Keep in mind the last time I saw this print being sold was just a couple of months after release, bidwars were going on for every single one on yja and mbok.

So far as I recollect, the red, navy and black were all to the tunes of 50-70k yen. Only the ivory was least popular with ending bids still being just above retail.

I'm not really sure what you could get for it on the Western market, though, not a whole lot of girls are up for tossing 600USD at a single dress even if the going price would rightly be closer to 650 or 700USD after paying ss, transaction and shipping fees.

Another owner of far too many Fleur Antoinettes here. The price difference is actually due to Western vs. Japanese markets, I'm guessing. In Western markets I've only seen the re-release for sale for the past year or two (where it automatically commands a $100-$200 premium over the Japanese market), whereas if you patiently stalk Japanese auctions, you'll find both releases usually go for about the same price (with the exceptions of the rare colorways).

The last time I saw an original release Fleur Antoinette being sold in an English-speaking community, it went for a truly ridiculous price. The re-release might have brought the value down, though.

I bought one from the western comm and the other from the jap auctions.
Typical of the jap auctions, my cheaper dress came without bows. But I was quite lucky to get it for such a cheap price considering I have tried my luck with about 3 other auctions that had all gone over $500+.

I do like my 2009 ver better, the lining feels nicer, the colour is also nicer as well as the print in general, but I like the fabric texture of the 2012. '09 has a much subtler texture, so it looks a little flat, especially when compared to '12.
I find that the flowers on '12 versions can look almost neon in some lighting, and I really don't like that.
But overall, they honestly are both gorgeous dresses.

I totally understand the differences in the two markets since nearly all of my wardrobe is from Japanese second hand sites and auctions. I also keep up with a lot of Western sale sites, but I rarely buy from them.

I think there's someone selling the whitexblack jsk for roughly $900USD on lacemarket. While they're rare, you'll find one up for sale somewhere on western sale sites (unlikely on mbok, ect). They range from the $800 - 1500 mark depending on how much the seller wants to make quick money or whether they're willing to sit until someone can pay the right price. I find that skirts get sold more often but can often look dorky on people who don't have the right shape for it. Same about the bodice on most moitie JSK's though...
In real life, Iron Gate is a gorgeous, striking print. Any blackxwhite combo is stunning, but the blue is still fabulous in it's own right. The material is good quality and while there are some Iron Gates that are in mint condition, still in plastic bags, ect, there will be some Iron Gates out there that have been modified and show wear and tear as the shoulder straps to me feel a bit flimsy.
All in all, I would spend money on this.

Also Oxyclean is best activated by hot water. The hotter the better. I've removed stains entirely by spot treating with a scoop of oxyclean and a little bit of boiling water then applying it directly to the spot. It might take a few tries, if cold water doesn't do it, gradually go up in temperature. Fantastic Dolly is made with thicker fabric so it should be okay and withstand it fine. I've used it on AP's cotton prints with no problem but it did stiffen the fabric.

So here's a weird price check question. I bought Royal Order recently for $450 from someone who told me it was "in perfect condition". However when I finally had a chance to see it in the light, I find that there is a spot on the front of the dress where there are two sections of pulled thread. One is about 3" and the other is 0.75" long. Both are pictured and are on the front right of the dress.

My question is this, how much would this dress be worth with that damage? I'm going to seek a partial refund because of the damage so if I ever resell it, I don't lose money because of the damage.

Copics are better. The ink flows faster and the tip is smaller so you won't get ink in the parts you don't need to color. Also you may need a marker a few shades darker than the print looks because you're starting from a white background. If you can't or don't want to buy a Copic, a fine tipped Sharpie will be better than a normal tip.
