What I've done-laminate the sticker (you could use clear packing tape if its a small sticker), and then tape the back to a piece of felt with a jewelery pin sewn into it. This keeps the sticker from getting dirty, its able to be removed and re-positioned like any other pin, and the felt+pin stick out enough to give the sticker a 'floating' look, rather then just plastered onto a fabric backing. I hope that makes sense. I can take a pic if I worded it badly.

It is the right one, but there's not discoloration in person. I think the difference in the image is cause the authentic one has its clip tucked under and the boot doesn't have a clip

It's the fact you're purposely buying bootleg merchandise when the fucking point of the hobby is to buy merchandise to support the very thing you love. By purchasing bootlegs you're directly harming the franchise you adore, you're putting people out of jobs, you're discouraging creators from investing money into new products.

And you might think "nobody will know", but *you* know. You're the piece of shit. Your bag is as much a piece of fucking trash as you are. The cancer that kills lolita, the cancer that kills BJDs, the very cancer that kills any luxury hobby.

To be honest I don't really see it as being that black and white of an issue. Japanese companies get their merch made in China and when some of them don't meet the production standard they get sold off in bulk to other sellers, mostly on Taobao. These sellers then sell them at a discount in defect merch shops.

Are they still bootlegs? Yes. But I don't see the harm in having a few if you need padding for your bag if you're doing multiples of the same design and just need the extra filler. It's when your bag is mostly bootlegs that there's a problem.

The real thing that bugs me is when "poor fans" buy up an entire bag of these rejects or just outright bootlegs for their bags because they're cheap. Or, they go to a convention and buy bootlegs at inflated prices thinking because they're sold at a convention they're legitimate and try to tell everyone that even when you know it's not true.

So personally, I think it's less black and white and more a sliding scale of shit. There's acceptable shitty, annoyingly shitty, and then outright shitty.

This is kind of a loaded question for me since I feel like my "completed" bags are never really complete. I'm always changing my layouts, adding merch, taking out merch, adding embellishments. So they're pretty much always in progress IMO.

I can say that I have 5 bags for one ship, 2 bags for another ship, a bag for a character in one of the ships and a bag for another character altogether. I'm the anon from a couple of threads ago that's going on a buying break though.

I have a collection for a fourth character slowly growing on a pinboard, but it's more a product of opportunity than anything else. YOI exploded in popularity the exact same time that Itabagging hit mainstream anime culture, so it makes sense that there are a lot of bags for the series. Especially because in response to YOI breaking records with an astronomical and unexpected success they needed to make a shit ton of merchandise to capitalize on appeal - and baggable merch like buttons and charms had the shortest lead team to get it on shelves for people to buy, so there was a LOT of it available. (this is why a bunch of the early YOI merch is screencap buttons/charms - it could go into production without waiting for new art to be produced and OK'd by several different departments)

Not only for attention, but I think a need for community acceptance plays into it.
We've talks about how validating it is to meet another itabagger or bonding over shared interest and these kids are seeking that, but without the effort it takes to make, well, a real itabag.

Like another anon said, she's posted her bag here multiple times and it seems to only have a few more pieces of merch, and she's taken zero concrit to make it better. Her bag's a hot mess, not sure why you're so fervently defending it. 4chan isn't some hugbox that's going to celebrate you getting a plushie. In terms of rosettes, I think those can still work well for masculine characters, it's just how you approach making things. I have the same cat ear bag and have used it as a daily bag for about a year with no damage or notable signs of wear (no visible scuffs, etc). But I bought it before the bag started cropping up at conventions, so likely before the design spread to cheaper manufacturers. Sadly not all taobao bags are created equally - even within the same design. It's best to really look into store ratings and product reviews when ordering Chinese originals.

Trying to find merch for an older show that doesn't have as much out. I've checked Etsy (there's like 1 keychain), eBay (there's a keychain, but it looks bootleg), otamart (some stuff), YJA (a lot of stuff, but a lot of it is the same handful of items), and booth (also some stuff but not a lot), as well as tictail which I don't think really had anything. I've also checked amiami but a lot of it is older stuff that orders are closed on.

I'm gonna go through the rest of the Japanese merch stores listed in the google doc tonight, but are there other secondhand sites or sites where people sell fanartist made merch worth checking out? Since it seems like secondhand merch or fan merch will be my best luck for finding stuff from this series.

Does amiami still ban you for canceling a preorder? I feel like if they hit you that hard all in one month, they should be a bit more reasonable, especially since its usually because they delay things constantly. A few hundred dollars every few months is one thing, but 2 grand all at once? Doesn't really matter how well a person budgets, thats gonna hurt.

I've cancelled 2 items, one was a lifesize wall scroll and I realised I didn't have the funds at all, anther was a figure set that was later revealed to be a build kit. I was able to cancel each with no issue, the wall scroll they sent me a stern email but that was about it.

I would message them though in regards to the amount of preorders you have because surely they must understand delays. If they were able to delay my package when the manufacturers messed up themselves, they might be able to do something about your order.
