Think it's because it's dropped waist breaking the proportions, and the dropped waist is going fuller as if it's the skirt on APs picture (considering Asians are not as curvy, I consider that curve the work of the petti). With how many single items second hand stores have to photograph, can't blame them for not putting it all nicely on a mannequin. Brands make a few photo's after posing one dress and sell hunderts of dresses, Closet Child and Wunderwelt need multiple photo's per sale. If you look for the item, I don't think you miss it because of a off-the-rack photo. Don't think it's a problem, those stores are doing well by their prices alone already.

Depending what it is and where it's coming from I wouldn't call it unreasonable. Shipping from USA to non-USA is horrible (around 55USD), and some countries only allow priority shipping if you want tracking, which easily cost that much too if you get a whole dress or a pair of shoes when it's from another continent.

If you really want the dress and the price itself is reasonable, I wouldn't worry over 45USD shipping, especially not on your dreamdress. It's not an impossible high price unless you buy only a simple necklace or something...
