Chris Cruz, darlings.

Dallas PD/con ops got tipped off by a friend of ours that helped start the petition to ban him from the con/get a restraining order (Chris showed up earlier that day regardless and got escorted out but obviously came back), and con ops/DPD swarmed the entrance of the rave Saturday night around 2am. We were off watching from the sidelines hanging out with friends, as DPD confronted him and pulled him to the side as con ops tried to contact Meri to confirm, but since it was late at night, they weren't able to get a hold of her, and had to let him in the rave unfortunately. We were really upset about that because the whole ordeal took about 30-45 minutes for absolutely nothing to happen and them to just say "Sorry, we can't do anything!"

Driving back now but the tl;Dr is that the con has a restraining order against an individual who has roofied girls at the rave in the past. He showed up, got ejected and supposedly picked up by the cops (I wasn't present for this part), then came back the next day and got in line for the rave. Me and a couple others went to con security to let them know and hung around while they pinched him at the door. Hotel and con security showed up as well as 8 actual cops.

At this point he should have been arrested but they FUCKING LET HIM IN THE RAVE. Supposedly the reason was that only the con chairman and co-heads were the only ones who could enforce the restraining order and they were asleep or otherwise unavailable.

Okay this realllly made me laugh.

Also they failed to pay a lot of bills. I like the idea of putting together a comprehensive dossier of all of the information on him and Matsuri's problem, and just individually forwarding it to each sponsor, company, hotel, japanese company, etc that John is working with. It may not make a difference but it will make his character known.

I asked the wigs to be shipped over his account because it will clear customs quicker as he told me had some sort of agreement with them. The amount I invoiced him for was for the amount that was sold - I told him that no costs were deducted as he didn't give me any info on that, later the shipping costs were deducted from that, which I offered to pay myself even though at first he was like "just subtract whatever you feel like".

I never came out about this when it happened because I never felt like it was really that important (especially because I was 15/16 at the time), but I might as well, since you're asking. This is something that happened to a while back at Rodeocon, a.k.a. Anime Matsuri 2011. You know, the worst one yet where we had nothing but drunk rodeo hicks harassing us young girls and where the hotel would not let us use the hallway shortcut and made us walk around the hotel to get to the convention center side? Yeah, that one. Pic related, that con will forever live on in our memories.

Anyway, aside from all the hotel drama that year with friends getting stuck in hotel elevators for hours and the manager of the hotel catering to rodeo-goers over con attendees, we had a problem with the cosplay contest. I was one of the winners in the contest that year. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast during the contest, even if it did run late and they messed up people's audio on multiple occasions. The stage was pretty nice, the judges were fabulously doting and generous, and I really liked the huge backdrop screen they had (if AM happens again, can we please have that back at some point?).

That being said, one of the other major winners had come up to me to congratulate me, and I them, and we had exchanged info to keep in touch. (You get really chummy in the holding room when you're with people for hours with nothing better to do.) She had been excited because the con had previously announced on Facebook that they were supposedly going to be sending the main category winners to Japan, which meant we were supposed to go.

I hadn't heard anything about this previously, but I took her word for it, and got stupidly excited too. It had also been mentioned that we were to give our info to be sent cash prizes the months following the con, not that I really was expecting anything because back then, they had been notorious for not giving money on time. You'd see posts on CosCom or here about how people never got paid out/awarded until almost a year after the con previous.

During that time, the tsunami had just devastated Japan, so they took that opportunity to raise money for tsunami relief and have huge donation collection tubes all around the con that were pretty full by Saturday.

In a Facebook post, they mentioned they had made a "nonprofit organization" called "Japan Helper" and had said all proceeds were going to help Japan with the destruction the tsunami caused. Come to realize from that other winner that she found out our supposed prize money was going to be sent to their nonprofit to donate. Okay, we weren't upset because at least it was going to a good cause right? At least we all had fun and got trophies/plaques/certificates! A quick search online has yielded absolutely no results on "Japan Helper" but that one Facebook post, and we never saw proof of a check to any donation funds.

I had spoken to some friends about what was going on, and some had investigated what was happening because things all sounded fishy with there being so much money donated at the con, and nothing to show from it. Two of my good friends brought this up to John personally. I was told by them that John then began harassing and stalking my friend's then-girlfriend's Facebook page to find out who told them about this and to "dig up dirt" on me and whoever else had told them, if he ever needed to keep someone quiet.

Keep in mind, I was only 15/16 then. She blocked him eventually, but she never let up on telling him who the sources were. She wasn't able to find logs of this because once you block someone on Facebook, it says "Facebook User", and she's since cleaned up her message log after a breakup, as it's been 4-5 years or so since that all happened, so we don't have screenshot proof anymore. I also don't recall who exactly I spoke to (her name/cosplay handle) that was giving me the information because I did multiple friend list cleanups myself, which sucks and was stupid on my part.

Funny thing is, not much after that, Planet Zero was closed down and the infamous notices about them having evaded taxes showed up everywhere.

Ok, here's what I have so far about past fgc stuff. I was asked not to use names in this account but it's from a longtime player in the area (I should mention; the PZ drama that went down is still a bit of a sore spot for that local community, so I don't want to drag any of them into it too much):
