I have an array of red lipsticks, and bought my first drugstore lipstick in ages, so I'll be doing swatches as well as reviews.

I'm fair skinned with cool undertones. I do understand the issue. It's much easier in the stores themselves, because I've often found (especially with my Chanel lipsticks and Dior) that the swatches provided by the brand's website or Sephora don't match up with how they look in person.

I know that fucking feeling. Or, going all the way to the fucking store under the pretense that the bastards are how they fucking look online.. only to discover that there's absolutely shit coverage, mostly sheer, sparkles, and just looks like some glorified Korean lip gloss.

Fuck you, Dior. I mad.

>> No.7922694

Outside of lolita, lipsticks and lipglosses are my thing and my collection is massive. I know shit about makeup but I love putting on different lip colors so I buy and buy and buy.

I wish that I was gutsy enough to buy from the drug store but my paranoia about the color possibly not looking good on me makes me buy from the department store or Sephora/Ulta. Anyone else do this? I know I can save so much money by buying drug store brands but I think about how I might me throwing away money if the color doesn't suit me. And I realized that the only big difference I ever found between higher brand lipsticks vs drug store brands was the scent and taste. I hate the makeup/chemical taste that drug store brands have whereas there is either no taste or a fruity one with higher end lip products.

What range are you buying? Maybe look up what the lipstick is actually like before you buy it. They do like six different lipstick ranges. It's your own fault for not researching properly, shit.

I actually went to Walmart today and bought pic related. I am very used to buying medium and high end brands, which often have testers and/or swatches on display, so it was frustrating for me because I saw absolutely no swatches. I had to go with my gut, and I think I picked the right color [being an art student was somehow helpful to identify the color on the bottle lol], but yeah.

I prefer medium/high end because of the smell, yes, but also because of how long they last compared to drugstore. I've heard good reviews about this one, though, so I'll see how it goes.

I stated in both posts that I had "done my research". Swatches will also not present themselves the exact same due to differences in lighting and skin tones.

Honestly? Your attitude isn't necessary. We've gone several threads without that sort of hostility and we're not going to start welcoming it now. Take the condescension elsewhere.

It's not so much about the type of foundation you're wearing but the finish it gives you. Usually matte foundations suit oily skin better. Sheer/silky foundations are going to smudge and/or they may make you more shiny than usual.

(I've got an eye makeup routine down but I am just now starting to play with lipstick. I figured nudes was a good first step.) I would really like to find a pink shade since I don't have anything to wear with sweet lolita. I know I look good in berry type colors (though I am having the hardest time finding ones that don't go brown on me) and really dark vampy colors (though I don't have occasion to wear those often) but red is scary to me (I'll get there but for now it reminds me too much of my mom and tryhard rockabilly girls when I wear it). http://youtu.be/dRpmmJNzWB8

Second OP, back from a day of shopping for my usuals (Asian skin stuff, makeup, lady goods) to deliver the swatches I promised. I apologize for my goosebumps, it's freezing ass cold and I wanted to get the best lighting possible. Every indoor picture, for whatever reason, casts orange or yellowish tints and it made the colors look very off. So, natural light it is. Starting from my wrist and going up towards the black:

>Guerlain KissKiss Shaping Cream Lip Colour in 328 Red Hot
>Besame Noir Red
>Besame Merlot
>Chanel La Sensuelle
>Chanel La Fascinate
>Urban Decay F-Bomb

>Hourglass Icon
>Hourglass Fever
>NARS Funny Face
>M.A.C. Pink Nouveau
>M.A.C. Girl About Town
>Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense 50 Satin Black

I've been wearing red lipstick since I was about fourteen, after watching my Mother wear it for years. I switched between black and red during my goth years in high school. Pinks were always difficult for me because I kept picking ones that were too light and I'd appear washed out. However, I've finally been able to enjoy pinks in recent years after learning my undertones.

