I work part time as a waitress (privately owned so I’m not getting shafted with that 5 bucks an hour shit) and I work at a nature center when I’m not waitressing. Most of my money is going towards paying off a surprise bill from college right now so my lolita wardrobe has been suffering. And all the internships I’m looking at now have tiny stipends with no room for an extra job; so I’m beginning to fear I’ll have to take a long hiatus from lolita.

Nayrt, but it could be your upbringing or a natural inclination to work and earn what you want.

Some people are born to be respectable members of society and some people are born to be leeches. As for myself, I'm aiming to be a supportive and loving housewife to a good and hardworking husband so I might end up in that middle ground where I may not necessarily be a NEET but I don't work an actual job.

My hobby is collecting cute things rather than wearing expensive clothes, so it's cheaper and I use money from holidays or earn it by maintaining the lower half of the house I live in with my family.

Admin assistant at a small business that deals in imports and logistics.
It's boring but I get paid well, I just got my first ever Christmas bonus. I can wear whatever I want, but I don't because I'm lazy in the mornings. I'm honestly depressed because I feel that I have a lot of potential and it's being wasted.

My dream is to work in a game design company or for a fashion or beauty brand, doing marketing or even design work. I have the education and I'm building a portfolio, but have no luck whatsoever in getting interviews because I live in bumfuck nowhere. Places seem to only hire people already living in the city (so subsequently they have connections) where the job is, even though I will relocate anywhere on my own dime for my dream job.

I'd also like to start my own brand of accessories. There are some gaps in the market I think I can fill such as novelty bags that can fit more than a cell phone, for example. I have a business degree and am working on the business plan right now. I plan to source a factory (I have connections through my job) for some items in my collection. Working fulltime is really slowing down progress towards fully launching though.

t's not draining off society if your husband takes care of you. I'm not interested in that life, but I've pretty damn tidy, and I like cooking and weird domestic shit like that. I know it's hard work for just two people when I lived with my ex, and that was a tiny ass apartment.

I don't have a car so that's already $1,000+ per year I don't have to pay compared to some people. I also in a small apartment, and grew up learning to conserve electricity and water. That makes my living expenses less then $500 per month. I eat fairly cheaply. I don't drink, eat out much, or go to theaters or anything. Kind of a homebody if I'm not working or at school.

I don't have any money saved up, but I'm not in debt, and I've got some nice things. I guess it's whatever you want to spend your recreational money on. Some go out, some buy funny clothing.

Anon you replied to

There's more to it but I just like to sum it up as basically being a house wife lol. My husband's job is extremely high paying and it would take me working 4 8hr shifts at a retail job to make what he does in a day. I do have basically a part time job doing freelancing at home. I use the money I get to buy frivolous stuff while my husband pays living expenses. He only gets more expensive gifts for me at Christmas and my birthday. While he moves up in work tho he'll be making even more money but that will still take years

Our relationship dynamic works for us but I understand it's not for everyone. I'm not biased to any which way really. If a couple wants to both work that's fine, man stays at home while woman is sugar mama that's cool too. I wouldn't have a problem with getting a job if my husband wanted me too. I did work retail for awhile. But he hated how stressed and tired I got and just rather I stay safe at home .

I rarely make meetups anymore.

Two of us in this thread are nurses. Technically, nursing is both a trade and a profession. I perform skilled labor, must be certified, and continue to advance my skills as technology and regulations change. And I get paid very, very well for it. My job is indoors, it's very complicated (I work with machine-dependent patients), and there is actually a LOT of risk between disease, back injury, the special setting I work in, and patients unintentionally injuring me. It is considered a high risk job :) So go fuck yourself.

That's overly optimistic and it's ignoring the couples with no kids, where the dynamic can become a parent-child relationship due to absolute dependency.

Besides, the stay at home moms I know are raising spoiled, lazy brats and 2 or 3 have ended up in jail or with a drug addiction. I feel bad for the homeschooled ones because they are usually socially stunted or at least can't handle normal workloads once it's time to join society because the parent was lazy and didn't actually "homeschool" them. They get tax benefits under the guise that the kids will grow up to be taxpayers, but really it's because society doesn't want kids to suffer from stupid parents' bad money choices.

I know that feel. I worked in a film studio on a casual basis since my early teens, then part time for several months in my 20s. In that time I had done everything from filming, behind the scenes photography, video editing, image editing, picture research, managing their web page back end, data transfer, feature article writing, rewriting 200 shit articles they had already, location scouting, lighting, props, makeup, costumes... fucking everything all at once, for nothing, except the final 3 weeks where I got £6.50 an hour.

I now work on a farm where I was paid nothing for 4 months, and am now on £5 an hour.I am constantly catching mistakes made by other staff including the assistant manager. I do the jobs no one else wants to do. I go out of my way to cram in as many tasks as possible that people always say they 'never get time to do' but just don't want to make best use of 20 minutes here or half an hour there. I refuse to compromise my standards though. I get taken advantage of serially (but when I stand up for myself I get threatened with court action and thought of as the worst person in the world) but I will never give less than 100%. No one can say that I don't put the effort in, or that I'm lazy or a quitter. At least I know I DESERVE every penny I get for literally working up to my neck in shit in the middle of a thunderstorm having arisen at fucking 4:30am and crawling home because of chronic pain with bleeding heels.

