if you're being serious, honestly, you should see a therapist. in my experience that type of obsessiveness devolves into an eating disorder (and statistically that's going to be bullemia... not anorexia so you will just end up gaining more weight and hating yourself more).

Hating yourself won't make it better like >>9208414 said. In fact, it'll probably make things worse. how about you work on your brain before your body.

you need to lose weight for the right reasons; like health. not because you think you're too fat to be cute.

everyone has potential. find out what works for you.

>> No.9208543 [DELETED]

Some people can't keep it up if they only get fit for looks because mentally they won't see themselves as different and they might not be in the right mindset to stick with a healthy eating habit either.

I have a friend who thinks she is fat and she has lost 7lbs already in a week and is super proud. All she has been doing is working out and drinking water, barely eating. I tried to sit her down and explain what she is losing is most likely water weight and if she eats normal again, she will have a hard time keeping the weight off because she isn't losing fat right now. She is losing weight in the wrong way and is bound to fail to be honest. She needs to work on eating healthy meals first, get into the habit of that, and then start working out on top of that. Not only drink water, barely eat, and be in the gym 2hrs a day.

Wore this to the fair yesterday. Also didn't know how to tag it on insta since I'm not sure if its really casual lolita/ lolita since my skirt has no poof (it can fit my cp petti though) should I remove the tag or leave it?

My shirt also has little crosses on the collar but my hair is so poofy, its hard to see it...

I don't think it would count as casual lolita but it's definitely cute to me aside from the socks.

>> No.9212786

So far removed from casual Lolita that it makes me wonder whether you even know what that is. It makes just as much sense to call this a football uniform or a full pursuit as it does to call it casual Lolita.

You're on the right track generally, but I think you should ditch that dress, like, not just for larme but in general. Your chest looks absolutely squished.

this has some potential for toned down gyaru if you switched the shirt (dress?) and necklace for something a bit flashier, especially if you added some more volume to your hair.

>> No.9214281

if you're going for mori I think you've completely missed the mark. I can kind of understand your reasoning with the layers, but it's not just a matter of needing more layers, I think none of the pieces you've used could ever really be mori either. Mori is supposed to be naturey and natural, so you'll want naturey colors like brown and tan to comprise the majority of our outfit, and you'll want to focus on natural fiber pieces and chunky knits. I don't know if mori has any associated brands, but you might want to start with brand pieces before branching out to off brand and especially (I'm assuming) western clothing, so you get a better grasp of what mori really looks like.

>> No.9214317

This is cute! I think taking it a step up and pairing the dress with a girlier jacket and shoes would take it to that next level. It would help of the shoes had a bit of heel too, since this outfit makes your legs look good as is. Also i think your hair needs a little something, a new dye job and cut. The bangs are a little sparse. Just a few things here and there, but you're adorable.

I think she was going more for that "dark mori" thing.

OP: just so you know, dark mori/strega was something that was invented in the west. and while there's nothing wrong with the style, a lot of people don't really consider it jfashion. at the very least, you are going to have difficulty finding coords from Japan to inspire you. that being said, I still think you missed the mark even for dark mori. it feels like you have too much skin showing at the top, and you are correct that you need more layers. your hair seems very "normie" as well. you need more of an aetherial/witch from the woods feel than you have going on.

there has been strega threads on here in the past, so perhaps you can find those and take a look for inspo. you could also look at regular mori and try to translate that into more of a dark/witchy thing (but I would get a feel for the western version of the style before branching out too much). good luck!

>> No.9214431

Definitely look into styling your hair a bit more. I know how much of a chore that can be daily but it would make a lot of difference for things like this.

>> No.9214465

Actually, h.Naoto Gramm is alternately promoted as dark mori and gothic lolita (not all their clothing fits both styles though). It's fairly cheap secondhand, but mainly posting it to point out you could probably use look to h.Naoto coords for inspiration.

As for the origin of dark mori, it originated as a joke with the original Japanese morigirls, someone wrote a list similar to the original morigirls list, calling themselves swamp girls (numa girl). The livejournal girls thought the idea was interesting and ran with it, creating dark mori. Not entirely accurate to say it's a completely western creation, but not entirely inaccurate either, since numa girl was mainly a joke, not quite a fashion.

Strega is a seperate thing invented by a tumblr user long after swamp girl/dark mori and is properly western. It got lumped together with dark mori because when people first posted it on cgl there would be entire threads of long arguments about whether or not strega was dark mori repackaged, and the janitors stepping in to say if strega wasn't jfashion then it should be posted on /fa/.

Just an fyi sorta thing. polite sage for off topic.

1. Gulls have no friends to take pictures of their coords, presumably due to high sodium levels.
2. Gulls blow all their money on animu and jfash shit so they can't afford a camera from the last decade.
3. (not all posts) but damn guys, for being the mecca of up to date discussion of j-fash, the quality of coords here is seriously lacking. the knit dress, which is the focus of the outfit, looks cheap and poorly made. the sweater underneath is nice but the thing over it is doing her (you?) no favors. look how it falls on the body

and what's going on with the leggings? it looks like there's opaque black leggings and then she tried to fill in the gap with a pair of sheer socks. choose one or the other.

the main issue is that fugly dress though and if this is you then you should consider not wearing it. it does not flatter you. the look isn't polished for these reasons, and larme (which i assume this was supposed to be) relies on details and clothes that flatter the body in a fashionable way. this is not doing that.