Okay, did a quick swatch of my lipstick collection as well reviews:

Maybelline Superstay 24 color: This is one mean motherfucker, period. Took me several cotton pads and two makeup removers to take it off, so they do mean that shit stays. As for the lip balm kinda thing I do agree with >>7923500. The cap seems to fall off easily. I personally won't use it with the lip balm, but, it's good either way. Was around 12 bucks.
L.A. Colors lip gloss: This one was like, 5 dollars? I don't remember. It smells like cough syrup, and it's not concrentrated enough, so it fades away quickly. It's good if you want a subtle color though.
The Body Shop Color Crush: With a recent change of formula, this lipstick managed to stay longer than its past presentation. It's a nice cherry red and it doesn't smell. It's on sale, going for $7.50
Lancome Rouge in Love: Smells like roses yo. Not complaining. The only issue I have with this one is that it takes a lot to dry, but once dry it stays for long periods of time. I think it was $30
Estee-Lauder Pure Color: I don't use this one a lot since it has glitter and it kinda dries me out. It's a burned red. It stays decently, but I personally don't wear it a lot. It was a gift so idk the price.
Guerlain Rouge Automatique: This shade of red is the lightest I own. It doesn't stay long, kinda fades away fast. Doesn't smell at all. I think it was $40.
Chanel Rouge Allure: So far my favorite lipstick hands down. Dries fast, stays for long, nice red [voted #1 in Vogue's best red lipsticks last year hurrr]. Worth the investment. It goes around 30-40 dollars depending on your country. In my case it was 40.
M.A.C. lip pencil: It's completely matte. It stays for long periods of time as well, but you may have to be checking on it constantly or it'll look like your lips are rotting. I think it was $20 I don't remember.

Sorry for the redness around my lips in some pictures. I irritated my skin while trying to take off Maybelline.

The Body Shop's lipsticks got so much better after the formula change, seriously. The old lipsticks were like crayons; They smelled terrible and you couldn't even apply them without digging at your face. Even then, shit color. Their old reddest red looked bright orange on me, yet perfectly red in the bullet itself. My only word of caution is for people to look online at these before they buy them. Some are matte and others are pearlescent, so it depends on your preference.

The collagen eye strips, I didnt really notice a difference with. They were like the ones by My Scheming; Felt good to wear, but didnt produce very noticeable results. Their collagen sleeping pack, however, leaves your skin feeling very smooth and hydrated. I do recommend that if you're not too oily and prone to breakouts.

I prefer the Eye Doctor over GinZing. I'll probably be returning to using Shiseido for circle care, since it was working fabulously. Unfortunately, the GinZing does what one of Clinique's eye creams did to me and leaves residue on the under eye area. Saved receipt and will be returning that one, but keeping Eye Doctor because it does a great job with moisturizing that area and lasts for hours.

We don't have Sephora at all in the UK, which is a real shame because their very permissive returns policy sounds amazing. Over here, makeup tends to be "unless it's faulty, you keep it if it's opened".

We don't really have a shop that has this all-under-one-roof thing, but you could go shopping in a department store like Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser or Selfridges. Even places like Boots sell mid-tier stuff like Benefit, 2 Faced and Urban Decay. We also have an additional tier of "dirt cheap" which includes Collection 2000, Barry M etc which tends to be the teenage girl bright colour stuff - which isn't good for every day wear but alright for costume makeup.

I hear France has a Sephora which I would love to visit one day - they didn't ship to the UK last time I checked - but tbh Selfridges does all the brands I rely on, like RMK, so it isn't too bad.

Copy pasting from the reviewer's site, because it won't let me link without accusing of spam:

Pros:
-Covers dark spots well
-Powdery scent
-Brightening and oil control
-Matte finish
-Good for Indonesian skin type color (or just a person with darker skin), yellow undertones

Cons:
-Not for olive skin
-Will be chalky if you have dry skin
-Texture is medium-heavy, which means effort when blending

Even if a Sephora opened up here, it would be the same - the "bend over backwards for the customer" only flies with yanks. Some Eastern European countries have Sephoras and the liberal return policy doesn't exist, I suppose due to EU laws or something.
As someone who works in retail I'm glad, here we don't have to smile and be aggressively nice all the time, and if a customer is rude we can very well be rude back. The returns would just be one more thing they can yell at your face for.

