And I was wondering about some good places to eat. I figured I'd hit The Varsity since it's cheap, and close the convention center I'm going to be at. I'm looking to stay under $15 and my hotel is actually in Norcross if that matters any.

One of my few /ck/ related images that isn't a story of some kind.

I love more or less everything I've gotten there. Their chocolates and other candies are pretty damn nice, and as someone said, any actual German food they get in tends to be good. If you didn't see it, they (should) have ground turkey and ground beef for cheap too. Also, if they have peaches in a jar, grab one, they're actually pretty nice.

Also, completely forgot to mention that Abita makes a cane sugar root beer and it's pretty damn good for about a dollar a bottle in a six pack.

I don't either. I prefer quality to quantity, and I average around 16oz a day, maybe more if I go out to eat. But yeah....

I think I paid $7 at local place one time because the World Market was out...not my proudest moment.

The kegs are like $15 around here, oh and I'm pretty sure Whole Foods stocks the four packs at like $4.50.

Despite what they associate with, they do make some nice sodas.

OP, look for a World Market, they carry a good variety of bottled soda.

Yep, that's it. Try it with some white onions and cheddar cheese too. Also try making some southern style slaw and putting that on a hot dog. Then put chili and slaw on it at once.

Well, maybe it's just around here then. I'd wager most of the vegetables I've encountered have been prepared to mush with a bit of butter or maybe some meat drippings.

20 year old here. I've noticed a trend over the past two or three years for me. I tend to like vegetables much more when they aren't cooked like most Americans cook them. Anyone else like this?

Have they ever NOT had it? Or are you not from the US?

No, I mean she literally counted on her fingers. I know a few people who use their fingers and they tend to not look at them when they do it. She was looking at her hand, while mumbling the numbers. At least she knew English...

I worked with a girl who literally counted on fingers. And she was like, 17 or something. If I worked with her I made sure she was making the pizza and I was pulling them out/working the register.

I used to do that as a kid. And the bread ball thing. These days my strangest thing is if I have a bottled drink. I drink it from the right side of my mouth. Weirds out my friends.

Hmm, that's a pretty good idea. I'll give that a try when I get something baked/bought.

If I lived in Germany, that might be an option. I live in America, South Carolina, to be exact. My options are kinda limited here.

So I got some of this from Aldi. It's kinda good, but it tastes like it needs something sweet in it. So I added some sugar to the bit I heated up and it became quite a bit better. Any suggestions for what I can add to it, or if I should just add sugar to each bit I warm up?

Possibly because they sell so much. It probably costs them like a $1-1.50 to make/prepare, so they lower the price and make up for it with volume.

Anyway, my town has no fast food, at all. It's frustrating. We have three "American" restaurants and one Chinese place. None of them are cheap, the nearest fast food restaurant is twenty minutes in any direction.

Oh that shit? I'm glad I can vote now...but nothing's come up recently. Also kinda pissed I have to be 21 to guy buy anything, but I can drink stuff at home. Though I suppose it's irrelevant as I don't have much money and alcohol is kinda expensive.

This is slowly changing. The South seems to change quite bit slower than the rest of the country in regards to drinking. It seems to be remnant of the old folk who still have some power. My local grocery store didn't even sell beer/wine until about four years ago. There's also a push to repeal the whole "No alcohol on Sunday" crap. It just started this year in the larger towns and cities in SC, but it's progress.

Back to high school for a second though. One of the things mine did that I loved was "break." It was ten minutes between our first and second (of four) blocks where you could get breakfast if your bus arrived late or you didn't have time to get something. It was just leftover, but hey, a biscuit or a piece of sausage was great when you didn't get lunch until 1. Break was around 9:30, so that was a pretty good jump for some people. Then they took it away the next year because too many people were fighting.

It seems like the whole childhood obesity is twofold. Kids are only eating fatty, shit foods at school because they taste better than the horrid vegetables and moldy fruit. Then there's the whole not giving kids recess...just seems dumb to me. Most kids WANT to play outside, even if all they do is run around and yell like idiots for twenty minutes.
