Best way to be a blonde for the weekend

So, I don't want to buy a wig or dye my hair for my cosplay. Yet, I have brown hair and want to be a blonde. I've used color sprays before, and have had limited success. I'm curious, in cgl's all-knowing cosplay wisdom, what is the best way to make myself a blonde for 4 days? If it's a hair product, what's the best brand? Thank you!

But that's the point. I don't want to shell out a bunch of money for a high-quality wig (I've got rent to pay). I refuse to get a cheap wig. I'm not asking for a perfect solution, just the next-best thing.

You don't need to spend a lot of money for a high quality wig.
A bit of ebay searching and you can get a good wig for 15-30 bucks.
Seriously.
Hair sprays may cost you 10-20 bucks less, but it will look subpar.

There's some temporary tutorial for making cheap shitty wigs look nice, though I don't have it. Go buy some party city bullshit wig, some fabric softener, and some baby powder to start off. I think they also used some style holding spray? If anybody has the tutorial feel free to drop it, because this reply is the best I've got.

If you can't afford to cosplay to your standards, don't do it at all. There is literally no way to go blonde from a darker shade other than buying a wig or lightening your hair.

You could just buy manic panic flash lightning kit for like 10-11 bucks. Especially if you don't need it to look perfect. Or again, get a cheap wig, since you aren't entering a contest..

Color sprays only even look half-way decent going darker or from lighter to a bright color, never from darker to blonder. You could try spraying white first then use the blonde shade over but the $ it will cost you for 2 cans of each to get good enough coverage one time will buy you a decent wig you can wear many times. And the wig will look so much better. Listen to the wise anons sho replied before. Get the wig.

You could try chalking your hair. It will take a lot of time to put it on and it will stain your clothes, probably. I'm sorry but there just isn't an effective way to get what you want. Try to get a wig that you can use also later for other costumes?

Okay, I have used spray in hair color on multiple occasions (Halloweens when I was younger) and only once did it turn out well.
The one time it didn't look stupid and get all over the fucking place was when I did a joker costume and my hair was short. Also not doing a natural hair color helps.

So basically: get a goddamn wig.

>Your head gets sweaty

Pros of getting a wig:
>Almost always looks better and more clean with cosplay than natural hair
>Hundreds of cheap and reputable stores so you know what to expect when ordering
>Can be worn many times if cared for properly
>You can take it off mid-day if it does get too sweaty and take a break

Cons to spray dying:
>Has never looked as good as a wig for cosplay
>Messy and time consuming with little pay off
>Can be as expensive as a wig but can only be used for a short amount of time
>Having to restyle your hair for the con each day

Just buy a wig. If you're worried about it not arriving in time for the con, a lot of cons will have booths selling wigs so you could probably even buy one there.