When you work in retail, you learn to not give a shit about what these people say. Besides, more often than I can count, managers just pretend to care about complaints if they know the employee better and the customer is being blatantly over-dramatic. We're also permitted to call the police once a customer becomes belligerent, both when I worked in a shopping mall and an airport Shiseido.

Not sure where everyone else has such bad luck. Perhaps food service or just tight assed supervisors.

In my country we have Stockmann and Sokos, Anttila, a bunch of stuff really. Also there's a Sephora and Kaubamaja in Estonia which is a couple hours' boat ride from Helsinki (and it's cheaper) so while others go to buy booze I go to hoard cosmetics.
I don't think we really have need for a Sephora here, most of the stuff I see there can be found in Stockmann which has like two whole halls dedicated to beauty and cosmetics.

I manage a clothing store and it's pretty much like this. I do everything I can to make a customer happy. Even though if they're wrong, their right cause you want them to come back. It's about customer experience not service. However, just cause I'm "nice"too them doesn't mean I'm taking their side. As long as I know my associate wasn't being down right rude took a person I never coach them in front of a customer. Ever. If a customer has a complaint about a person I might listen, and tell the customer I'll talk to my associate about it, but that's all it will be is a talk. At worst, if I know you didnt do anything wrong I might ask what you think you could do next time to not escalate an unhappy situation further. If your manager its getting mad at you or writing you up for every customet complaint either you need to reevaluate how you're handling people or your manager isn't that great.

My friends said it was cute when I started wearing it but don't say anything anymore as it is just part of my regular makeup now. My mum hates it but my other relatives have said nice things about it. So yeah people do notice but wear it for long enough and it just becomes a norm. I think it's cute though and if you have chubby cheeks like me it looks better there than on the apples or cheek bones in my opinion. Is what I'm asking for impossible?

If literally every gloss you try dries out, it could be at least partly due to your skin chemistry. Do you have very dry lips that absorb the moisture quickly from lip glosses/sticks? I'll probably have some kimchi slurping nutcase coming into here and yelling at me for this, but Etude's cosmetics aren't really that great. Truthfully, from what I've seen reviews for and have wasted money on myself, a lot of Asian cosmetics aren't.

For lipstick, you could try things such as applying a lip primer to keep the product on. Also, for lipstick, using a lip liner to fill in your lips also helps the product stay. There is also the old putting foundation on your lips trick, which enhances the color of the lipstick and helps it to stay. If you do this, use a lip brush to avoid messing up a tube like I did when I was new to it. You could also look into more matte lipsticks, which tend to have more staying power than other lipsticks. Matte can sometimes be drying to people's lips, so be sure to use a balm.

Try getting a lip primer. A lip pencil might be helpful too. Another trick is applying foundation on your lips before applying lipstick.

Some makeup can dry you out, yes. What you need is in order to counter the effects of the foundation [provided you're not suffering from other adverse effects than getting dried out skin] to follow a stronger skincare routine. A better moisturizer might be able to help you.

I get the same problems as you except mine come from acne treatment. Whenever I get patchy skin I use this for a few days and I'm back to normal.

In a sense, if people actually gave it some thought, we're all promoting brands within these discussions. We're all sharing our experiences with them and saying why they're the best option for something. The only differences are that we aren't being paid by the companies themselves to do this. We're a bunch of girls at a slumber party, if we're going to be realistic about any of this. For people to get so pearl-clutching over a simple suggestion, within the context of an -advice- thread, is completely retarded. Anyone is free to ignore suggestions at any time and nobody is -forced- to go out and buy any of this. And, yet, we had curmudgeons.

