I was only a closetfag at the time and tried desperately to dress like a normie, with... less than desireable results.

Tons, went from hating fashion in general to feeling sorry for myself for not being thin enough to wear it, eventually got over it and just started wearing clothes that fit me, damn the sizes. Fashion changed me as a person because I no longer felt uncomfortable in what I wore. I usually wear very toned down stuff since I live in a small town.

I started cosplaying around 2012. I did this shitty swimming anime ending theme cosplay and sewed all the patches onto the sleeves myself. I still wear it haha.

I used to love wearing cute things if my mom bought them for me, but she stopped so I just couldn't be bothered myself. I also couldn't be bothered to do my own hair so i just chopped it off.
When I realised I was gay I decided I was gonna be this ultra butch sex machine but I cried when people called me "sir" by accident so I went out and bought the girliest shit I could find and now I'm much happier :D

I couldn't find my tablet pen so this took a million years. I got into cosplay around the age of 13 and was massively weeby, and became one of those weeb scene kids until chilling out and finding lolita. I'm currently in school studying fashion and keep my weeb shit secret. I don't cosplay very much any more but still have a small interest in it.

The high school budget gyaru thing wasn't terrible, probably the best I could do with what I had. I had a lot of second hand japanese stuff. I did such a 180 in high school, that senior/junior year, people kept asking me how long I had been at the school or where I had transferred from.
I'm a little afraid that lolita fashion will be a phase for me too, seeing my reputation. I really don't ever want to lose interest.

I let my hair air dry for about 20 mins until it's wet to the touch but not soaking, then use products and blow dry it. I used a cheap ceramic one for a while but it kept falling apart, then got a nicer "Tourmaline" one from Sephora, seems to work about the same but doesn't fall apart like the cheap ones did.
I find that any kind of wind on my hair while it's drying fucks it up, so I wrap my hair around the brush part way (not so wound up that the hair gets stuck and tangled) and then stick my blow dryer at the end of the brush, so it heats my hair from the center and heats up the brush without having the air directly on my hair. (does this make sense?)
I break up my hair into about 8 sections (first I pin up the top half, then pull my hair in front of my shoulders so half is on my left and half is on my right, then do two strands on each of my shoulders, then repeat for the top half of my hair) and hold my brush at my scalp for 30 seconds before slowly pulling the brush with the blow dryer on it down the length of my hair the rest of the way. I find that my hair misbehaves if I try and get it really straight, so I spend the last 10-20 seconds or so with my ends wrapped around the brush, then turn off the heat and leave my hair around the brush like that for another 10 seconds or so to give the ends a nice curl.

The products I was using until it started getting humid around here are:

when I shower I make sure to only shampoo my scalp and only condition my ends, and I make sure to leave the conditioner in for at least a couple of minutes.
I also don't wash my hair every day. Only a couple of times a week, maybe two or at most three. In between washes I put my hair in a low ponytail when I slept and that kept everything ruly. In fact for some reason I'd often wake up with straighter hair than the day I actually wash/dry it.
Though for some reason right before the heat wave that suddenly changed and my hair was curly in the morning... again, I think that might have been due to the humidity.

I think the best advice I can give is to not try and straighten your hair completely... instead, try to find out how you can work with your curls to just make them nicer and more relaxed. When I blow dry my hair, I try and keep nice loose ringlets rather than trying to force it straight.

I'm still struggling with it myself, but it will get better. Don't give up, anon. You'll make it.

Until 11, I only wore dresses that my mother chose for me. Trousers were "too tight and uncomfortable"
Between 11 and 14, I still let my hair grow as much as possible, but tied it almost everyday. As no one in my middle school wore dresses, I stopped and refused to wear any of those again. Jeans and jogging pants everyday. I loved pink so ugly pink tee shirts with childish girly patterns.
At 15, I cut my hair at my ears' level. It was still natural but darker and darker. I only wore jeans and plain t shirts but started wearing really light make up.
At 16, I dyed my hair lighter.
At around 17, I started wearing heels (rarely), and glasses. I got interest in otome and lolita and started to wear Axes Femme cutsews in a regular basic. I tried to wear skirts again.
Now, I mainly wear tonned-down otome/lolita, though with really few hair accessories, unless I have a meet-up or something.

It's like I almost was pretty for a while and now I'm back to the weeaboo stage. I was super self-conscious when I was 13-18 years old. Nowadays I don't really spend much time with clothes or makeup stuff, I'm more interested in cosplay than fashion. I'm a neet who doesn't really spend much time outside anyways so I don't really have to look pretty, I just kind of wear whatever that I like. I also tried out lolita, because I was interested in it for a long time. Wasn't my thing, I like my fashion comfortable and down to earth. I think my style has evolved to be a mix of everything that I have tried rather than being one style in particular.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression and just wore hoodies, JNCO jeans, Hot Topic, etc. I didn't care about my appearance and didn't take good care of my skin during this time and had a lot of acne. This was also my weeby furry phase.

Depression definitely had an impact on my fashion sense when I was younger and what was trendy at the time. I used to be a happy little kid that wore anything until puberty.

Now that I'm in my mid 20's, I've matured A LOT and my depression has been somewhat under control, but it doesn't affect my fashion sense anymore. All I want to do now is dress in cute Japanese clothes and practice make up.

Had an extremely short pixie cut that I would always wear behind my ears. I used to have hair down to my ass but my step dad took me to the barber when I was 9 and had my head completely shaved. He told me it was "punishment for not taking care of your hair". Wasn't til I was in my 20's that I learned it was because he and my mom got into a fight, so while she was at work he 'punished' her by having her daughter's hair buzzed.

Parents divorced, and mom became much more laid back after my crazy step father was out of the picture. Got really into anime, naruto, inu yasha, bullshit like that. Had HORRIBLE acne and didn't know how to use makeup or style my hair. Wore the same outfit every day. JNCO jeans and a giant sweatshirt.

"discovered" makeup, and got REALLY into the "scene" phase. Wore crazy outfits with lots and lots of layers, and hundreds of jelly bracelets and layered necklaces. 2 belts ERY DAY. Dyed my hair different colors every other week. I flip flopped back and forth between colorful scene outfits, and black/red emo.
Still have terrible acne but learned to tone it down with makeup.

Acne is under control but I still get cysts, all the time. Even after 2 boughts of accutaine treatments. I've pretty much accepted the fact that I will never leave the house without makeup.
Normie femme style but dabble in Mori every once in a while.

I kind of just wore whatever when I was really young until I went through my scene phase. I pretty much only shopped at hot topic and claire's then. I cosplayed from Naruto and I'm glad there are no pictures.

While I like how I looked, I think shaving my head was probably one of the worst things I did because it took FOREVER to grow back.
