I'm trying to tell you it's not a "lolita" attempt. Pinkie Pie has a canon "lolita" dress in the series, most people who cosplay that silhouette assume it's just another dress. Not lolita.

Fluttershy gijinkas are often basic a-line dresses with a defined waist and poofy sleeves. That's not lolita. If the headdress and blouse are throwing you off there's tons of fanart that she could be trying to mimick.

Costumes=/=legitimate lolita attempts and they don't belong here. You even associating that with the fashion is implying you think the fashion is a costume.

Not the one who posted that, and while I wouldn't say it's horrifying ita, there's nothing oldschool about this. First things first, that wig is awful. It's wavy then suddenly turns straight. And I'm not one of those "no black with pastels evar!" kind of people, but her boots are completely out of place in this coord. If I really wanted to nitpick this, I'd say that neon necklace mess needed to go as well, the pinks of her blouse, headbow, and dress do not match in the slightest, the gold bag is random because there's no other gold in the coord, and she's got hot pink hair ties. It isn't a bad coord in it self, I'm quite positive it would look fine if nicely spread out on bedsheets (minus the sweater/bolero, which looks too bland for this coord). The problem is that it does not look fine on her.
The sandals are too small (left foot is grotesquely swollen). Tights are stretched out to the point where the pattern looks just silly. The wig and makeup don't compliment each other at all. The bodice barely contains her breasts and the rest of the dress could use a good ironing. Plus being overweight + empire waist + poofy bell petti combo which makes most girls look like snowmen.
Still she's 3/10 at worst, and doesn't quite fall into the ita territory.

Around 2009 I started crossdressing, and occasionally posted to 420chan's /cd/. I never found myself confused about my gender, and I'm thankfully comfortable in my skin. However /cd/ always had transgender vent posts, people asking for advice or recommendations for doctors, or people so fed up with their body and their environment they wanted to kill themselves. It later became a board for the transgendered rather than transvestites.

Around 2011 I found out about tumblr, and eventually made an account and started to get a real taste for the community. At first I was really happy there were so many transgendered people, who seemed comfortable in this space and were reaching out for help. After my few years on 420chan, I believe talking out issues is the best approach for those struggling with their gender. It gives formless ideas a form in words, and I think a lot of people just need a place to vent. When I first joined tumblr, I was honestly happy for transgendered people.

However, after the 20th post of a 15-year-old is throwing an internet shitfit because their mom didn't use the right pronouns for her *disabled* *lizardkin* *multiverse* *genderfluid* *asexual* *panromantic* SON (who was obviously identifying male in that timeframe), I got really fucking sad. I realized tumblr was likely not a helpful place for trans people, and in fact it was minimizing the issue. The more years that go by, the worse I feel about it.