We're glad that these threads have been of use to you and we can only hope that they have helped others, as well. We do welcome people to share their reviews on products suggested here. Which creams did you get?

Eye creams or Body shop creams? For my eyes I bought the Ginzing stuff from Origins (which is what the Sephora lady suggested for my undereye circles/bags) and I got a free sample of one of the Clinique creams (too lazy to look up what it was, I'm in bed already). So far they feel slightly greasy but I've only used them once each. I need to pick one, try it for a week or two consistently, and see what I think. I'm a little scared of getting those tiny bumps that someone mentioned in a previous thread, but I'm not getting any younger and I feel like my undereyes need a lot of help.

Body Shop I got:
- Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter
- Aloe Gentle Facial Wash
- Aloe Protective Serum

- Vitamin E Lipcare Stick
- Cocoa Butter Creamy Body wash

I actually reviewed GinZing earlier in the thread and thought about taking it back because it wasn't absorbing, but it seems to be doing better now. I'm not sure if it's going to actually get rid of my dark circles or if it's just making them lighter temporarily, but I'm trying to keep watch on the progress. That one is for the day and I use Origins' Eye Doctor for overnight hydration-- god, that shit smells good.

Oh, you mean milia. That was me. Yeah, they sometimes happen if you over-hydrate an area. I haven't had them in years. They can just be annoying to look at and an even bigger bitch to get rid of because you can't "pop" them. I had to use an herbal stick on mine.

It honestly depends. I ordered a lot of their things about a year ago to see what all of the hype was about and while I understand that certain things will work for some and not others.. These were just not that great. Their AC line will destroy your face if you're not going through bouts of hormonally distressed CRAWLLLING INNN MY SKINNNNN type acne. Their lipsticks feel like The Body Shop's old formula before they changed their lipsticks; Waxy and gross, with poor color and staying. Even Skin Food's BB creams were too dark, chalky, and their peach powder broke me out and caused greasiness.

I suppose that it's largely just the foreign appeal of Asian cosmetics and skincare, but people forget that just because something is packaged cutely doesn't mean that that speaks to the product's quality.

At the end of the day, it's their money and they can do what they wish, but god do I recall a time on this board where you could say nothing bad about Etude House or else everyone got on your ass.. despite never having touched the shit themselves.

I lived in Korea for a few years and was sort of forced to explore skin care and makeup options unless I wanted to pay ridiculous import price hikes on anything western. It's true if you blindly buy things from EH or Skinfood based solely on the packaging, you're not likely to get a quality product or something that works for you. I was able to test things in stores and the prices were cheap (lots of sales and point cards) and found some amazing products that work a lot better for me than anything of the equivalent price range from the US, and my skin improved a lot while I was there despite the horrible pollution in the air.

I still order SF's snail face masks and charcoal bar face soap online, and the only product from EH's AC line worth buying is that pink powder spot, which greatly reduces my monthly painful cystic acne overnight.

They actually have quite a few different formulas and lines of lipstick/glosses/stains, and being able to test them in the store made it a lot easier to separate the good from the bad. And I absolutely adore their precious mineral bb creams, because it's the only foundation product that doesn't break me out.

But if anybody ever has any specific questions or want comparisons on some EH or SF products, I'd be happy to share my experience.

It's nice that you're someone with actual experience as opposed to the many I've dealt with who pushed this by virtue that it was Asian, "kawaii" packaging, and nothing more. I wound up tossing much of what I had ordered from them, half used, because they just weren't doing anything for me. When it came to lipsticks, I asked myself why I had even bothered when I had perfectly fine lipsticks from Chanel and Lancome in my cosmetic bag. I give a lot of things a go and I'm more disappointed with when they don't work than any money spent on them. It's just sort of like.. "Boo, you whore."

That being said, I did find much peace with discovering that Mizon's BB cream was a perfect shade for me. Skin Food's peach toner is delicious smelling, but I don't see much pore shrinking like I do with the Thayer's rose witch hazel.

