and/or speaks Mandarin.
The items I had taken were NOT Vivienne Westwood. In my order I had DoL replicas, VW (however it was just one item, and it was a floral printed purse without a logo ANYWHERE), and a bunch of Gyaru things. Well, a lot of my LIZLISA items were confiscated. It just seems too much of a coincidence to say that they lost THAT MUCH stuff, unless Taobaoring packed it all together (which they didn't - each item was put into a separate plastic).
So I've asked Taobaoring with my order to have vague/bland stuff at the top, so when they do open my package, it's not suspicious looking, and thus the chance of them searching through my package is less likely.

From the post that anon had about their package, it was opened (and in that case checked thoroughly) because it was shipped via SAL.

Most if not all SAL packages are opened by China's customs but not all of them are thoroughly checked. It depends.

That won't necessarily stop your own country's customs from checking your package for replicas but that's a whole different discussion since different countries have different rules.

This is a long shot but maybe since they serve different countries, they'll have different conversions depending on what country it is being shipped to before being confirmed (this is just a wild guess). Or for a "conspiracy" idea to just throw out there: they keep it in RMB so you don't do the conversion yourself so you overspend and wtf at your order once it is confirmed.

If you suck at math, just use a program to do it. I don't like doing the conversion manually so I do spreadsheets (like the one in the budgeting template I posted earlier in this thread).
