The grand opening is just two days away.

Who's going? How many people do you think will show up?
How excited are you on a scale of bodyline detachable sleeves stocking stuffers to you finding Iron Gate OP at the thrift store?
Were you lucky enough to score a ticket for the 11am meet?
seagull meetup after, possibly?

General discussion/plans etc

I dunno, really. Events of all kinds just kinda make me nervous, haha. I'll get over it once I'm actually there, though. But I'm also really nervous about my coord... Something really awesome, but not too eyecatching. Last time I went into the city I went all out and got harassed to the point where I missed my bus so many people were trying to grab me/my dress/my hair. I think the reason for that was there was some sort of game? Hockey or something? A lot of the people were either foreigners or drunk guys in jerseys.

Just got home. Man are my feet hurting.
I got there around 1:40ish and was in line until around 4:50ish. The line was insane, and people would arrive and then cut in to where their friends were, so it kept getting longer.
Everyone was rather nice though! I have never been to a lolita meet (I've never even seen a lolita in person before, so this was quite the way to start it off)
Most girls looked decent and nice and quite a few had super lovely coords. i was in line chatting with the girl behind me for most of the time so I didn't get very many photos, just a few. I'll post the ones i did take.

Would you be interested in some video clips of the store inside itself? Speaking of which, yeah there was some nice variation. Im more of an AP girl myself so not seeing any was a bit disheartening but it was sooo nice being able to see so much stock of lolita items! The store itself is quite small but it still holds a lot I suppose.

I've posted some photos and video on my instagram

Just got home, had a lot of fun seeing all the coords and chatting to people on line. >> No.7696399

>>7696379
AP has very serious restrictions for people carrying them overseas. From what people said about the Paris location, AP refuses to let distributors carry what they consider "competing" brands alongside their lines. So if someone sells Baby, IW or Meta, they won't work directly with them as a distributor (this is part of why Harajuku Hearts doesn't carry sweet brands; they're owned by the same "parent company" as AP USA. The other reason is that Baby already has a franchise in the same city, so working with Baby wouldn't get them anything different).

Also, just tried on the dress and blouse that I got during the soiree part of the opening... Oh man, I was nervous to try it on in store so I just sort of bought them and prayed for the best. They fit like a dream, I'm so happy.

It was awkward though, after the soiree... I ran into a girl at Kino and she asked to see what I got and I showed her. Her face dropped, "Oh... I went in specifically to buy that... So you're the one who bought it?" Never before have I laughed so awkwardly.

And last tidbit, how many stamps did you guys get on your points cards? I managed to get 12, and was a little surprised at how quickly the stamps fill up!

And I just smiled and nodded because I mean, what am I supposed to say? She was behind me in the checkout line and apparently bought a $90 plushie and a bunch of shit. Not trying to be mean but... You mean this lady? She was behind our group and at one point a girl in front of us was taking a picture of another lolita and the line started moving. A picture takes like three seconds so we were patiently waiting and this lady just jets I front of us. Then she tried blending into the group in front of us. She got in the store like 2 minutes before we did so I don't understand her rush.

This is correct, blouse under dress and no trying on blouses/cutsews. You also have to have your own blouse now, they won't provide one. At least for the opening they didn't. I don't know what their policy on OP's is though...

Well I meant what train you were trying to use and if you were coming or going from uptown/downtown. Anyway 2nd ave is an F-only stop (I don't recall if the M goes there but it was a weekend so it doesn't matter because the M doesn't run on weekends). So if you were coming from uptown, you could have transferred from the downtown F (which I'm assuming you were on if you were going to take it straight there?) to the downtown D at West 4th St and taken that to the next stop, Broadway/Lafayette, and walked southeast from there to the store (you would pass the 2nd ave stop on your way), which isn't all that far. Maybe 10 street blocks east over to where 2nd Ave is, and then 2 avenues down as normal from that stop.

If you were coming from downtown, the F should have taken you right there, but if the construction is ever happening on the uptown train side, you can transfer at West 4th to a downtown F train, then take that 2 stops to 2nd ave, or take a downtown D to Bway/Lafeyette and walk as above.

Sage for not lolita but I hope this helps!

Yeah, Karen is probably my favorite NYC lolita. I haven't been to the city in a while because I've been avoiding meets ever since the-mod-who-shall-not-be-named pretty much called me out for being one of the youngest members at the time (and the youngest at that meet). So yeah, but the second Karen saw me she was like, "Anon-chan!" And I was really flattered! I mean a lot of people recognized me and were happy to see me back, but she just seemed very excited about it.

The other shopgirl Tia, I've heard bad stuff about her but in all my interactions I've never actually seen her act that badly? She seemed kind of frazzled at the opening, and came off as awkward while I was checking out (I mean understandable, I just made a $600+ purchase and she was trying to figure out my points card)

But for TR's shopgirls they are amazing! Back at the old location they always remembered my name, past purchases, it was really impressive! I'm happy to see them back.