Do you know of any BB creams by Etude that may be as pale as Mizon's? To give you an idea; Dita Von Teese pale. A lot of BB creams I've had either turn me this sallow yellow or a type of pink where I look as if I smothered my face in makeup in a poor attempt to cover a sunburn. I was told that Missha #13 would be pale enough, but I am hesitant. Skin79's green was also said to have been pale enough, but it didn't work.

Thanks for not being a Koreaboo!

It also comes down to personal experience, anon. For example, Thayers rose breaks me out for whatever reason and the cucumber, lavender or unscented one are fine for me.
Likewise some people might have indeed had a good experience with EH products that you necessarily hadn't, I know I loved their Precious Mineral BB before they changed the formula into the two Bright and Cotton Fit ones.

I know that it does and I mentioned that in the initial post from last night. My issue was with there are people who do blindly push that brand, as well as other Korean brands, because it's cute looking Asian cosmetics. Especially with girls I've known irl who just buy things off of Amazon and then wonder why it's not as good as something else and it's like.. well, you bought something because it looked like a bunny or a cat and not because of it's performance.

I've seen reviews saying that, too. It's probably because of the rose and/or vitamin e content. Rose is commonly used for moisturizing and brightening and vitamin e is also for moisturizing. Combining those two may be an over-saturation that your skin isn't able to handle, whereas the lavender and cucumber ones are gentle because that's just always been the nature of those two ingredients.

I think you should try out the lightest shade from Missha, I found it to be pretty damn light. I bought the small tube of it to test it and I found it to be too a bit light for me, and I have a light neutral shade skin. Maybe give it a go? The smaller package (20 ml) is under 10 dollars I think.

>Even though we have skincare generals, we can also assist you with skincare if you wish. After all we used to be two anons helping in skincare threads but we decided to focus on makeup instead.

>NOTE: Although we might answer skincare questions, discussion about makeup should be the priority. If you don’t find the skincare generals useful, or if there are no skincare generals available, feel free to tell us about your concerns.

If an anon feels safer asking skincare questions here, they're free to do so even though makeup should be the priority. We stated that twice in the FAQ.

It's precisely because of this kind of bullshit that I don't participate in skincare threads, because there's always going to be someone who's going to start shit and people are going to follow.

Last 3 threads people have asked skincare related questions here, and they were not the priority nor they derailed the topic of the thread to skincare, so I would really appreciate if all of you stopped this shit and read the fucking FAQ before jumping on someone's case and starting shit out of nowhere. I've heard good things about the Chocolate Bar palette's colour payoff. As for the smaller palettes, I tried out the Naked Eye Palette a couple years ago and found the payoff a bit weak. I think it could work with a primer or cream shadow base, but if it's a generic neutral palette you're looking for, I feel like you'd have less of a hassle with other brands.

>>7929855
I may be among the few who really didn't like Smashbox's face primer. It's a lot greasier than other brands (NARS, MUFE, Bare Minerals).

I have six billion dry skin issues (scalp, edges of mouth, eczema patches elsewhere, sometimes even on my eyelids). The only thing that worked for me on the mouth patches (angular cheilitis) was a topical antibiotic prescribed by a derm, unfortunately. You may have some luck with vaseline at night. If you have a habit of wiping your mouth with your hands or harsh napkins, be gentle for a while.

>>7933178
I got the 500 point palette too. Took me a little too long to realize that the primer potion sample was hidden somewhere in the box and had to be torn off.

Here's what I picked up in the 20% off sale. Mascara was for my mom since she wanted to try a new one from a brand she trusted. Blush was for a friend's birthday gift.

Comments:
- NARS matte lip pencil applies like a dream. This one is like a warm undertones, less blue version of MAC Ruby Woo.
- This Bite pencil set is super nice and surprisingly cheap. They all have a glossy texture. Case has a mirror. They would layer well over similar colours if you want to add shine to a matte lipstick.
- Not sure what to think of Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette yet. Will have to try with a proper foundation base. It seems like it would be good for really subtle contouring.