I work HARD for what I have, with the scars, calluses and muscle to prove it, but people still see a small 'cute' girl in frills and assume I'm some clueless bimbo with a sugar daddy and/or Patreon. The pay is okay.
I stay because I genuinely love the work, especially now that I sit in the cushy office half the time and get to be my own boss. I'm also transferring stores next year to work at a flagship location, and moving to one of my country's biggest cities to do so. Pay'll be better there, too.

Industrial has always seemed interesting to me, but there's almost certainly more public sector opportunities in mechanical. I recommend working for a smaller government entity if you can. I started out working for the state because I had zero internship experience. Every joke about the government there was true, and then some. Nobody did anything, people literally slept at their desks or walked around all day, and I had my boss come in multiple times to ask me to work slower. It was cool at first, but it gets pretty soul crushing. I now work for a small city and it's way better. Smaller entity means it can keep up with the times easier, so there's more trying out new techniques and innovation and less using a software program that came out 15 years ago. I interviewed with and have worked with a few different smaller government entities and they all seem way better than the state. It does pay less than private sector, but it usually makes up for it in benefits and work life balance. Good luck with your studies!

Way to show that you don't know what you're talking about. Meals spread out across the day causes less spikes in insulin so it doesn't aggravate diabetes or risk of diabetes. The only issue is that whales think eating more frequently = eating more, and end up overeating. They are at higher risk of diabetes, but that's just because they're eating too much.

Look, you're on the wrong here, I'll redpill you because I'm a generous man.

The less meals you do a day, the better and the less insuline trouble you give the body, if you do a meal a day, body's insulin level will stay the same overall for a very long time, if you do many small meals, your insulin will fluctuate (even if you eat anorexia tier shit and doesn't give a gigantic spike, and even eating things with an high glycemic index will give an spike no matter the amount of food ingested.)

So, in short, eating many meals a day is LITERALLY harmful and retarded, the less meals you do a day, the more hormonal and health benefits you reap (due to entering in fasting state).

Probably one of the biggest retarded memes in nutrition is the 238957293578 bazillion meals a day.

I did a standard google search for other studies and I'm not finding it. If you can find me something that has a bit more power and is not in the Czech Republic (I'm in fat-merica and I'm actually interested in this) I'd be very thankful.

I'm not sure about what would it take to convince you, just consider this:

>"Fasting is the most efficient and consistent strategy to decrease insulin levels. This was first noted decades ago, and widely accepted as true. It is quite simple and obvious. All foods raise insulin, so the most effective method of reducing insulin is to avoid all foods. Blood glucose levels remain normal, as the body begins to switch over to burning fat for energy. This effect is seen with fasting periods as short as 24-36 hours. Longer duration fasts reduce insulin even more dramatically. More recently, alternate daily fasting has been studied as an acceptable technique of reducing insulin."

>therefore one meal a day is the most healthy for your insulin levels and sensitivity, since it provides a bigger fasting period than constantly eating small meals thorough the day

It's basically adding 2+2.

I strongly recommend you read on the second link I posted: Hormonal Adaptation, Insulin, Growth hormone, Electrolytes, Adrenalin, etc.

All I'm saying is that the linked first study is kinda shit for a variety of reasons. I'm not particularly interested in debating this because nutrition is a polarizing subject with many positive claims and hypotheses being tested nowadays, some with more evidence than others, but just FYI the second study is a 'no shit Sherlock' kind of study that's been inferred for a while.

Ok, but you already got your answer.

The opposite of this is right: "Meals spread out across the day causes less spikes in insulin so it doesn't aggravate diabetes or risk of diabetes."

Because no food=no insulin spike, food=insulin spike.

5 meals a day=5 spikes a day
1 meal a day=1 spike a day

more spikes=bad
less spikes=good

+additional benefits from fasting in one meal a day (hormonal)

Can't dumb it down further.

I personally don't need a gigantic peer reviewed study with the best methodology out there in which every country in the earth participated just to do inferences and deductions.

How the hell do you manage to eat your daily calorie value in one meal? Are you just not an extremely active person? I could maybe understand if someone was extremely sedentary, but not people who are highly active, walking constantly, or doing physical labor. Still don't understand how someone consumes that many calories at once without feeling sick afterward.

Also, if you're diabetic, you do have to eat multiple meals a day, and normally you gotta' carry healthy snacks too. Have you ever known any diabetics? I don't think you should be giving health advice that would harm an actual diabetic.

Sat on my AA for a while doing retail and saving up for getting my BS. Ended up getting into escort business to finish my way through school a year ago, and am working as a researcher for a major hospital in my area. Lab hours are actually a little wonkier than my escort hours, but I cosplayed more during school than I do now. I had fluctuating funds, but not much to spend it on and one of the girls I met through escorting also liked to cosplay and had a sewing machine and a cheap serger she would share with me.

Right now, I'm salaried, but investing more into getting quality house things and just signed for a car. I go through cgl every once and a while just to keep my motivation up to do a costume soon especially because De La Fille from Granblue is my dream cosplay but I seriously cannot drop that much money to do her justice.
