Eggs are fucking awesome. When animals that are normal "vegetarian" become more desperate for nutrients, guess what they go for first. Granted part of it might be because eggs are vulnerable and you are at less risk of injury, but a hungry animal will rarely turn down an egg for a reason.

>he's dumb enough to think chickens won't eat anything in the yard
Birbs will attack and consume insects, worms, and even small mammals. This is not when they are starving. Chickens are just greedy fuckers. Yeah if you feed them pure sure it tastes like nothing, but fish =/= fish. That's mom-science.

Nature is scary when it's hungry. Biologists argued about whether it was true, but locals reported that after 2 years of the trees baring nothing, the squirrels attacked their pets. Squirrels will go after eggs, birds, and even rodents if starved too much.

Grabbing the occasional apple with your 100 fucking lbs of salmon does not make you an omnivore. Unless that bear is consuming several square miles of mullberry bushes a day with his salmon, he's a carnivore.

Animals will grab calories when convenient, and since a brown bear can handle them without it bothering their digestive track, that means all calories.

Keep reading partial and broken statistics, telling yourself you're doing the right thing with your feel-good diet.

Reminds me of the squirrels in The National Mall in DC. Fuckers are so fat they can't climb trees because of dumbass city people feeding them. They literally run up to you and beg for food. If you finally manage to spook them, some are so fat they'll run to a tree and they'll scramble two feet up before falling off.

Fucking coasties.

Hilarious assholes that don't realize that humanity evolved eating any food they could get their mitts on. Primitive man almost died out perpetually migrating. They weren't soy farmers.

It's fucking horrible on a deer or squirrel's system to consume meat, but when starving they will.

How the hell do you hate the most versatile and delicious things in the world? Even squirrels will eat them when food is scarce. Well, eggs and mice.

>rabbits aren't food
If you want to keep one as a pet that's fine. Just don't be offended when I eat a wild one. If I could figure out a way to domesticate a squirrel I probably would, but that wouldn't stop be from eating the wild ones.

Getting personally attached to something and losing touch with the fact that everything is part of that chain of life makes you an idiot. You know how many rabbits get culled harvesting the grains for your diet? Death is sadly a part of death. That doesn't mean you can't love a thing, but don't pretend that because your pet acts cute that it can't be food or that they don't die en masse during grain harvests. A quick shotgun blast is merciful compared to whatever else end happens in the woods and at least he'll feed someone.

Fun fact, when starving deer and other non-carnivorous animals will eat meat. It's not ideal and can be rough on their system, but it's better than dying immediately. It is food.
