Grey wig doesn’t suit the coord, black would be better. There’s no purple or black head accessories to balance the heavy dark colors of the dress, and the blue head bow is wrong color. The bear ears are kitschy but fine. Boobloaf, but not the worst I’ve ever seen. Purse and shoes technically match the dress but they don’t look good or balanced and again there’s no purple anywhere else substantial.
All said a messy coord but does generally look lolita, just not good lolita.

Lacy frilly brim on the hat that doesn’t go with the rest of the toned down outfit. The necklace kind of sticks out awkwardly although she was trying for pink balance its kind of the wrong colour. The glasses aren’t that cute. The blouse is a tshirt with no structure, no decor or frills or details to look at, nor is it pretty and flowy if she wanted a less textured top. The waistband looks unpleasant, and the proof of the skirt seems a little saggy (look at the side she isn’t holding up)

Personal preference, I find it unfortunate she spent money on brand bracelets that don’t quite fit the outfit but then can’t be bothered with a decent top. Even an offbrand cutsew with a thematically appropriate print on it would look better.

To me they’re both borderline. Not fully ita but beyond a small nitpick

It's just bad handmade, really. Someone should tell her the skirt should be 4-5x her waist, she's not skinny so the usual 2-3m won't work for her. The front of her bodice is too low and she either lost or didn't draft the arm scye. I think a lot of newbies don't realise a jsk bodice is cut out from a proper basic block and not just a rectangle-ish block wrapped around your torso.

Unlike the other itas itt though, she's very well-groomed. In fact, I love this pic because it demonstrates just how far non-coord things like doing your hair and makeup goes towards making you not look like a crazy weeb. Technically >>9783300 is just a jsk coord worn without a petticoat, which technically works for some lolita dresses. Technically, she’s retained a lot of lolita elements, her shoulders are covered, she has accessories, and the lace-and-strawberries theme is repeated pretty well. Technically it shouldn’t matter whether or not your clothing is offbrand as long as it matches; the hat and bag matches her strawberry theme quite well, and the bolero is cropped so it “fits” a poofy lolita skirt (which she doesn’t have).

Technically it’s not breaking any rules for casual lolita.

It still looks like someone’s grandma, though. She kind of didn’t get the memo that all the technicalities come with the caveat of “it can look good, depending on the dress/coord”, it’s not a blanket “this meets all the technicalities and therefore is lolita”. I don’t think casual lolita was ever something that could be defined by rules anyway, it kind of depended on breaking enough of proper lolita rules so that it didn’t look so stiff and uptight, while keeping enough of them to still look lolita.
