A-Kon use to be a lot of fun. Now it's just painful to go and see what passes for a mixture of casual and hardcore anime fans. 6 different people asking if I had dvdrs up in my room for swapping copies of rips of shows. Fat cosplayers showing way too much skin everywhere. Most of the panels and "guests" being a waste. Anime Expo is only slightly better because of companies that go, hot girls that cosplay for their attention needs and be discovered, and older fans that have more respect and decency still

Considering opening a suit, if we can prove the sign wasn't properly displayed/shown/etc each victim is entitled to a thousand bucks, plus triple whatever you had to pay the tow company. Contest started late, no surprise there. Had a horrible halftime show that was too long, no surprise there. The awards were... weird. I feel like I read somewhere, maybe the facebook, back when they posted the new rules that they did not want a BIS because it "wasn't fair" for the two classes to be judged "against" each other. I think the director very reluctantly implemented the class system but still doesn't like it. Years ago when that type of rule system first started appearing in Texas she said she hated it and would never use it for Akon because there was no way to know if cosplayers were lying about their class or not so it was better to just force everyone to compete at the same level.
