Can we get a worn thread going? I just got babbys first dress, pic related, and I would love a few worn coord ideas.

I find if you're not the exact right body for MM it sits weird. Either you're swimming in it, or it looks like it's about to burst. Good luck OP, sorry I can't be of more help.

>> No.7133630

>>7133615
Not OP, but what are the measurements for the right body for MM?

>> No.7133631

I just purchased AP's tartan heart pocket jumperskirt(the twinkle one from 2007) and I can't even find a stock photo for the red colorway
any worn photos or anything really would be much appreciated

Thanks anon, I have about 3-4 cm leeway in the bust and waist measurements, according to Hello Lace. I've yet to receive it, but I'm really hoping that it will fit nicely.

>> No.7133644

>>7133630

No clue, it has the most to do with the full bust and underbust difference. I really think anything over a 2 inch difference is what breaks it, and anything under is what makes it look like a sack dress. It's just really hard to fit a fully princess seamed bodice perfectly, especially considering they leave a lot of space/empty area to see if it's not fitting perfectly.

>> No.7133663

>>7133644
Do you happen to know if there are any good MM dresses for flat chests? I love MM (that probably goes without saying) and I've never wanted to buy a dress despite loving them so much exactly for this reason. The dresses are really what excite me rather than the skirts...

>> No.7133667

>>7133663
Nope, I only look at them because I'll never fit on top, but anything they do that doesn't have a princess seamed bodice will probably work for you? Something gathered across the chest, I know they have a few bodices like that. If you have a super flat chest it's going to look off in their princess seamed bodices, just really lumpy I think, there's a couple of the tiny-er asian e-famous lolis that just look like they are swimming in them.

I bought a few MM dresses and honestly, the only ones that fit me are the JSKs with corset lacing.

I have the dress in OP and it's so loose everywhere, just like my other OPs that I've had to sell :( My measurements are 81-24-83cm and I'm 5'1".

The ideal body type would be 84-26-86 cm, a slightly shorter torso, and height around 5'4".

Aww man. I'm 87-65- 92 cm (34-25-36") and 5'7". Are you saying its going to be short on me?

At 5'7", most lolita dresses will be short on you.

>> No.7133782

I have a flat chest and I just wear a super padded pushup bra to fit MM. However, it's also where your boobs are located on your chest, they need to sit relatively high to fit into the bodice right. Their underbust cuts look great on flatter chests, though, you can wear them and not look like a barmaid.

158-162cm (5'2"-5'4") in height, around 100-110lbs, bust/waist of 32"/26". Roughly a misses' size 2P or 4P in the USA at this point in time.

>> No.7133854

the underbust is actually the most important in regards to the bodice fitting 'perfectly'

>> No.7133870

>>7133697
That dress is around 94cm, which makes it a bit longer than most lolita dresses (ie AP), so I think you should be fine. If it's too short, you can always sell it and buy one of IW's and MM's 100cm+ length dresses.

Would it be possible to fit MM or VM dresses with these measurements 91-27-94? I'm also 5'8"? I love the designs of so many VM and MM dresses but I haven't bought any because I'm unsure if I will fit.

I'm 5'8 and my classical puppets petti, is a perfectly fine length for all of my lolita dresses besides a long version of an IW dress (I think it's supposed to be tea length but it hits me a few inches past my knee). So I definetly think your petticoat will be fine.

In general, make sure you find one that has corset lacing rather than just waist ties, unless there's an additional design feature that means the bust will still be okay. Ekaterina (corduroy version) was fine on me with the corset lacing tightened, and Rote Rose (most recent release) looks fine on me because of the elastic across the top of the bust and the gathered design of the bust. I'm 80-65-88, wear an 8B/6C bra, and 5' 2", although I'm not sure my hip or my height makes much difference. Unfortunately I have misplaced my camera cable so don't have any pics to show you ><

VM is more likely to fit you than MM, their bust sizes are a bit bigger and their dresses are often longer.

Don't be, they all have waist ties and 5cm isn't too much to take in with waist ties - it's barely noticeable, unlike stuff that's baggy around the boobs which with your measurements you shouldn't have any issues with.

>> No.7135946

That's good to hear! I was also thinking about the underbust measurements. I don't really have large boobs (like a b cup, my bust measurement is mainly from my ribs).

give underbust as well, as several people have said: the whole trick with MM and VM princess seam bodices is the cup size (your full bust minus your underbust).

As for your height, I think the classic brands tend to make things much longer, so it'll probably hit you right above the knee, which should be fine?

Ah, good to know, thank you! It was kind of a gamble, haha, I bought it because it was cheap and I had a feeling it could look gorgeous worn. But the only worn pictures I can find online either don't show the dress well or are just plain badly co-ordinated.

Honestly, you'll be fine - most lolita dresses aren't cut for more than a 3-4" difference between bust and underbust anyway since most Japanese girls aren't particularly busty.

>>7136947
As I said here, >>7135772
I think VM is a better bet for you. Maybe you should actually go look at both websites to see bust/waist measurements, as they do vary between dresses/styles.

I'm so sorry anon, I acutally missed your earlier comment.

I think I will look for VM, I definitely will thank you :) Normally the waist measurement is fine but it's the bust that throws me just a little bit off for these classic brands. Thank you once again.

Seriously don't worry about, there's ignorant people everywhere, but why would you even care what they think.
I've had some girls at a con ask me if my AP was a replica... a not very popular older print that was never even requested to be replicated anywhere. And then they were actually disappointed it was genuine...

Also DoL's dresses are so crappily made most lolis can easily tell them from the original even on the photos. I find their Unico to be especially hilarious.
