when you ask what is easiest to coord, and there are many options that are easy to coord it helps to have a fucking reference point to see what you are trying to go with. cheezy has many different styles to pick from and there are quite a few that are coordinating friendly so when you come in and ask a dumb question without giving a bit more detail it's only natural you're going to be called out on it.

Ok let's give this a shot then! I'm in need of some major concrit. This is my first time at trying to make a Menhera coord so it's pretty crappy. So definitely, loose the hat. I don't think it is adding anything to this coord.
I also don't consider this terribly menhara or decora. It is missing some solid menhara elements aside from your one choker, and not a lot of accessories I feel enough to make it decora.

That whole outfit is a mess. I saw this on tumblr and you wanted to submit this outfit for some fashion show. Please don't embarrass yourself, you still need to learn the basics of the fashion and how to get a good fit.

For concrit, that whole outfit looks frumpy, the shoes are a no go because those are too sweet looking since they are for lolita, nothing screams menhera at all. The socks also makes your legs look more short as well. Your accessories aren't menhera themed except for the chocker but it's not enough. Lose the hat as well or try to do a different hairstyle to compliment the hat but it would be better to just get better hair accessories and no hat.

The outfit just looks like it was thrown together and it looks really off. I think it's better to throw out that whole outfit and start over. Decora is a hard style to get the hang of since there shold be a balance of accessories but also of it being ott. Imo, just start with a basic menhera outfit and learn how to coord properly since this fashion has little rules and it is casual so it shouldn't be that difficult. Later on once you have the right fit, you can experiment with decora. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

And for some tips on making yourself look sickly with your makeup, go for a foundation a few shades lighter than your actual skin, and focus red more around your eyes.


Also please for the love of everything try and find things that fit. I understand how you feel but sometimes being impatient can fuck you up and make you put out a really bad outfit. I believe something more tightly fit can work better on your body than something baggy. I am glad you took my concrit well and I hope you luck on your experimenting after you learn how to do a proper menhera outfit. Take your time, find what colors compliment you, which style of menhera looks better (darker with hints of pastel colors or pastels all over, etc) and go from there.

Adding to what others have said:

-Your brows look really dark and heavy. Try using a pencil a shade or two lighter than the one you currently use, it'll make your face look less frumpy. Learn to contour your eyes, they look tiny- even if you want to make yourself look sick, a bit of eyeshadow will make you look more put together and cute.
-The choker is fine but the rest isn't. It all looks really childish, and while some people can pull it off you can't, at least not with that outfit. Since you have a garter maybe use that as a theme- pink leather bracelets and chokers will look less weird and more cohesive.
-I know you get this, but fitting clothes are important. You don't seem to be more than chubby but that top makes you look obese. It doesn't have to be skintight, just fitting enough to show you're not pregnant.
-Longer/no socks would make your legs look a lot better, they look cut in half here. Heels also help, even a low heel/thick soles can make your legs look slimmer.

It takes guts to selfpost here and you've been taking concrit well, so kudos for that. You're not that ugly either- you need to learn to contour and your hair+makeup+hat make your features look lumpy and squished. It can be fixed, anon.

Consensus seems to be that bottom left and top right are fine as is. To anon asking about colorways, the thigh highs will be split colors for each pair, I don't really want to do matching. (ex. Your tights always seem kind of busy when it comes to designs. I think you would fare pretty well if you took it a step back, and did something simpler. You should really experiment with different kinds of lines when you're making them too. Your basic sai brush lines are getting kind of boring, and I'd like to see something more from them. You just need to work on making more cohesive designs, because right now it's kind of like 'oh yeah!! menhera motifs!! time to shove all of them into one design' when a lot of them would look better if they just had one main motif. An example of this is your latest top left pair. The drippy colors + anime girls + hearts AND Japanese text is just overkill, man. My opinion is widely disagreed with, but I don't really care.

I really like and would definitely buy #2. Though #1 and #4 are cute (I like the design around the girls), I don't like the actual girls being on the tights. I have a feeling they'd look odd printed, like #1 would have her face on my knee and #4 would look busy on my shins. I'd prefer a simple silhouette of something like a nurse/schoolgirl/etc.