I, too, suffer the pain that is angular cheilitis (or however it's spelt). It hurts and it really makes me self-conscious since it looks like I have some horrible kind of oral herpes even though it's not contagious or anything. Mine tends to flare up when I get stressed, eat a lot of acidic food, or when my skin gets dry. I had a topical antibiotic gel that I used twice daily for two months and in the end, it came back full force. I then tried using straight up vaseline since I thought it was something I was using on my lips that would aggravate it. The doc suggested I try another round of antibiotics, but I lost my health insurance and couldn't afford it. She also suggested trying Neosporin as an alternative to a prescription, but again it would flare right back up after I stopped using it.

The product I've found that did wonders for me and cleared it up within days is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair cream. I love the brand overall, but that Ultra Repair cream is goddamn magic for skin problems.

Considered it a few times, but honestly I have had more sour experiences in those threads than good, and actually I've mentioned it in this and past threads. I've been accused of promoting stuff as if I got paid, and overall I've gotten a very cunty attitude from some people because I trust one brand a lot. I wouldn't suggest those things if I didn't try them on myself, and even I am not blinded and praise all the products from tbs because some have fucked me over royally, but that's how skincare works. I never recommend anything that I haven't tried on myself but I got shit regardless so I'm not really keen on the idea of coming back.

I don't think it's angular cheilitis because it's not on the sides at all. Just the top and bottom, like the cupid's bow and directly below it. I've slathering balm on it overnight, and in the morning there is dead skin to rub off, but then it just feels really dry and stiff the rest of the day no matter how much balm I use. I'm trying to drink plenty of water because I might not be hydrating sufficiently I guess.

The UD primer must be really well hidden. Is it somehow in the box that the shadow is built into? I don't like their primer so I don't want to rip the thing apart.

I've also considered returning a few times because I love skincare in general, but the attitude that flows in those threads is just too much to deal with.. There's just a lot of things. I enjoyed helping before, but it's not fun when people accuse you of promoting or starting drama with you because you used something that didn't work for them. It can also be tedious because for one moment, certain products will be okay to suggest. Then, they're suddenly not okay and everyone hates them. Then, it's okay to suggest them again. Then, it's parabens. Then, it's irritants. Then, x brand works for you but didn't work for me? Oh, well let me shit all over it and make you look like a dumbass who knows nothing because if I can't have this, nobody can. <--- So many times when I had mentioned Burt's Bees or The Body Shop. I had someone flip out on me because $30 for a full skincare set was "expensive", but suggesting something $200 was perfectly reasonable to them.

There were so many things, but I've felt that people just want to be unhappy. Hopefully, people change..

Same. The woman working in that section pitched it to me as having cool undertones since NARS Mascate, an actual cool-undertones red lipstick I was looking for, was out of stock. It's warm, but only subtly so, and doesn't look bad on my cool-toned skin imo.
http://www.temptalia.com/product/nars-cosmetics-velvet-matte-lip-pencil/mysterious-red
Disregard shitty application; this was just a test to compare Mysterious Red (left) with MAC Ruby Woo (right). Temptalia said, "Mysterious Red is warmer, lighter. Ruby Woo is cool-toned with a very strong blue-base." It applies way better than Ruby Woo, which is insanely dry, even for a matte.

Speaking of primers, biore uv bright face milk/perfect face milk and other asian sunscreen brands claim to act as a primer as well. Has anyone had any luck with them in that sense? (ofc it's fine if they aren't, but it'd certainly be a neat extra if they were!)

And I have very pigmented lips, not a bad thing because it generally allows me to be lazy re: lip makeups- but it does interfere with the colours of products. So can I conceal my lips with a regular concealer? Or should I pay up for a specific lip concealer?

