very hard to find a good fish n chips. rick stein taught his 14 year old chefs quite well, harry Ramsdens can be good. I have worked as a frier before and on the first day the boss asked me to cook fish and chips and show him how I worked. as standard I double cooked the chips so they were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside and cooked the fish so the batter was crispy with the actual fish still tasting like fish. the prick had a huge go at me and said that I didn't know what I was doing and that his customers wouldn't accept it like that. the rest of my time working there I had to produce soggy greasy chips and fish that looks like it had been left wrapped up in wet paper for an hour. I was very happy to quit that job

there is no decent Spanish food except chorizo.
