This is bait, but a reasonable reason would be:

itas hate replicas because it's a common idea in lolita fashion (it exists in other fashions, but not to this level of emphasis) that wearing replica = ita, and wearing brand = not ita. For the most part, this is true, as a lot of dresses for example in the nightmare dress thread would be excused for being brand, and many all brand coordinates get a better pass since the items individually are quality. However, if an ita gets brand items, they can still be ita since ita is based on appearance alone. So rather than having brand = good, they get told that even with brand, they are not a good lolita.
Then there may be lolitas who are good at coording and get away with replicas because they can pull it off well. In those cases, the ita might be very mad because their impressions weren't right. So then, they all hate replicas.

Also about the bootleg tabletop figurines: in every hobby there is someone who is strict about rules and someone who is not. Lolita fashion is just more populated with people strict about rules because the fashion is very rule-orientated (esp. in the west) so it attracts people who like fashion not for the aesthetics but for the structure (hence why lolitas may have so much trouble getting into less defined fashions, like larme).

Good points. I always found it silly that there are "rules" for playing dress up.

The way I figure is if someone puts together a nice EGL outfit that 0 fucks given about what is on the tag. I've been a part of a few reenactment groups that are strict on time period. But if someone is good enough to hide their machine stitching than they won't flip their shit.
