He came up behind me multiple times throughout the day and would hug me from behind and run off into the crowds before I could see who it was. People should obviously use their common sense. Striking someone who has just made a sexually aggressive comment is probably less "appropriate" than just saying "No, I am not interested and never will be" and walking away. But it is certainly more appropriate than freezing up and doing nothing in the hopes that the person making those sexually aggressive comments will go away.

Stop thinking about this as a situation where "rude/mean things were said." Stop thinking about it as Guy vs Girl. Think about what happened, and pretend it was two guys, or even a girl doing the approaching to a guy.

Person A invades Person B's space and makes unwanted sexual advances, and then continues to stay in Person B's personal space. No matter the gender setup, this is unreasonable and sure to make nearly anyone uncomfortable or even scared. It would be unreasonable violence if Person A were permanently injured or scarred (or worse), but a simple physical reaction is, to me, completely reasonable - it shows an urgency to get that person away from you.

As I have said many times (and as you have ignored), if a woman gets all up on you and makes you feel sexually threatened, shove her. Punch her if you have to. I support this, because in a situation like that the reaction is completely valid.

I do see your point here, but it also shows that men are part of the problem. Women are not oppressing men, society as a whole, regardless of gender, don't think violence against or between men is as big of a problem as it is. But at the same time, women in both cases are more likely to diffuse the situation. Women in both cases realize there is something wrong, even if it's a small percentage of all the women who could have done something, it was still the women who did the most both times. Men are the ones making it so that women have "special treatment" not women making that decision for themselves.

I roomed with Big Al at shuto a while back. Talking with this cute girl who also roomed with us. Halfway through this, Al just grabbed this girl and pulled her into the hallway. I'm finally able to go to the FBM in Germany again. I'm a fairly normal dude, I just enjoy hanging out with cosplayers even though it's been a while. If I go up to some cosplayers and introduce myself, how hard would it probably be for me to just hang out with them for the day/the duration of the con? Not fat, not a neckbeard, good hygiene etc. Thoughts?

Most congoers (including cosplayers) don't just show up to a con and do nothing. They always have plans -- friends to meet, merch to hunt down, panels/events to run/participate in/see, and even the ones ghosting the cons are focused on getting photographs of their cosplays taken. They're not going to have much time or patience to deal with a complete stranger following them around the whole day (and if you're blocking the photographer from taking a photograph of them, be prepared to face their annoyance).

So at most you can find someone bored enough to chat with you for a couple of hours, but they'll eventually have to leave to do something else, and it's going to look really pathetic if you try to cling to them.

Even when it's a teenage girl doing this clinging to strangers shit, it's already annoying enough that some congoers have complained about ending up with a duckling following them around. When a grownass man decides to do it? The cringe factor goes up tenfold, and you're setting yourself up to be next year's creeper story.