I love the coordinate on the left so, so much.

....am I the only one that doesn't like this?

>> No.9238381

Nope, not the only one. Everything is ill fitting and frumpy.

>> No.9238384

It's a self post thread, nobody is breaking out the Nikon to take an artfully composed photo. These are daily outfit shots and, I don't know about you, but I'm not spending hours taking high quality photos when I've got things to do.

Secondly, most of the posts here are from newbies that seem to be looking for critique/help. Other than that, there have been some cute coords. I've been enjoying the thread so far which is new because I typically stay out of jfash threads.

You sound like the kind of insecure person that hates other people being confident enough to post photos of themselves.

she was popular a while back for being a complete kooter wannabe. copied her outfits and shots and whatnot. I don't care too much about her but I HATED how she altered a few AP pieces into super short mini dresses. why??

>> No.9239125

your cardigan looks frumpy in material+the color of it is harsh against the skirt and your shoes don't match the outfit at all imo but you're cute and that jacket is adorable! and the stars are a bit strange but if it's a signature piece, work it. your charm dangles are way cute too, anon

>> No.9239134

I love your hair, anon. Is it pretty low maintenance to keep the color since it's only near the bottom? I'm a bit hair-stupid and I want to ask for that when I go to the salon but I don't know what to ask for

>> No.9239202

That is not real fur lol

>> No.9239291

Ah yes fur from the rare pink cottontail

>> No.9240839

Thank you, it's very low maintenance. I just have to condition my ends a bit more, and I also like to put semipermanent colours over the ends to try different gradient looks out (in fact it's rare for me to leave them bare/natural coloured like in that pic). I suggest googling for pictures of ombre hair (or balayage if you're into the highlighted look) and bringing in some that you like.

>> No.9241316

Thank you! I'm actually only 5'4" but I practically live in platforms. I have found it difficult to find a lot of mori coords but I know there's a shop where I live that has great pieces for layering so I'm going to see what I can do.

Wore this today! Here I'm wearing pantyhose, but I feel like my legs look too naked. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to wear instead?

>> No.9244696

I think it's fine that your legs are bare since the boots have the trim which add a lot of detail, but you might want to consider a necklace or something in your hair instead.
I really think adding to your legs would be way too busy and a lot of gyaru originally had a bare leg anyway (which in its own way is a focal point of an outfit).

>> No.9244699

Thanks the input! I definitely feel less self conscious about my legs looking bare now. The sweater came with a pearl necklace, but I took it off for fear it made me look overly-dressy. I'll put it back on next time I wear the outfit.

>> No.9244874

There's nothing wrong with bare legs in this kind of jfashion IMO. Putting on printed tights or adding a longer sock or something for the sake of putting it on (not counting for warmth obviously) is just making the outfit a clusterfuck.

Your outfit is on the simple side, but cohesive and not an eyesore bc you didn't try to shoehorn 80 different elements in it.

>> No.9244892

Thank you! I was mostly thinking about tight options because I want to wear this into the colder months, but like many gyaru, I should probably just deal, haha.

>> No.9245029

Was this meant to be gyaru? Other than wearing Liz Lisa you're not in gyaru at all, where's the hair and make?

>> No.9245035

Chill anon, it's a daily fashion thread. Lots of posts in here don't fit under any category or are just ~inspired~

>> No.9245045

I'm totally chill but its just odd that people seem to think gyaru is in the clothes to me, never said its not adorable just confused since claudie mentioned gyaru

>> No.9245047

could go with a leg warmer, something woolen and cream would look cute, probs would need a different shoe though

>> No.9245108

Yeah, I meant for it to be himekaji, which is still gyaru but suuuuper toned down. I teased my ponytail a bit, but it's hard to see from the picture I took. The make is also very basic. To be honest, I don't consider this outfit to be very gyaru.

I'll try this with some cream elements too, thank you for the suggestion!

>> No.9245505

Just because its himekaji doesn't mean you can wear any old makeup, still needs to be gal make

Don't forget the kaji part of himekaji, anon. I think what she has is pretty sufficient, esp. for a daily outfit.

Looking at LL promotional material and shopgirls, some edge more toward true gyaru make-up and hair (left) but others keep it more light.

Maybe if you'd curled some of those side strands it'd frame your face nicely Claudie, but I think the make-up is fine.

Thanks anon! I was trying to go with more what the shopgirls do for make, especially since I went to class in that. I'll curl the strands more next time, though, since that sounds really cute!

>> No.9246581

Yeah, agreed with the other anon- your outfit is nice but it definitely shouldn't be called himekaji without gal hair and makeup. Please don't be one of those people who waters gal down to some unrecognisable because you can't be bothered to put actual effort in, every other gal you ever meet will hate you, and with good reason. Our fashion is dying fast enough without people watering it down to serve their own laziness.

Ok, thank you for the advice! I'll be more wary of using the term gyaru in the future.

A really REALLY simply gyaru coord. I'm trying to improve but I feel like my coords are always so lackluster and plain.
