maybe i'm thinking of links where there are none, but to anyone who's browsed /fa/ in the past few years (esp. last year) does uchuu kei seem like a kawaii lunarcore? i know the space/futuristic theme is a shared trait, and in some of the inspo there seems to be a slight dystopian theme? i might be completely off here, idk

I don't think it is anything remotely simiar to Lunarcore as that looks rather like poofy casual hipster fashion than anything while uchuu is more like some magical space girl alien thing appearance wise.

if anything, uchuu looks more like the space grunge stuff tumblr was trying to make happen, and from the previous threads i'd say toned down cyberpop and the girliest kind of vaporwave are close too.

I think you could get away with a meetup somewhere "modern" looking, the LA Live area comes to mind, what with all the giant screens on buildings. Maybe a science or tech museum?

I bet you could get away with it at a rave or music festival too, though depends on which. It'd look dumb and you'd get real dirty at an event out in nature, but somewhere more concrete might work. My city tends to have big edm events at the sports arena, and while the main floor is loud and packed with dancing, the "outer ring" is better lit and full of people hanging out and talking while dressed really weird.

this fashion style is still in a developmental stage, but i think that they key is to make outfits that are casual/wearable, but still hold true to the ideals of the style. so its weird looking right now but i think if a few people mess around with outfits it could turn into something really spectacular.

Have you all checked out the designs for Sega's Phantasy Star series? Particularly Universe & Portable, which weren't all that great games but definitely incorporated some Uchuu-kei-ish ideas.

It looks unbalanced- too light on top, too dark on the bottom. A lot of metallic accents/glowy elements might be able to salvage this though. I agree that the tights are cute but the boots don't go at all and the shirt looks like it's been shoehorned in. If you want to wear a darker outfit then go for a black top and something that lights up.

You should go for that honestly. Fashion is expensive but the light-up, furred jackets are good for this style especially imo. I want to get into it eventually but this, like most jfash street wear, isn't for the larger side. I'll stick to the sidelines.
