I judge the book by how well the contents are organized and the information therein is separated by format - like bold font for Titles, topics, and subtopics? Nah. I then have to carefully evaluate just how the text is written, because primary information sometimes comes first for authors, rather than the reader's attention and curiosity.

Find a good number of books (using those keywords you've mentioned) online through a site that offers a time-range for publication and then make you a little list.
Take your list to the library again and start looking into the books you found (that your library actually has) that might have a high rating online, or some good feedback anywhere else.
See if you can't download the others your library doesn't have.
