How do you organize your wardrobe and accessories?

>> No.7702421

Hnngggg so neat! I love organisation ideas.

>> No.7702610

Bump because I also interested in what experience lolitas do.

>> No.7702900

> All my shit
> Jammed in a closet
> When gets full
> Sell some
> Sox in a box to the left

I wish I could organize stuff nicely but my closets are shitty diy from the previous homeowner and literally can't even fit normal hangers properly.

>> No.7702922

I feel really lucky to have a whole room to dedicate to sewing/lolita. My boyfriend lives in the living room though (netflix, video games nonstop when he's in the house) so I don't feel as bad about having the second bedroom to myself.

My closet is all dresses, hatboxes, and shoes. There's some other miscellany that hangs but I'm at 70 dresses in a normal size closet (not walk in) and going over that makes me feel anxious. I keep blouses, underskirts, cardigans, and socks in a dresser. The little sock organizers (honeycomb dividers or drawer divider slots) are pretty great.

I like the look of matchy matchy shoes for pictures but my shoe collection doesn't actually look like that. I organize dresses by brand and it sort of works out as a rainbow.

>> No.7702960

>implying I have enough to have to organize

I keep my dresses in the far right side of my closet, my socks and tights in a drawer in the closet, and my few accessories and stuff in various areas around my room, mostly in drawers and on top of desks. I'm not very organized. :/

>> No.7703265

>>7701749
My closet itself is just jammed pack full of all my shit. My normal clothes, lolita clothes, and pin up clothes. However, I plan to get a separate clothing rack for just my lolita dresses in the near future.

I have a vanity with a small mirrored drawer thingy on it holding some of my jewelry. I also have one of those big pieces of jewelry furniture, you know the ones with a bunch of drawers and the sides that open where you can hang necklaces.

I also keep my lolita socks/tights in those nice cardboard boxes that sorta look like books with the magnet closures, you can get them at craft stores and outlet stores like Ross and Michael's. Then a bunch of similarly nice cardboard boxes that look kinda like suitcases that I got from Ross in which I keep all my hats and headbands and what not.

I might take a picture of all this stuff. I'm not good at describing stuff

>> No.7703394

>>7701749
Looks really neat but I'll have to climb a chair every time I need to grab a bag.

>> No.7703398

I have a closet with sliding doors, so I hang up everything (in order of and sorted by color: boleros, chiffon tops, blouses, skirts, JSKs and OPs). I put all of the detachable bows and headbows into a tote bag and hang that too. All of my bags and hats go on the closet's top shelf.
Jewelry goes into three jewelry drawers and other accessories go into a box. Detachable waistties get their own box. I have four other boxes just for socks, sorted by color.
Shoes go into a shoe-under, but since my bed doesn't have space under it anymore, it's just under my desk.

I am not really satisfied with how my shoes are organized, but it's the best I have now. My closet holds other clothes too and my lolita stuff is taking over and don't even fit.

>> No.7703516

I don't have a lot right now, but I keep my dresses and skirts hanging up in a clean closet, with my shoes on a shelf above the dresses. I fold my blouses and store them in a drawer, and keep my petticoat in a shoebox.

This wont work for much longer, but I like hanging my dresses on my wall, cause I want them on display. I don't think it's very good for the dresses/blouses though. I keep headbows/other accessories in the JetJ bag

>> No.7704788

How does everyone organize their many circle lens cases? I haven't thought of a good space-conscious way to keep all of mine together while also keeping them from tipping and leaking. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

>> No.7705001

My normal people/lolita clothes intermix in my closet, but it's organized like this going from right to left:
>hanging shoe storage cubby thing
>petticoats
>skirts
>dresses
>blouses
>sets
>vests
>blazers
>outerwear

>> No.7705255

>>7704788
Your circle lens cases shouldn't be leaking. That means they aren't airtight and bacteria can get in.

