I did want it because it was cheaper. Their previous LP petticoats were said to be almost indistinguishable from their regular-priced petticoats, but then again those were the ones that came with the more expensive lucky packs so I guess you do have a point.

I'm still interested in seeing reviews of how bad it is though.

IW is doing some kind of salon party. It mostly sounds like a scaled down burando tea for five, really, but if I read this right they'll be showing new S/S releases that you can reserve on the spot (5% discount, but really I just like seeing the designs ahead of when they announce it on the blog).

I wish it was so easy to hop on a plane and be in Osaka next week, this sounds like fun.

The Moi-Meme-Moitie x Hatsune Miku dresses is indeed just a cosplay of her outfit. A quite expensive cosplay, it’s 71,000¥ for the dress + headdress. I personally don’t think it’s suitable for Lolita at all. It screams cosplay all over. I wonder if there are Lolita’s who are going to buy it.

One thing that annoyed me was the sales page doesn't show all the items that are on sale/discounted. I found a bolero at half off that wasn't listed on the sales page, so I'd suggest gulls check all the categories rather than sticking to the sales category to see what's on sale.

Sort of off topic but I'm wondering is Tumblr on the decline?
I just logged in for the first time in 2 years (to delete my account) and noticed most of the lolita/Jfash accounts I had been following also hadn't updated in a year or longer. It seems like a lot of people have moved on to IG but I don't know if it's across the board or just fashion related/personal accounts.

The thing is, VM's sunsetting is the other side of the coin. We're not seeing an in-between state for any of the brands where they're still doing things that the non-Chinese international market likes while also catering to the Chinese market. It's become increasingly difficult to tell if they're even catering properly to their own Japanese market at this point because the indie brands are completely veering off in a different direction when you compare it to what AP/BtSSB have been releasing for the last few years.

And remember, this is business. Loyalty doesn't pay the bills or keep the lights on. At the moment, Chinese money does, so they're gonna follow where the cashflow is coming from. And if you really, really think about it, the international market's been feeding the monster in its own way by eating up all the shit that taobao produces so naturally the Japanese brands are going to follow suit because that's what they think is desired as well.

You could say that it might be Chinese lolitas in Japan doing a bunch of the selling, but the fact remains that it's now in a system where it wasn't before and is becoming embraced (CC carries ToAlice, ToAlice has a physical store location in Harajuku) more so than before. Regarding the tags, it's interesting that the romanized versions of the brand tags have more posts under them than the kanji.

Obviously I'm not a mind reader, so I can only go by what sort of releases have been coming from the brands themselves. I know it's a tired meme to call something taobao-like but there is a noticeable difference between design choices from even 2014 when you compare it to what's available now. Part of that is going to be a natural evolution of fashion, and part of it is going to be influence because we know for a fact that the Japanese brands have been running events in China, and some of these events also involve the Chinese brands being there with them on site. It's impossible for them to not have some sort of exposure and influence from this alone, nevermind seeing what the Chinese lolitas are wearing and buying at such events.

I'm wondering, should I get a Bodyline skirt?
I have better and prettier things, the skirt in question is cute, but nothing special. It's second hand, so it's really cheap, and I'm thinking of it as using it for daily wear at home, for stuff like cooking, where I wouldn't feel bad about getting it dirty. I never owned anything from Bodyline, so I don't know what to expect.

This. I buy directly from brands all the time and this never enters my mind at all. I buy to keep and wear. I only sell when it's years later and I realize I don't wear it enough or my style changes and I don't like it as much anymore.

It actually saddens me when some of my friends who own a lot of brand say they've never bought from brand before. Some even get new releases, but still buy from an SS. I get it, you want to be sure, but you're missing out on the discount points and all the extras they include. A 30D is in a whole different ballpark than a 38D. That's a 34" bust measurement versus a 42" bust measurement. A 28G is only a 35" bust, a comfortable fit into most brand, while a 40C comes out to a brand-busting 43".

Just go to stores that either specialize in bras or higher end retail stores like Dillards/Nordstrom (I'm assuming you're in the US). I wear 30DDD and pretty much have to buy from these stores as average retailers don't carry my size. Doesn't mean you have to be broke doing so, while the bras are more expensive than average if you're smart with shopping clearance and sales you can get them cheap. The past New Years sale at Dillards I got three Natori bras for $10 each, was nice.

I'd get measured in one of these stores too. I got measured in a Victoria's Secret and they told me I was a 32DD, probably because that's the smallest waist + biggest cup they carried, and those bras always were too small in cup and I had to clasp them at the last hooks. Dillards sized me properly.

Idk if that’s the right place to ask, but I ordered a lucky pack from AP on their release date (28th or 29th December I think) and they still have not charged my credit card.
I used the credit card I always used (the details were still saved) and it was also shipped and I did not get any other e-mails from AP.
I‘m a little worried now, they never take any more than 10 days to chargw my card and I buy from them quite frequently so I doubt my credit card declined rhe charge. Did anyone have the same problem???

I asked my mom which she thought was the better option for her to buy me as a gift. I showed her a picture of both of them. This comes up a lot. AP does their CC transactions in one go some weird times of the month/week. The money isn't really on your credit card anyway, there is a "hold" on the funds, you'll find you can't really max out your credit card if you tried (but don't though). The actual transaction just hasn't been fully completed is all.

Honestly the only reason I buy directly from brand is because I'm in the Cali bay area and I get my items the next day practically.
I feel like loyalty to brand has a lot to do with having a good experience shopping there. When I started out I went to the AP store in San Fran and the girls there helped me a lot and I've been loyal to them and BTSSB too.

This sounds like it's the case. I guess I've never had a poor experience shopping online for it, and honestly the smaller Japanese brands are over the top nice that I can't help but what to shop there. Baby has been great as well. AP USA is always terrible, so I continue buying from AP Japan unless I miss a release I like. Buying in-store is also best experience especially in the non Tokyo shops. I've only had poor experiences with specific branches of AP in Tokyo.
