I want to cosplay almost all the rivals from Yandere Simulator but I'm ashamed to. The dev and fandom are just so cringey, and the game itself is an awesome concept that just went in the wrong direction. Love the characters and idea enough to cosplay them, but too put off to actually execute.

Anyone else really want to cosplay from something but won't because you are too put off?

I have a yandere sim cosplay ready (mei mio) for a group cosplay. You just got to find the right people. Mine is robert from dream daddy. One of the cringiest fandoms ever, probably never going to actually cosplay him but might do a makeup test. Who knows I might find some decent people.

Each character design has direct "inspiration" (i.e teacher: Prison School, far right: RWBY.) Even characters teased for future content was literal silhouettes of existing characters. Dig around enough and you'll realize how much it's all a hodgepodge of ideas from other games/anime poorly shoved in because the dev sees a thing and go "I want this in my game!"

Go for it. I cosplayed one of the less popular characters, and I didn't meet with any oddballs. Although, the photoshoot for Persona was a bit annoying at the con that I went to.

I've been one of the main girls in Phantom Thief outfit and definitely got at least 4 creeps during the 5 hours I was wearing it. Wasn't a particularly busy con so I couldn't just slip into the crowd either. Also the first time in a while someone has walked up to me and tried to have roleplay banter and I'm really awful at it but the guy couldn't take a hint and let off.

I really want to wear a slutty anime cosplay, I was thinking body painting myself and wearing a wig to look like pic related(that or a really really tight fitting skin suit like it), but damn that would be really slutty of me to run around basically naked. I could seriously pull it off, but I'd be so embarrassed in public like that... The wig would probably be really difficult too and if I don't get the hair right it'll look so wrong and uguu.

I don't check the teases or anything, but i thought it odd that the nurse is literally Sonico, the second girl from the right is literally Nico from LL, and the occult girl is basically a conglomerate of favorite flavors of the month from a while ago (Hex Maniac and Tharja). If you're going to have cookie cutter cliches at least don't just tweak existing characters and toss them in willy nilly.

Yeah, you might as well cosplay them anyway since the game will never come out since the guy making it does nothing but watch anime and stream games all day then adds a bunch of mechanics and characters from them to his barely functioning tech demo.

There is nothing "wrong" about doing it, but you are gonna get a lot of people coming up to talk to you and then find out you know nothing. If you handle that badly you can come off like a real poser.

The fate series is a mess but you can be competent enough if you go Fate/Zero -> FSN Unlimited Blade works (series) then the Fate Apocrypha anime. I want to love the fate series more is FZ is one of my favorites but the franchise is so bloated.

Yea, sorry I meant getting someone else to do it thats experienced in it already. Obviously an newb doing it would look awful lol I feel the body suit is good for long term wear because the paint will obviously wear out, but the body paint(by a great artist of course and the right type of paint) would probably be the most acurate since i have no idea how a body suit would form around the tits since they are very defined in the anime because she's supposed to be naked(or basically naked) as her clothes dissolved off

I loved Bleach for so long but clung ot it's side even as it was breaking my heart. I was so excited when we finally met the Zero Squad and their pretty decent designs and was going to have a lot of fun making Hikifune and her giant rice paddle and get ahead of the game before she appeared in the anime. And then the anime was pretty much cancelled, the manga crashed and burned and I think most people would think I'm being OC don't steal for an now increasingly unknown series.

I'm a huge Fate fan and i'll warn you now- Even if people are nice to your face about your cosplay, if they know you don't know much about Fate, behind your back they'll rip you to shreds. You'll get absolutely shit talked and it'll leave a terrible impression of you with other Fate fans/cosplayers if you decide to get into it later on.

They're really savage. They even dislike 'secondaries', e.g. people who've only watched one of the series, only played the mobage etc.

I'm in a similar boat, Anon. I'm a magical girl indulgent and I've been wanting to cosplay Illya since I watched Kaleid Liner years ago, hadn't because I didn't know how to sew/forgot I even wanted to cosplay her, and now that I AM able to cosplay her I've found out about how gatekeepy Fate fans seem to be?!

I have absolutely zero interest in Fate outside of Kaleid Liner, but I just have this dumb fear that I'll get shunned by ~real~ Fate fans since I'm not into anything else Fate, or I feel like they wont even approach me for pics in the first place since I'm dressed as the silly magical girl spinoff.

I know most people would just tell me to do it anyway but I'm the kind of person who doesn't understand cosplaying from stuff you're not even a fan of, so it'd be dumb for me to not practice what I preach.

You'll have a lot of people come up to you because Illya is super popular and she's also in the mobage now as well, but you might also get some creeps because people think having a ~loli waifu~ is hot. (Not to mention the sort-of-eroge scenes in the anime)

Your best bet is just to be honest. Just be like straight up 'I only watch Kaleid' and don't pretend to be super into the series. People prefer the straight up truth rather than trying to bluff and eventually getting called out for it.

Last time I did Astolfo I did the joke of "he's from Fate Apocrypha, or Fate Grand Order if you're a gigantic hipster" and that went over really well. The one kid that was there for the Fate meetup was really happy to see cosplay from his cell phone game so that was good enough for me. What bothered me was the normies thinking it was some kind of sex thing and I was hurting their kids. I told them "don't worry, I'm a good guy" in the elevator and that probably wasn't a good idea.

It's really just an anxiety thing, I know 90% of people aren't gonna give a shit if I don't know anything about Fate and cosplay kaleid, and the 10% that do care aren't going to say anything to my face, and if they post on here about it it'll probably just get brushed off as "Anon why do you care so much at least she watched the source for that specific outfit". But there's always a part of me thats like "you're literally gonna get stabbed when you can't answer an obscure ass question you'd only know the answer to if you're a Tru Fan™ you can never wear this outfit!"

Sometimes I wish I was like those girls I always scoff at who don't even know the name of their character and only wear a costume because they think it looks cool and/or because its fotm shit