>> No.7705279

Main pieces are on clothing racks in the bedroom.

>but sun damage, anon!

My bedroom has blinds and sun-blocking curtains I have to turn lights on to see during the day.

Shoes are on giant shoe shelves along the wall.

>> No.7705291

>>7704788
How many contacts must you have for them to be a problem? But >>7705255 is right, get new cases, and make sure you clean the lens properly before transferring. Avoid those cute animal cases, they're not good at all. Even the ones that come with the solution boxes are better and more secure.

>> No.7705293

How do you guys store petticoats?

I've heard that some girls hang it upside down to make it keep it's poof but I don't understand how this even works?

I just shove them into grocery bags, although some people say that it reduces poof. But I like the idea that it keeps the material all crumpled up and folded, so when I take it back out the folds help make more volume? I don't even know how to explain it.

>> No.7705299

>>7705293
I find keeping them stuffed in bags keeps the poof better. Namely gravity isn't constantly pulling the fabric in one direction, but it's all evenly distributed. When I pull them out of the bags, they're poofy as ever. When they start going low, I will toss them in the dryer to fluff them up though. I just have mine shoved into a giant shopping bag and then put them in a small grocery bag during transport to conventions and what not. Works well for me.

>> No.7705444

Bit of a dumb question and barely lolita related, but how do you guys store cardigans, especially ones on the heavier side?
I get that you're not suppose to hang them up because they might stretch by their own weight, but I don't have any shelves to let them sit after I fold it up.

>>7705299
Thanks anon!

>> No.7705454

>>7705291
Thanks for the info about the cases.

I don't have too many, but I do have about 5 or 6 pairs (like one of each color which I thought was fairly normal - sorry if I'm mistaken) and I find it difficult to store them. I would love a company to make a contact case organizer, like a box with little sections to hold the smaller cases, but until such a thing exists, I was hoping to hear what sorts of things other folks do.

>> No.7705459

>>7705299
Thanks for the tip about putting pettis in the dryer. I've never heard that before. I'm going to try that before I wear mine next time.

>> No.7705464

>>7705454
Oh, ok. I have 8 pairs, I think that's fairly normal. All of mine fit into a small cosmetics case along with my solution, eye drops and enzymatic cleaner. I don't find it terribly inconveniencing that way, tbh. A huge case actually sounds like something that would take far more space than necessary.

>> No.7705484

Crap, I don't have any pics of them! (junked them because I moved a few times and am making fresh ones that aren't all bent) Best I can do for now is the one I made for jewelry. Flip it around, pink chocolate pattern and stuff on the inside instead of just the outside, same kind of thumbtacks with jewels, twice as long (because it is two box lids taped together) and along the top I gathered some pink tulle with a needle and thread, glued in place along the top, and hid that with pom pom trim along the top. Once I remake them I will probably post to a craft thread or something, I'm always in those.

This is a pretty weird solution but it's what i use to store extra headbows and clips etc. Its one of those decorative metal birdcages, it works well and it looks nice while fitting into the theme of my room. For bigger headbows and hats i just put a tack in the wall and hang each one on them

I want to say no because most bows sit right on the middle of the headband. (I guess it could still work, just leave your bands lopsided)
But I want to say yes because that's pretty clever.

sorry for the crappy photo, but this is how I store/display (?) my headbows and one of my bags. I haven't been using my dressform for garment making, so this is a good use for it in the time being. Ignore the giant ugly one in the back pls

I'm not quite sure, but I think you're into gothic lolita

A good way is to hang it upside down on a hanger, or just put it in a drawer. Dont hang it up regularly, as it will deflate faster.

Well you've kind of answered your own question. Either you put it on your shelves or get a rack

inside out on the hanger, so the layers fall the opposite way they would if you were wearing it^^

I smash my cp pettis into ziplock bags.
I get them out a few hours before I'm gonna wear them and they haven't deflated yet. Had them almost a year now.
