I've yet to see a wig I like, I think to get the proper effect you'd have the start from scratch to get the wefts to lay correctly. Possibly a wire frame? Or maybe some sort of base in the back that goes halfway down to put the wefts for the lower half of the wig on, so it doesn't weigh 30 pounds? Either way it'll be a pain to transport.

Mango did hers at youmacon which is nov 3rd-6th. A quick google search shows many many other cosplayers with varying dates of photos. The issue wasnt that mango is the original and only mimikyu its that she made a basic asa design (a dress with a hood) then when a different girl made hers it was, in her mind, a rip off and she made a big public deal out of it instead of just messaging the girl. Jinx stated hers is a black dress with a hooded apron, so its not the same. But from the one photo mango had enough to attack and force the girl to give her credit where it wasnt due.

the wig is definitely not washable unfortunately since it is pretty stiff and held together with a lot of glue and hairspray and a few wiring in the tails. i went for the stiff look because i hadn't really seen it done and i wanted to see how it'd end up desu. didn't exactly end up how i wanted it to, but the next hair piece i make i plan on making it a little looser and hopefully with an actual lacefront.

fun fact, the eye makeup was inspired by classic manba looks! immediately thought of them when i first saw her design.

I hope you guys don't mind self posting in here, but I'm looking for some feedback and value Anon honesty over coddling from irl friends. Also sorry for shit tier quality photo.

I got my wig for Lillie in today, and like a major idiot cut the side bangs shorter than hers are. Do you think it looks like absolute garbage how it is? Or is it decent? I don't really want to have to throw out a perfectly fine wig and buy another just because the sides are a couple of centimetres too short, but if it really does look gross then it's something I'm willing to do.

In the official artwork they're at mouth level so I see why they're too short, but I'd say you're fine where they're at. I mean, yes, they're ever so slightly too short, but it looks alright to me. I wouldn't care about those bangs to that degree if I saw you out and about.

Maybe actually shorten and if possible fatten the ponytails a smidge? They seem to stop right under the diaphragm and yours are a bit longer. I mean, now that we're nitpicking, right?

i agree about fattening the braids though, they're really iconic of Lillie's look. Maybe get some extra wefts in to really fill them out? I'd also say they could be a touch shorter.

Also, just as a general thing, maybe try make the tips of her collar rounder to suit the reference more?

Thank you! I was planning on cutting the braids shorter, for today I just wanted to get the wig to a point where I could chuck it on and take some cute selfies. I'll see what I can do about making the collar rounder too, it's two layers of fabric with a top stitch so it might be a bit tricky but I'm sure if I unpick the topstitching around the points I should be able to push them in a bit.

I'm the Olivia cosplayer posted from before, I figured why not self post since I finished the rest of the cosplay :)
I forgot one of the ankle bracelets at home the day I shot this + my hip chain came loose at some point and I forgot to put on of the beads back on once I re-threaded it, but I tried my best to recreate all the jewelry and get the cartoony chunkiness it all has.
The one the Im really not happy with it the harness. I could not figure out a way to make it removable and make it so it wouldn't yank down my top when I put the chain on it. I'm pretty happy with the rest of it overall though.

It's not bad. One thing I noticed right away was on your necklace the blue paint bled onto the black bead it's connected to. It's a small detail but I noticed it right away.
Maybe smooth the sides of the bracelets some? Their rough edges make em look too chunky.
As for the harness, maybe fabric tape the top to your chest right there, and then maybe have the harness attached at a couple points on the shirt so it drags down less from weight.

That's really wonderful, anon! I'd probably only suggest re-making your shorts out of a darker stretch fabric to better match the reference, and also second other anon's suggestion to attach the harness in points of the top to prevent pulling.