>Biore

I had that last summer. It's alcohol based, but I chose it for that specific reason because I am combination oily. It may dry you out if you're of a drier skin type, but that's something for you to play by ear more than I because you know your skin better than I do. The consistency is sort of.. moist? I wanted to say watery, but then it makes me think I'm giving the image of what condiments look like if you don't shake them up. It actually feels like my daytime moisturizer, so it didn't bother me. It didn't cause breakouts, either. I had been meaning to stock up, but I also have Chanel's UV/Pollution Protection and I've been sort of fawning over it. It does possess a brightening (but not whitening) effect.

As for your lips, you can try putting foundation on your lips and it'll enhance the color. As always, be sure to use a lip brush when applying your lipstick after this or else you'll do what my stupid ass did long ago and ruin a perfectly good tube. You could also look into Canmake, M.A.C., or Maybelline for a lip concealer. I'd suggest Etude House's lip concealer, but it has a weird consistency that tends to blend with the lip color and messed things up.

You're welcome! I'll pass your regards onto Nebula. She's out at the moment, but I'll shoot her a Skype message.

I think basic anime cosplay makeup for westerners or otherwise usually consists of a few things:
- Foundation with good coverage to create a flawless base. Save a grittier, more natural look for video game characters with realistic graphics.
- Make the eyes pop. False lashes work well if you get ones that are appropriate for the character and you can apply them well. Black liner on the upper lid helps, but I would avoid all that lower-lid shit they're doing in that link. Out of those, this one with less lower-lash mascara and a little less white liner would work. http://jackychip.deviantart.com/art/Cosplay-Make-up-For-female-characters-345418816
- I wouldn't go overboard on the lips unless it's appropriate for the character. If it's a generic anime girl, a neutral sort of lip will avoid distracting from the eyes as the focal point, if that makes sense.

Canmake does have some awesome stuff, though. Their blushes are pretty much on par with Tarte's. Their smooth clear essence cream is nice as an overnight pack and I really like their clear coat mascara as a top sealer for mascaras. It's also nice that it can be worn alone, still giving lashes volume without needing to apply normal colored mascara.

Temptalia's Foundation Matrix may be useful to you. It's a way to search similar shades and find swatches to show you comparisons.
http://www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix

If you go for "start from scratch" and input your undertones + fairest, you may find some results similar to what you're looking for.

Alternatively, Illamasqua's Skin Base foundation comes in pure white. If you were to mix it with a foundation that goes well with your undertones, you could probably get a good match. I'm not as pale as you but still fair, so I mix a drop of it with a pump and a half of Make Up Forever HD foundation in 110 and I can usually cover my whole face with a good match.

Okay so I just came back from the mall and bought some stuff that I needed. As some of you have read before, I had trouble finding the right shade for a foundation because they always gave me beige foundation, and I'm pale as a ghost, so yesterday while fucking around I found my foundation shade, at The Body Shop.

I ended up going today for it, and I also snatched a concealer pencil and Too Faced's Primed & Poreless primer.

I'm attaching the picture of the things I got and the foundation I was using, from Chanel. And here comes the review:

>The Body Shop's foundation: Since it was an odyssey to find a foundation that matched my skin, this is a miracle truth be told. It offers light to medium coverage, although I'm willing to say it's more medium than light. It blends well, and doesn't smell.
>The Body Shop's concealer: It's surprisingly good. I thought it'd be thick but not at all. It's pleasant to see it also blends well
>Too Faced's Primer: For sensitive skin, like I said. Controls redness, blends well.

I also tried Instablur Primer by The Body Shop
>It's a little thicker than Too Faced's, it dries faster, and I feel like it's also a good option, but I have sensitive skin so I can't fuck around with it.

>Chanel's Mat Lumiere foundation: Good foundation, but like 2 shades darker than me. Offers medium to full coverage, it's thicker in consequence. It's a great foundation but it makes me look beige so.

Unfortunately I don't think Chanel's offering a lighter shade for their foundations atm so I can't really recommend anything right now. Hope this helps!