My profit margin is just ok. I really wasn't aware of how much etsy shoves fees over everything. (I read their policies before opening and didn't think it'd be too bad but after surveying my finance data, they take annoying amount of $ out.) especially based on what I pay per item vs what I charge. I revised the original top left. I simplified them. As said above, I tossed the idea of the girl drawings on these. I'm just going to stick with single color variations on the magical girl ones bc anon earlier helped me think more about it and I think it would be smarter this way. As for proper critique everything went well together and was cute other than the cardigan. I get the look you were going for and I would've loved it, but the chunky knit and the warmer pink throws the outfit off. Personally I think the coord would look cuter with it untucked. The eyeballs don't look as bad in this one because you only see the sides, but they still detract from the look and feel very cheap and cheesy halloween decoration-ish. I'd recommend more cutesy or more subtle gore accessories if you're keen on them. The ones you choose suit a much more western type of gore theme.

I like the layering and color balance for the outfit with shorts as well, but again the necklace, eyeballs, and hands look very out of place and detract from the look. Besides what I mentioned above the necklace looks awkwardly placed. A shorter necklace or a choker would looked much better. And finally an accessory on the top of your head would balance it out even more. Even just a pink or red headband would be cute.

Overall despite the bad accessory choices I actually like the shorts outfit better. It's a very cute and a bit less common outfit. I saved both to my inspo folder and I hope you post again anon.

All you have to say is you posted but didn't get much real critique. And yeah that's exactly what I mean, they say it to literally everyone including actual anorexics. It's pure shitposting and should be ignored. Bringing it up again makes it much more likely for it to happen again or have someone else decide to do it. But you do have a different body shape and while that itself has nothing to do with an outfit directly the fit and silhouette does. Good luck on your weight loss anon, I'll be cheering you on. 1. byojaku=/=instant Menhera - we often see Kuua Oyasumi’s Fairy Kei and Goth coords getting tagged as Menhera only for her makeup

2. makeup gone wrong - you are supposed to look fragile, not like a domestic abuse victim or someone going to a rave

3. unfitting motifs - there is a lot of casual wear that can be worn but even the cutest medical tigh highs won’t make a Care Bears tee fit

I'd say it's more of a case by case basis. Like for example that anon that wanted to wear the weed shirt. It seems edgy in a childish and mainstream way as opposed to the usual menhera way. What is acceptable depends on if you're wearing gurokawaii or menhera and what type of style you're going for. I think that's where most of the confusion comes from. Listen flavor example has that kind of "gross gore" type of look to it sometimes. So I feel your accessories would fit in with that, but with the softer and cuter style you were wearing it made it look odd. The details on the accessories looked like they belonged to the gross type of gore while everything else was very uniquely menhera and cute gore.

The way I try to imagine it an outfit was a drawing. If a girl was drawn in a generic digital animu style and then all of a sudden her feet were photorealistic with tons of hair and boils drawn in a traditional style. It would just look jarring in a bad way instead of a shocking way. I'm pretty bad at comparisons but you get what I mean hopefully.

As for rules other than following the aesthetic I don't think there really are any. It also depends on personal taste, for example I see absolutely nothing menhera-ish about cleavage or naked breasts and yet I've seen anons and people on tumblr saying a shirt with just a topless generic anime girl is perfect for menhera. I would personally disagree on the "you need one piece of main clothing to be obviously gurokawaii/menhera" front. I think subtle menhera is much harder than subtle gurokawaii is though. A monochrome outfit with subtle spooky themes is much easier to pull off than the average fairy kei coord with a random syringe tacked on. In fact the most subtle menhera coord I've seen that looked decent still had patterned shibari tights and a few other accessories. I'd say subtle menhera in pastels is definitely more of a thing that you do once you feel like you've got the basics down. (1/2)

I feel like if you spread out accessories from your head to your toes you could get away with it. I tried to make a coord as subtle as I could while still being very obviously menhera. The bloodstained badge would help more, but I feel like if you got everything right the other one could too in a relatively plain outfit.

If you aren't going for subtly and just want to use less obvious or plain main pieces you could use those blood chokers and other similar things as well, but I think the biggest key is to not have too much of a strong gore/menhera vibe in the accessories as well because it will make your clothes seem very plain and out of place.

Also not so seem like I creep but I found you through cherrychezzy's tumblr. I think some of the subtle menhera makeup would really polish off the look.

Mostly people talking to each other and linking it to each other. It's not the majority but a lot of the times it seems softcore porn + slightly creepy affect equals menhera to some people.
