Not cosplay but lolita related. I was in a hurry in the morning, I had exam so I had to go to school. I decided to open a package with scissors and of course they slipped. I got a deep cut between my index and middle finger. It didn't hurt or look bad so I just decided to leave. When I had walked for awhile it started to hurt and I accidently pulled my fingers apart. The pain was awful. It was the exam from horrors because I kept moving the fingers while I was concentrating and I immediately taped my fingers together when I got home. The healing took forever and I still have a scar even though this was a few years ago.

Wow, you gotta be more careful people. Last time I hurt myself more than regular small cut or pricking with pin or needle was when I was making wooden sword and hacked myself with a hand axe in the thumb (nail area). Luckily enough I was 5 or 6 years old so it wasn't with much force and the axe wasn't too sharp (my folks had a bit laxer approach to safety than it's normal nowadays and I'm glad for it). Even though it looked really vicious at first, even my nail survived it - initially was kinda disfigured, but it was gradually improving and by the time I was 20 it looked pretty normal.

I had lathing class at school. Apparently there's a movie where some kids bully another one by hangig a string around his neck and it gets caught in the lathe. Kid gets pulled into the lathe face first and dies. Just East Europoor things. I cringe at all the Youtube videos of people working with their shirt tails flying around. And I'm terrified of lathes ever since.

Oh and our teaher would yell at us every time we left the tension wrench in for a second more than holding on to it. Safety fucking first.

Wore heeled boots to Otakon this past summer without socks (just sheer tights as it was hot as balls). In addition to walking around the con, I didn't have time to wait for an Uber for a photoshoot at the pier so I walked to and from, about a mile each way. I had to wear flip flops the next day as my pinkie toes had both developed blisters the size of my actual toes, and my toenails got so bruised one of them fell off.

Lesson learned, always wear socks with boots, and practice walking in heels BEFORE a convention.

I used to work as a seamstress for a bridal shop and for obvious reasons we were REALLY good at getting blood out of our dresses. A few ofthe older ladies were so used to pin pricks that the brides noticed them bleeding on their dresses well before they did. (They have always been very understanding somehow.)

My own damage was chainmailing while talking to my dad, who is genuinely an infuriating moron, and eventually getting fed up and throwing my tools to the ground. Or, in one plier's case, an inch into my ankle.

He didn't take me to the nearest doctor for like an hour because it was too expensive.

I'm way better at chainmaille now.

Maybe it's stress fracture? I had similar situation some years ago when I was travelling with somewhat new shoes and without spare pair. My both feet slowly started to hurt and got swollen. Because I didn't want to miss anything I just kept walking with painful feet. The first month after getting back home was hell, I couldn't even walk straight. But eventually the pain got lesser and the last months it was just randomly painful when walking. I'd say it took around half a year to heal. So Anon, I hope it will get better soon.