Since this is a lipstick edition thread I shall start with the Lioele Lip Color Stick (Jessie).
According to the seller it's a Lipstick + Lip tint + Lip gloss in 1.

Pros:
Color shows up even on dark, pigmented and dry lips (I have dry, chapped lips that are dark around the edges)
Has a faint pleasant smell
Lasts super long
A lot of product (I have this one in Candice and it's still barely halfway done despite being more than a year old)
Cons:
It settles into lip cracks so apply lip balm first
It's more matte and not glossy as advertised
Has a weird waxy feel if you dont use lipbalm first

3W Clinic Professional Powder #21 aka Palgantong Powder

(Comes in 2 shades #21 Light Beige and #23 Natural Beige)

My HG setting powder! This is perfect to use after your BB creams or liquid foundation! On it's own it doesn't provide a lot of coverage but it brightens up your face because it reflects light nicely. This has the best and finest texture amongst all of the powder products I've ever used. I don't think I will ever tolerate running out of stock or to replace this.

According the seller's description:

Quite popular in Korea and Japan.
It is very popular among Korean Movie Stars and 4 out of 5 Korean ladies have tried this amazing powder.
The texture is silky and the particles are very finely-milled.
Doesn't clog pores.
Safe for sensitive skin. (I've read this in Korean blogs that this never caused any breakouts)
Feels so light on the face.
Doesn't get cakey.
Controls oil.
Doesn't dry skin.
Has good lasting power.
Very inexpensive and one tub will last a long time.

Sweet Recipe was an Etude House makeup collection, I'm assuming it's a makeup pouch from that line.

Benefit is shit. Do not buy anything of it.

I've owned both. Kat Von D's is not waterproof. Benefit's is very waterproof, but also very hard to apply. I don't know of any good waterproof liners from personal experience. Urban decay's is waterproof, but I find it smudges. Same with NARS.

Other OP told me that makeup for ever's aqua eyes is also good, made for professional mermaids.

I recently tried their high impact mascara and I really like it.

On a different note, I tried two products from Too Cool For School that I love --> Pink Girl Jelly Base and Play Cheek Angel Blusher. The blush is especially great but very shimmering, I would not recommend it for people who like more matte stuff.

Wengie's nice. We actually added her to the doc along with another channel.

We've been researching for more info to add to the doc, too, so if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

Has anyone tried the Audacious lipsticks from Nars? I see so much hype for them. I swatched one in Sephora and it felt nice, but not over $30 for one lipstick nice.

I haven't, but I feel like lipsticks are one of those things you can save your money on, there are so many others that are just as nice but cheaper. The only exception for me is a 'luxury' lipstick like a YSL one because the packaging is absolutely beautiful. Otherwise, I'd personally save my money

I've heard they're good, actually. Haven't tried them myself but I've heard nothing but good things. A friend of mine swears by them.

Go be retarded elsewhere then? You're condoning spending money for the reason of packaging yet saying cheap ass is better when its honestly not. People have suggested a lot of nice lipsticks. Sorry that your broke ass thinks $20 for quality is pricey yet are willing to drop more than that for the tube design alone

I disagree about cheap lipstick. Most cheap lipstick I've tried has been bad. I remember going to MAC for the first time in high school and asking them why my drug store lipstick wore off so quickly. They sold me a matte lipstick and it was life changing. I don't really wear MAC anymore, but it was when I first saw how big the difference in quality could be with higher end makeup.

There are some cheap makeup products that are good, but I will never buy cheap lip sticks again unless I see some good reviews first. I usually wear red lipstick, so that might have something to do with my preferences though.

Owner of the pouch here! My heart skipped a beat when I saw the pouch but my heart dropped when it contained non-Sweet Recipe items.

It isn't only a matter of them being nicer than others. In general terms lipstick is one of the first items where you can clearly see the difference between cheap and more expensive brands. I used to wear really cheap lipstick and even though the shades were nice, it didn't stay for long, or would have a crayon-like texture, or would taste like utter shit. There's more to it than pretty packaging.
