Thanks for the link, anon.

I'm just on the cusp of most burando limits, and I'm working on losing some inches by running and getting active as soon as I can get myself a motivating partner. I've been sedentary for so many years, I have trouble getting into an active routine on my own. It feels like quitting smoking, I can't just jump into it cold turkey.

This is my size, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to flatter that for now. Any experience?

You look like a rectangle shape from what I can tell. you can use the image here to see what lolita styles will flatter your shape:

Using my last known numbers. Gained a lot of weight so most of my mainstream clothes don't fit. I'd love to get into jfashion (I wear lolita already, so something else), but can't really think of what would work.

The body generator worked to an extent, but it isn't 100%. I carry a lot on my butt and thighs, have a very dramatic dip at my natural waist, and am a large cup size.

I'm short and wide, short in the torso, stocky, muscular, broad shoulders and big bust. Basically a rectangle/inverted triangle. Gained a little weight (about 5-7lbs) but only about that much overweight at this point. Hit my max healthy weight (after losing about 75lbs, but I've had some health issues in the last few weeks that contributed to the weight gain, started to lose it thankfully). I'm somewhere around a size 10-12 US and a bit on the chubby side atm. I guess I'd consider myself built fat? I lift and work out a lot but still chubster.

I found that empire and traffic cone shaped dresses tend to look pretty good on me since they hide my general wideness and only tend to show my skinny ass arms and legs. My bust isn't so big that they bulge out of the shapeless cut dresses, but it's big enough to create some issues.

I find that my waist, ribcage, back and shoulders (width since I'm built like a fucking linebacker) tend to create the most issues for me. Brand blouses are the worst. I have like two Meta blouses that fit me well, but only their rare T size which tends to accommodate better for broader shoulders and longer arms.

>mfw: No matter how much I lose, I'm always going to have issues with brand. I really envy long torsoed, small framed girls.

Heels, baby, heels. It seems you suffer from the same thing as I do, short looking legs. Dark, low den thighs look really nice and makes your legs appear slimmer. High waist dresses and skirts that define your waistline, fitted clothing are a must. Nothing loose that covers you. The dress on the left looks really cute as far I can see, but your outfit on right does not do you any justice. That loose shirt does not look good as it is and I'd maybe go with a darker colour.

You can buy cute plus size things from DreamV's raktuen site. Just look under the womens clothing category and browse through until you find a picture with one of the plus size models.

http://global.rakuten.com/en/search/?sid=dreamv&tl=100371

From there. That's a decent place to start but not all of it is "j fashion" necessarily. You can buy a main element but the fashion part comes from your accessories. If you're into Gal, Lolita, Fairy, etc you really have to look and study those fashions to get the right look.

damn you look really cute for a plus girl. It doesnt look like your waist goes in at all, so try a waist cincher. Then just avoid, avoid, avoid empire and dolly cuts, and go for bells and alines that flare out at the waist. Heels to lengthen your legs, and I suggest using taobao shops to get custom sizing if you're on a budget, and shirring like that one anon

I can't tell if I'm overweight or not. I feel like I might be on the cusp? I know I'm chubby. I'm a medium, so would that mean I'm fine? (I'm just sort of silly about weight)

ur a hella qt. Like the others have said, heels will help make your legs look better (I have the same potato-ey legs. Sweet lolita tends to look better on bigger girls (in my opinion anyway). Wear things that will make your waist look smaller, like big cupcake shaped skirts. For blouses, Bunny House on facebook makes some cute inexpensive ones, I have two from them.

>> No.7725880

>>7725743
Adding to what the others said, as you can tell in comparison here, tights are your friend. They help get rid of the awkward looking knees that a lot of plus size girls have. Also, it really looks to slim down your legs in the photos.

I would say also go for longer skirts than the picture on the left. At least with me, skirts that short tend to make my legs look pudgier, but I can't quite tell if it does for you since the picture is dark. Mid thigh, and like another anon said, dresses that flare out to help accentuate the waist.

Thank you all for your help!

First of all i'm glad you all like the black outfit, that's actually the leotard and practice skirt that I have to wear for my ballet uniform! (I really wish I could wear it all the time, I feel really cute and confident in it!)

I really wish I could wear heels all the time, but I can't walk it them, which is really stupid because as a musical theatre student i'm supposed to dance in them. I've tried learning but i'm still a bit shaky so I guess I should practice!

I think one of my main issues with dressing cute is that with my college timetable I have to get changed at least twice a day for dance lessons which prevents me from wearing tight and complicated outfits so I usually just wear high waisted skirts & tshirts or sundresses. I usually wear black tights every day but the problem is that I ladder them easily, it's probably because I insist on wearing cheap tights from primark, can anyone recommend a decent place to buy plus size tights (i'm UK based).

There's a lot of cute plus size taobao shops that sell things like that. Go with custom-made tops or flowy fabrics like chiffon. Avoid puffed sleeves and go with more set-in sleeves. I have broad shoulders and fat but muscular arms (so extra big, plus loose skin from when I was heavier). Cotton tops with puffed sleeves only accentuate that. Set in sleeves and chiffon fabrics look much more flattering on me. But I mostly wear Lolita. It could probably apply to other j-fashions as well.

As someone who runs a dressing room at a clothing retail this happens all the time to the garments.
I pick up at least 10 popped buttons a day and see at minimum three busted zippers.
It's the thinner girls who normally do it too because their size 4 wants to believe it's a size 1.

We either replace the buttons, which shouldn't be hard for AP to do, or we mark the garment down. There's nothing to feel bad over.

