Is cosplaying fan designed outfits bad? I want to cosplay D.va since she's my main, but I don't really like any of her skins that much except the default one. I want to change things up a bit without just doing casual gremlin D.va or a bunny suit.

It not complete yet anon. Thats why. She only just finished the canteen from the looks of it. I think this is a body shot with what she does have complete so far. Up close some of the paint job is messy, but I think this is her first time prop making? I haven't ever seen her do props before. Looking through a few pages and it seems the base of the arm is a long sleeve silk glove.

Yeah, I basically only like her default skin (really not a fan or her legendary skins) and her olympics one. Like you said, it's hard to stand out. There are already a lot of D.va's with decent armor and guns, even if they're just wearing the lazy zentai suit. I'm hoping Halloween brings some cool skins.

If you decide to mod the korea olympics one, I'd love to see! I honestly haven't found an artist's design that I'm really into.

That's true. I'm likely just going to hold out for a skin that I like. I've already made her gun, but I haven't painted it yet, because I can't pick a skin. I do like some crossovers that I've seen like Evangelion and D.va since I'm pretty sure D.va's suit is inspired by Eva.

The carbon fiber skin is probably my second choice after the olympics one. I've seen a few people cosplay the carbon fiber, white rabbit, and tangerine. The tangerine cosplayer did a really good job since the suit had actual straps and leather/vinyl parts and wasn't just a printed zentai.

The fact that the front piece is armor certainly doesn't help either. I think this is one of those costumes where it'd really benefit cosplayers to take advantage of the white-on-black thing and exaggerate the curves of the armor piece in the front to give the illusion of a smaller waist and counter the inherent bulk factor of the armor a little.

I agree in that at least Nigri's was well done. Not even close to being a fan of Jessica but her construction for her Roadhog was at least pretty good if not good. I love you. This won't work amazingly with all fabrics I am sure, but it looks like the thing to do with knits. I know from experience that backing fabric with thicker stuff when you sew it together also helps give a more "ridge-y" look than just sewing strips of fabric together. I've also seen people iron ribs into knits, but I like this option better. It seems like it'll hold up better for areas that need more stretch.

Good thing she is so damn skinny in her legs. Makes it so easy to hide her shins and feet behind the prosthetic. This is really good. Add this to the list of people who did a good Junkrat.

I will say it could use some trimming where the center meets her brow so there isn't a huge overhang and then to spirit it in place. Also dirty is up a bit more, but this is just for show right now, not full on thing, so I don't expect it to be as dirty as I'd personally like. Some distressing on the spikes would make sense too.
