I really disagree with a guest (this con must be tiny as hell to consider pixielocks a guest) attending the masquerade contest. And as usual Jillian's giant head inflates further as she babbles on about how she sooooo didn't know she'd win and how it was technically her first cosplay.
Personally I just want to know an opinion from someone who attended her panel, if anyone did. But yeah some real professionalism hosting a one-panel holding seventeen year old nobody as a guest and then awarding her a best in show prize. It's really hard to watch her videos because of the degree of affectation she uses. It makes the things she is doing seem very vain and vapid because she is so self-absorbed. She seems more concerned with narrating her activities than actually doing them. She's really into vlogging as 'a thing' and it shows. Problem is, the stuff she's vlogging really isn't very interesting or engaging to anyone but herself and a small pool of weeb fans, she just doesn't seem to know it yet?

When my mind wanders to , "Hey I wonder if there's any cheese left" at less than 1/3 of the way through her 'exciting con adventure', then what more can I say?

still, i think she did a very good job with her cosplay, especially since she's only 17(?). there's always room for improvement but i think she did very well considering it's the first big outfit she's sewn (i'm assuming it is, anyway).
i know i sound like her/a whiteknight but i just wish i could sew and i don't understand how people think her cosplay is badly made. maybe not deserving of best in show, but i haven't seen the other contestants so i can't judge. their cosplays might've looked good on stage but they could've been badly constructed up close.

What really makes me cringe about this girl is this;
She brags, right out brags about all the brand she buys and her Japan trip which is going to be her grad gift from her mom. I feel like this is gonna be a Canadian version of Venus. Seeing as how her mom is her photographer and all. I mean it's cool seeing parents support Lolita fashion and Cosplay, and I honestly wish more parents did. However not to the point where they constantly brag about how special and amazing their child is over fucking facebook. Holy cow grow up. I also hate how how almost all of the maritimes community licks her ass. It's pretty disgusting. If it was honestly any other girl posting about brand, the community would just lash at her at being a show-off and a brand-whore. But not this sweet amazing cupcake. I'm also glad to see some other maritimers call her out.