I'm incredibly tempted to buy a piece from F+F since they can work with my 108cm bust. I love the new Chiffon Lover set, so I'm considering the JSK and peignoir/jacket. Would a blouse be mandatory here, or could I possibly get away with just the peignoir, since I don't plan on removing it while I wear the outfit?

Also, colours? I look great in jewel tones, but a pink JSK and white peignoir with brown accessories would be divine for a breezy casual summer outfit...

For boobloaf, it's going to happen no matter what, unless you are wearing items that are made specifically for your size or at least very close to it. If you're bigger and want to avoid boobloaf all together, you'll want to get everything custom made. Brand items are made for narrow frames and small cup sizes (about a B). When you start getting into D, DD+ it starts to get warped looking in the front.

The best thing you can do is look for anything that sits lower, find a way to create more space between the bottom of your bust and the waistline of the dress, that way it doesn't look like your boobs are taking up the entire bodice. This can be achieved with a good push up bra, underbust corsets (depending on how much extra fat you have, it might ooze over the top, so you may not want to tight lace), or adjust buttons/lengthen your straps. OPs can typically create more boobloaf but I have a few which don't give me problems.

i will try to avoid OPs from now on though; thanks! i went for the op for this series since i really disliked the bodice for the jsk.

also unrelated to my original post: anyone in this thread have the sugar hearts jsk? how's the bust for it? my bust is 104cm and i figured that maybe the full-back shirring would help me fit it nicely, but since it's an older AP dress i'm not sure. for reference i fit the re-released magical etoile high-waist jsk perfectly with plenty of room to spare.

There's a few brands that are good for accommodating bigger girls. Meta lucky pack skirts go up to 100cm waist usually. IW has a few JSKs that go up to 100 or more cm. Here's some helpful links to find brand an taobao items that can fit:
brand: http://gorgeouspluslolita.tumblr.com/tagged/plus-size-brand-photoset
taobao with custom sizing: http://gorgeouspluslolita.tumblr.com/post/41738471060/taobao-lolita-shops-that-offer-custom-sizing

That tumblr is really useful for shopping help and also reblogs some nice plus size lolita photos.

Boobloaf help?

This dress has been sitting around for a while, because I don't really know what to do with it. At first I thought of sewing a few rows of lace down the bodice + throwing in two columns of bows, but I my sewing is shitty and crooked and I'll probably just muck up. I also considered buying some cute bows off taobao and pinning them in two columns down the bodice but you'll still see the loaf from the sides...

Any idea what I could do, or can I only give up and sell it away? I don't want to alter it to fit larger sizing, if it really boils down to that I'll let somebody else have this jsk instead.

Vanity sizing. That or some clothes she can just get away with because they're bigger even though they have a 'size.'
I can fit into a lot of small or medium shirred/loose tops but normally I need a large or extra large.

I can slip into size 10-14 dresses but my real dress size is a 16. It literally just depends how certain things fit.

The Bianca JSK (pic related) is a babydoll style dress so you don't have to worry about boob loaf or anything. The only problem I have with it is that it's kinda short (even on me, at 5'2") the bodice/collar part kind of sits weird (I have to constantly pull it down) and my hips are so big I can't fit a petti underneath it. So I more wear it for casual coord or leaning more toward otome.

>> No.7753449

Mind if I give some advice coord wise? You need to match the colors better. I personally don't like the dress, but let's ignore that for now. Your shoes are too bright/apple-red compared to the more wine colored dress and bag. The bag doesn't necessarily match, but it's better than the shoes. Your wristcuffs also don't match the blue of the dress. You're spot on with pearls though, and you have potential with a short bob. Consider curls, but it's not necessary.

Yeah so my biggest issue is the shoes, look around payless and ross and other stores. You don't need burando for simple flats that match. If you're comfortable with short heels, look for those as well, I think they'd make you look a little more classy. Good luck!

original poster.

It depends on how much excess fat you have and where it tends to build up on the body. If you have a really high body fat percentage, it's probably not going to look very good at all. If you're closer to the 30 and under range, it'll probably look fine. Someone that caries more weight up top and less at the bottom and a high body fat %, it's going to show. Someone who is strictly bottom-heavy probably won't have too many problems.

I'm top heavy and somewhere around the 30% bf range. I tend to lace it to a comfortable level, and it gives extra lift to help avoid the boobloaf effect in most dresses. The only downside is that you can see a bit of a line under all the layers. I typically wear it with a camisole under, a blouse, and a jsk. I'll layer another camisole over the corset if it's warmer and it's a particularly thin dress to help reduce the appearance of the corset being there.

I also just own an timeless trends corset so it doesn't reduce my measurements at all, and usually adds an extra inch, but it does help with some things.

I wear it less and less these days, namely because it's summer but also because I lost more weight and I get a wider gap between the waistband and bottom of my bust naturally and don't feel like I particularly need it for this purpose, but it helped me out in the past.

How accurate is Infanta's stuff to the stock measurements? The reason why I am asking is I saw an Infanta dress for sale somewhere(I think Lolita Plus size sales on FB) and the seller mentioned the size ran bigger than the stock sizes. It hadn't been altered etc. There are a few dresses I'd like to order from Infanta but I just would like an idea about sizing, thanks!

I've found most taobao brands run larger as they don't list the wearing ease. The measurements they give are the idea body measurements, but the clothes tend to be about 3-5cm bigger so the fabric isn't plastered on your skin and you don't bust a seam every time you move.
